Scheme of a plasterboard dollhouse. Do-it-yourself plywood house for Barbie: installation features and internal contents

Plywood of any kind - very worthy, universal building material. If you have a little knowledge of carpentry tools in the form of a jigsaw, hacksaw and sandpaper and decided to build a house from plywood, the result will please you. Let us also take a closer look at the information about the types and production of this material, and the tools used for it, in order to better understand the entire construction process.

What does plywood production involve? Of course, this is the initial harvesting of wood, heat treatment, cutting into veneer, pressing it and cutting it to the required size.

In addition, when processing plywood, it is sanded, treated with special reagents, and packaged in special containers. There are several ways to make this material:

  • basic sawing of wood,
  • planing existing workpieces,
  • gluing veneer, which is removed in a small layer (peel-peeled plywood).

In Russia, plywood production dates back to the end of the nineteenth century. Previously, this building material was used in almost all industries, from the production of instruments for musicians to the construction of aircraft. And the range of use of this material increased every year. Our country is among the leaders in the production of high-tech plywood, thanks in part to the wealth of wood and developed production.

Types of plywood

Now we will look at these types of plywood:

  • Laminated,
  • Moisture resistant
  • Construction,

Laminated plywood is a building material that occupies one of the leading positions in the list of building materials used in the construction of houses. This type owes its popularity to the presence of a laminate layer, which is applied to sheets of plywood. This type made from larch, birch and other wood species. The advantages of laminated plywood are moisture resistance, impact resistance, and ease of maintenance.

Advice!
You can use this plywood for furniture assembly and finishing work, and repeatedly.

Moisture-resistant plywood is made by gluing it with a special glue made using resin. This type used for interior finishing work. Russia also produces moisture-resistant plywood with increased level moisture resistance. In fact, it differs from the first type of plywood by using an adhesive based on a different resin. Its peculiarity is the possibility of use not only indoors, but also outdoors.

Construction plywood is indispensable in construction. Construction means the construction various designs using plywood, be it the ceiling, floor, wall, etc. Typically, plywood is a rough material that defines the look and shape of a structure, then it is given a cleaner finish.

This plywood is thicker than other types to give it the necessary rigidity and reliability.

Advice!
This type of material is popular due to its lightness, which makes it possible to use this material in any type of residential building structure.

The abbreviation Fiberboard stands for "fibreboard". This building material is obtained by hot pressing and subsequent drying of wood fibers. In the woodworking industry, a fairly large amount of wood waste is generated, which is crushed and a fibrous mass is obtained, from which fiberboard is prepared. Depending on what kind of wood the waste was used from, the material gets its specific color.

Fiberboard is a very common building material; its surface is smooth and durable, at the same time it has the necessary flexibility.

Here is an example of a list of advantages of the material:

  • good for sawing,
  • due to its light weight it is not difficult to attach it to the floor and walls,
  • has good sound insulation.

Everyone understands that plywood is sold in standard sizes, and for work its elements are required in the most different forms, and not only rectangular ones. Therefore, a person using this material must know how and with what rectangular standard sheet give the desired shape.

The easiest way is to take the necessary measurements at the construction site, visit a carpentry workshop and order the necessary plywood figures. However this method, naturally, will require additional financial costs, in addition, it does not fully correspond to the task if you build a house with your own hands.

Laying plywood on the floor has several nuances. Depending on whether the floor is laid on a wooden or concrete floor, the thickness of the material is determined. When laying plywood on a wooden floor, the defects of which are hidden, it is enough to purchase plywood with a thickness of about 10-12 mm. Minor differences in the level of the boards will be perfectly hidden and will not be noticeable.

When laying plywood on concrete base The logs are pre-laid and leveled to zero. In this case, the thickness of the plywood must be at least 15 mm to ensure that the load is maintained and there is no deflection.

In construction, to give plywood the required shape, they use a blade with a fine tooth on it. After cutting with a jigsaw, the edges of the figure can be further processed with sandpaper. At the same time, it is almost impossible to make curved shapes with a jigsaw; for this, a circular plate is used.

Advice!
If you don’t have a jigsaw or a circular saw, you’ll have to work the old fashioned way with a hacksaw, but to do this you should sharpen the saw properly and be very careful not to break the cutting line.

Plywood house

Plywood house

Are you planning for yourself or your children? Each of us built a hut in childhood, and you know that your child will be delighted if he has his own small house for games. Of course it's better to use quality plywood. When starting construction, you should draw up drawings of the future house.

