The quality of the texture depends on the specifics of the additives used, which can be both fine and coarse.

When added to a dry or ready-made mixture of additives, ground to a powder state, the created surface is completely smooth. This can be the case when the man in the street needs to create the impression of building walls using river stones. When imitating stones from plaster, it is necessary to determine in advance what kind of material should be depicted on the surface.

Wall decoration under a natural stone will be an excellent replacement for wild stone masonry. To do this, you need a plaster mixture with sufficiently coarse filler fractions. The decorative coating imitates fine stone. To do this, it is enough to use a mixture that includes marble, granite or quartz chips. The photo shows that a coating that imitates a rough stone can be created using plaster with additives of larger fractions.

Various types of textured plaster are used to create a decorative coating on the surface of walls erected from any material. With the help of decorative plaster, imitation of a stone is quite simple to carry out, subject to the rules of the technological process. The photo shows that, as in any other case, leveling the walls before plastering, it is better to use construction beacons.

Having completed the preparation of the surface, they begin to prepare the plaster mixture for the walls itself, which can become an excellent substitute for masonry, which is quite difficult to do with your own hands. It is sold dry and is intended for self-preparation, during which it is extremely important to observe the indicated proportions and sequence of work. Textured plaster can be purchased ready-made, and in this case, strict adherence to the instructions explaining the rules for its use in the course of decorating walls under a stone is required.

Work order

Do-it-yourself decorative plaster under a stone is done quite quickly with little material costs. Decorating walls under a stone does not require special knowledge and skills from the master. Of course, it is better to have some experience in conducting plastering works, this will greatly simplify and speed up the process, but those who encounter such manipulations for the first time will be able to cope with the task at hand.

When making an imitation of a stone, you need to clearly understand how you can achieve the maximum similarity between stone and plaster. So, for example, when facing the outer walls of a building with artificial stone on the plinth, you can use plaster under the stone, creating a pattern that is as similar as possible to the already laid material.

In order to imitate the structure and shape of the stones as accurately as possible, some craftsmen use a ready-made stamp or stencil, but those who prefer to do all the work on their own know how to make the decor with their own hands.

If it is decided to use a stencil, then, before making an imitation of the wall, they are plastered with a conventional compound intended for work indoors or on the facade of a building. On the finished flat smooth surface with the plaster layer still wet, apply a stencil and carefully smooth it using a plastic trowel.

Over a fixed stencil that simulates natural stone, apply a layer of decorative plaster with a thickness of at least 0.5 cm, and in some cases - from 1 to 1.5 cm.

After a few minutes, the stencil is carefully removed from under the decorative coating and a pattern imitating natural stone is obtained on the wall.

You do not need to use specially prepared decorative plaster, but make a solution to simulate stones yourself. This is a common plaster mixture, which is applied to the walls with a layer of at least 3 cm. When the solution hardens slightly and "grabs", the outlines of stones are drawn on the surface or even sculpted by hand.

Another way to create a decorative coating is shown in detail in the video.

Having decided what kind of relief will decorate the walls of the house, it is important to take care of preparing a solution of the desired consistency in order to avoid cracking after drying. The final stage is painting and varnishing. He protect decorative coating from negative impact environment and will extend its life.

6. Multi-layer varnishing makes the imitation of a stone surface more natural, so whichever method and stone you choose, try not to neglect this step.
