Asbestos cement pipes are manufactured only in a straight configuration, since the production process of curved pipes is much more complicated. To make a turn in the plumbing system, use special couplings made of cast iron or steel.

To connect non-pressure pipes with a diameter of up to 150 mm, you can also use plastic fittings, which create a fairly tight connection. Using them is quite simple:

  1. Warm up the fitting construction hairdryer.
  2. Push it onto the end of one of the pipes to be connected until it stops inside.
  3. Also heat up the fitting on the other side and insert the second pipe.
  4. Once cooled, the plastic will contract significantly, creating a tight seal.

There are quite a lot of manufacturers of asbestos-cement pipes in the CIS, but we will provide a list of the largest and most reliable:

  • JSC SKAI is the largest supplier of chrysotile cement pipes in Russia.
  • OJSC Belgorodasbestotsement produces pressure and non-pressure asbestos-cement pipes, which are used for all types of systems, including heating mains and gas pipelines.
  • JSC "LATO" is a worthy competitor of the above-mentioned companies, also engaged in the supply of all types of pipes and connecting elements for them.

You will not be able to order products directly from the factories of these companies, but if you find their pipes from an intermediary, for example in a store, you can safely purchase them, because all products that go on sale undergo strict quality control.