If construction is taking place for a child, then it is better to build the house in or next to the children’s room so that the child can be under control.

Advice!

You should think about what kind of plywood to use for construction and required quantity sheets. If the house is supposed to be built small and light, then the thickness of the plywood should not exceed 10 mm for it to work.

When determining the thickness of the material, it is necessary to take into account the load on the plywood, avoiding its maximum possible bending. If you have sufficient financial resources, you can also purchase a laminated type, which has a more aesthetic appearance and does not require painting.

After preparing the material, we make markings on sheets of plywood, draw windows and a door. When planning the placement of windows, you must strive to larger size so that the house is light. Height doorway must exceed height.

If the necessary lines are marked, you can proceed to cutting out the blanks.

Advice!
Once the pieces are ready, you should use sanding paper to sand the plywood and process the cut edges so that the chips do not hurt your hands. It is better to join plywood using metal corners and self-tapping screws, since the use of a timber frame will significantly increase the cost and weight of the object.

Once the walls of the house are assembled, you can move on to installing the roof. When installing this part, it is necessary to maintain a certain angle of inclination, eliminating the possibility of children being on it.

In children's stores you can find a wide range of toys, including doll houses of various sizes. This toy is every girl's dream. You can not only purchase such a house, but also build it yourself. An original plywood dollhouse can be made in just a few days. This will not only save money, but also make a toy that will fully comply with the baby’s wishes. After all, a child can take an active part in production, express his wishes and help decorate. To make it you will need sheets of plywood, a diagram and sketches, as well as simple materials and tools.

A plywood house for dolls is a great toy for every girl.

Toy stores offer a wide range of doll houses. However, making such a toy from plywood yourself has a number of significant advantages:

  1. Manufacturing according to individual project. The main advantage of making it yourself is the opportunity to make the house the way the girl sees it. In this case, you can take into account the desired size, number and design of rooms, layout, furniture features and additional decorative elements. This toy will be unique.
  2. Possibility to make a house of any size. Its dimensions depend only on the wishes of the child and the availability of free space in the room.
  3. The benefits of working together with your child. If you build a house together with your child, you can not only make a truly beautiful and unique toy, but also have a good time with your baby and strengthen the family bond.
  4. Development of creative abilities and skills in working with plywood. The whole family can start making a house. If your daughter can express her wishes and decorate the rooms, then her brother may well help in assembling the structure itself.

Dollhouse With original furniture made of plywood

There are many materials that can be used as a basis when making a dollhouse. However, plywood is most often used for these purposes. This is due to a number of advantages of the material for assembly toy house. These include:

  • plywood is a pleasant-to-touch material, always warm, like all wooden toys;
  • if the construction rules are followed, the finished structure will be durable and can be used even for the most violent games;
  • plywood is low-cost, so you can use it to build an inexpensive house, unlike a ready-made store-bought option;
  • working with plywood requires affordable tools that can be found in every home;
  • The surface of the plywood itself is smooth and aesthetically pleasing, so there is no need to further decorate the surfaces.

In addition, plywood is safe material. However, when choosing it, you need to pay attention to the labeling. The impregnating adhesive contains formaldehyde, which is hazardous to health. Therefore, only material marked E0 should be used.

Making a drawing

To build a plywood house you will need detailed drawing with dimensions of all parts. First you need to decide on the approximate dimensions of the structure. Its size should be based on the wishes of the future owner, as well as the size of the room in which the house will stand. In addition, it is necessary to think in advance about the shape of the product and its style.

Dollhouse drawing

If used finished drawing, then it must be remembered that when changing the dimensions of certain parts, other dimensions should be changed proportionally. If the drawing is drawn up independently, it is necessary to include the following data:

  1. The back wall should be in the shape of a rectangle or pentagon. The last option is preferable, because it will allow you to make original roof with beveled edges.
  2. The base, which should be slightly wider than interior space. This will simplify the process of assembling the structure.
  3. Overlapping the second and third floors, which should be the same size and be slightly smaller than the base.
  4. Side details.
  5. Partitions between rooms.
  6. Elements for making a roof.

Details of assembling a plywood dollhouse can be found in the video:

The dimensions of all elements can be easily calculated independently by drawing a sketch on paper. To simplify the work, you can use ready-made diagrams by making the necessary adjustments to them.

Materials and tools

Making a house from plywood is a multi-stage process and complex process. One of the most important stages is preparation and purchase necessary materials and tools. If you do this in advance, the process of making the house will go faster.

To work you will need:

  1. Plywood. The main building material for making a dollhouse. To calculate the required quantity, it is necessary to calculate the number of parts and their area from the drawing, and add up all the data. The resulting value should be rounded up. For a small house you will need on average three sheets of material, and for a huge palace for dolls, you may need up to ten sheets of material.
  2. Corrugated cardboard. It can be used to make a roof. This material can be replaced with regular cardboard or plywood.
  3. Electric jigsaw. The optimal tool for working with plywood. Allows you to quickly cut parts of the desired size with minimal risk of cracks and chips.
  4. Wood glue. An excellent option for fastening plywood parts. Dries quickly and has no unpleasant odor and at the same time does not leave marks on the material.
  5. Mounting tape. It is recommended to use it as an additional means for securing parts, especially in places where strength and reliability of the structure is required.
  6. Self-tapping screws. For reliability, the main structural elements can be additionally secured using self-tapping screws.
  7. Sandpaper. Use it to clean all edges of the material to prevent injuries and cuts.
  8. Tape measure, ruler, simple pencil.

Additionally, you should prepare materials for decorating the house. To do this, you can use wallpaper or films that imitate them, colored paper and cardboard, film as flooring. You can also use pieces of linoleum, fabric, felt, laminate. Additionally you will need paints and glue. Plexiglass or plastic should be inserted into the windows.

Technology for making a dollhouse from plywood

For making doll house from plywood, first of all, you need to transfer the images from the sketch to the plywood. To do this, the elements of the drawing should be printed or drawn by hand, and then transferred to sheets of material.

The parts should be cut out using a jigsaw, after which the edges should be carefully sanded so that the edges of all parts are even and smooth. If the windows are not indicated on the diagram, at this stage they need to be marked on the blanks, cut out and also processed with sandpaper.

A simple version of a dollhouse

After this, you can proceed directly to assembling the house:

  1. Using construction glue and self-tapping screws, you need to attach the side walls to the base.
  2. The ceilings of the second and third floors, as well as all internal partitions, must be mounted on the side walls. If the parts were not cut very carefully and gaps have formed between them, you can cover them with a special putty for wood and then paint them.
  3. A roof is installed, which can be cut from corrugated paper and the same plywood. If paper is used, it must be painted in the form of tiles. When using plywood, tiles are glued to the roof, which must be cut from colored paper, cardboard or other decorative materials.
  4. Installation interior decoration. Pieces of linoleum, carpet, felt or fabric can be used to finish the floors. The walls are covered with wallpaper, colored fabric, film or painted with gouache.
  5. Furniture manufacturing. For a plywood house, the furniture is best made from the same material. In some cases good decision There will also be the use of ready-made furniture, which can be purchased in sets or separately in children's toy stores.
  6. House painting. It can be painted in various colors with gouache or watercolor. However, plywood is an aesthetic material, so you can leave it without painting.

Additionally, near the house you can make a small garden in which cardboard flowers and trees will grow. This will make the toy even more delicate and beautiful. appearance.

After assembling the structure, all that remains is to decorate the interior space

House design

After manufacturing, the frame should be decorated various materials, and also place doll accessories in the rooms. At this stage, no instructions are required; you can decorate the house to your liking. However, some useful tips can help:

  • walls and floor wooden house it is not necessary to decorate or paste over with decorative elements;
  • for swing windows and doors, special small metal door hinges should be used;
  • Windows should be decorated with sheets of fabric to create curtains.

IN finished house You can place your favorite dolls and other toys. Making a house from plywood is not difficult, and the child’s joy from owning such a toy is priceless. A beautiful dollhouse will also become a real decoration for a child's room.

Examples of a do-it-yourself plywood dollhouse

A do-it-yourself plywood house for Barbie allows you to save money to build an exclusive version of the most expensive analogues. You can include all sorts of little things and improvised materials in your work, as well as the most unusual color solutions and various decorations.

Installation features

To develop a house, one is used façade wall, on the other hand, the product has an open design, which makes it easy to play. You can put up all the walls. Then you will need a folding roof. The design of such a product is made up of one floor.

Attention! The size of the house can have small parameters and a three-dimensional design with several rooms.

If you have to choose, then a structure with one wall on several floors is selected for games. Each floor is equipped with 2 rooms. Stairs are created between the floors, between different rooms– arches or doors. The windows of the building are presented in open form. To do this, cut out rectangular holes. To give the most approximate execution, glass and frames are used. The best option is plexiglass.

Preparation of materials and equipment

To work you will need a list of elements:

  • To choose from: MDF boards, fiberboard, non-laminated HDF, regular laminate. The thickness of the panels is 5-7 mm. The parameters are determined by the size of the structure.
  • Electric jigsaw.
  • “Moment-joiner” adhesive base for wall ceilings and roofs, PVA glue or wallpaper glue for paper elements.
  • Scotch.
  • Paint for paper surface(based on acrylic, gouache, watercolor), felt-tip pens.
  • Sections of wallpaper ( the best option there will be a small drawing).
  • Corrugated cardboard for “slate” roofing (internal placement of the layer).
  • Solid rulers for staircase design(the design and inscription are first erased from them using abrasive sandpaper).
  • pencil, measuring instruments and scissors.
  • Self-adhesive film covering for wood-like floor surfaces.

For the manufacture of furniture and accessories, materials are selected individually.

Technology for creating a house

  • For workpiece necessary details pre-created drawings are used. 3 wall surfaces, 3 transverse elements for floors and vertical parts are cut out to provide the role of walls in the house.
  • The roof is important. Using a jigsaw, openings for windows and doors are carefully cut out. To do this, just drill small gaps in the corners.
  • The middle of the building is glued together, the joints are made using tape.
  • The back wall surface is glued.
  • Partitions are installed inside the house.
  • There is an attic roof. To create such products, the presence of a roof is not necessary. But in the considered option, the inhabitants of the house will be located in the attic.
  • There are windows on the roof.

  • “Tiles” are cut from cardboard sheets. For this purpose it is used thin layer cardboard
  • A corrugated layer of cardboard is glued on and painted.
  • The walls are painted or wallpapered. Film is used to finish the floor surface.
  • The rulers are sawed and the staircase structure is glued together.
  • The march is being mounted. Furniture is arranged and curtains are hung.

In an educated house one wall is missing. This ensures free movement of toys and the creation of various permutations. Curtains are hung, a fireplace made of matchboxes is installed, carpets.

If the product is made from chipboard panels, it is important to ensure that the screws are well hidden and prevent children from unscrewing them.

Wall surfaces can be treated with wallpaper or colored paper. The ceilings are covered with ordinary white sheets.

For flooring, pieces of real carpet are used. Alternatively, you can use thick fabric. Often small rugs or sheets of linoleum are laid.

The plywood structure is left in a natural design or painted in bright shades.

When creating interior decoration, it is important to provide the necessary accessories, from curtains and bedding sets to tea sets.

Products are cut from plywood (for calculations, the unit of measurement is in inches, 1 inch = 2.54 cm).

All parts are processed using sandpaper. This eliminates the possibility of wounds forming during children's games.

The parts are assembled according to plan: the back side (A), the side walls (D), the wall for the front of the building (E). The products are attached to the upper base element (B).

Options window frames will be 9 by 6.25 inches. The triangular window has the same width. Its height and configuration of the long part coincide with the angle of the roof.

A jigsaw is used to cut out windows. The elements are assembled using nails and a hammer. The gaps in the structure are covered with a primer. Can be painted with colored paint.

It's hard to imagine a child's room without toys. But toy is different from toy, many of them imply a kind of “addition”: a garage for a car, an airfield for an airplane and, of course, a do-it-yourself dollhouse made of plywood for your beloved Barbie.

Dollhouses: features of choice

These structures are very popular and varied.

But in practice, the main determining factor both when purchasing and when self-production, it turns out the child’s age, not beauty or versatility.

  • It is still difficult for a baby from 1 to 3 years old to handle small complex objects. Her dolls are simple - plastic or rag, designed for a short lifespan. Accordingly, the dollhouse should match: small, durable, without complex decorations and complex shapes furniture. The design is as simple and durable as possible. Wood is recommended as a material; birch plywood is suitable.
  • For a child from 3 to 5, you can make a more serious toy. The dimensions are needed, the layout is more complicated, here you can already install doors, balconies, and verandas. The dimensions of the product are selected to match the size of the dolls. There may be no furniture: let the child select the sets independently. But you can involve him in the decoration: choose the color, wallpaper pattern, and so on.

Material – wood or plywood. They will no longer test the product, but they will definitely disassemble, assemble, and place the cat Murzik, who is too big for this purpose, in the room.

The option for girls from 5 to 10 should be complex and multifaceted. The layout of a plywood dollhouse is tailored to the child’s needs. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the change in the nature of the game: a girl or boy does not just repeat everyday scenes, but builds a plot, fantasizes, and attracts popular characters from cartoons.

The toy house becomes a playground for school, kindergarten, hospital and store. Its parameters increase in accordance with your favorite dolls - as a rule, these are Barbie or Winx. The photo shows an option for Barbie.

Material selection

The choice here is small, since safety is a very important factor for children.

  • Tree - best option, because it is durable and does not cause allergies. In addition, the tree is easy to process and cut, so there are no questions about how to make a house out of it. The only recommendation: make do with a minimum of dyes and use only water-soluble paints.
  • Plywood sheets - especially birch, are also quite suitable option. The material is durable and light, and is quite suitable for DIY work. Preference is given to non-moisture resistant FBA with albumin casein glue. The glue does not emit any fumes and has an animal organic origin, so it is much safer than urea or melamine. The photo shows a plywood house.
  • Chipboard - you can use it, but only in toys for older children. It is strictly forbidden to try on the “tooth” of chipboard. In addition, only chipboard with a low emission class is suitable for children's rooms.

Materials and tools

Before deciding how to make a toy according to the diagram, you need to prepare all the necessary materials.

  • Birch plywood – 5–7 mm thick.
  • Jigsaw or jigsaw.
  • Wood glue, PVA glue, tape.
  • Corrugated cardboard for the roof.
  • Ruler, tape measure, pencil.
  • Materials for decoration: paints, pieces of wallpaper, self-adhesive film, pieces of fabric and so on.

How to make a dollhouse with your own hands from plywood according to the diagram

A drawing of the product can be found on the relevant websites, or you can develop it yourself. In the first case, you just need to transfer the finished parts onto a plywood sheet and assemble the product. In the second case, there are no step-by-step instructions, but the dollhouse can be designed for the most non-standard sizes for any doll.

In any case, the toy will be unique, since even when using a ready-made scheme, the design is selected to suit the child’s taste.

The dimensions of the plywood dollhouse are selected in accordance with the dimensions of the dolls. If the finished drawing does not fit these parameters, but suits you as a design, all the details just need to be enlarged proportionally. The number of walls can also be varied. The front wall is traditionally absent, which allows the dolls to be moved freely.

However, with large dimensions of the toy, this may not be enough, so another wall is removed - the back or side, and the rest of the work is done according to a step-by-step scheme.

  1. Drawings of a plywood dollhouse are made on paper. Calculate the dimensions of all parts taking into account fastening tolerances.
  2. The parts are transferred to plywood. If there is no extensive experience in such matters, it is better to first make the elements from paper, and, after making sure that they correspond to what was intended, transfer the drawing to a plywood sheet.
  3. Jigsaw or electric tool parts are cut out of the material: back, side walls, internal partitions, ceilings, and so on. Door and window openings are cut out in the “walls”. The photo shows a working moment.
  4. All corners must be sanded with sandpaper.
  5. Following step by step instructions, assemble the parts with glue. The joints are taped. Lastly, install the back wall.
  6. The internal partitions are secured in the same way.
  7. From corrugated cardboard cut out the roof and glue it with PVA glue. You can use wooden rulers to cut steps for stairs and window elements, assemble a door frame and cover it with film.
  8. Then they start decorating: paint, wallpaper, fabric are used - everything that is at hand. You can use ready-made furniture or make it yourself from cardboard or matches, for example.

The video shows step by step sequence assembling a toy house.

A doll house is every girl's dream. Here they are ready to play selflessly for hours, without suspecting that they are gradually preparing themselves for future role wives, mothers, housewives. And it’s not difficult to bring such joy to a girl.

Alexander Zalivako from Moscow shares his experience.

Is it possible to compare the building children's house with real construction? It's a toy house. But, as practice has shown, the approach in both cases should be equally serious and competent in engineering, constructive and technical terms. I used FC plywood as the material for making the house (Fig. 1). For the side walls, shelves (floors) and partitions I chose plywood 8 mm thick, for the back wall - 3 mm thick.

Minimum set of tools

For the manufacture of parts and assembly DIY dollhouse You will need a jigsaw, a drill (preferably with a stand), a fine-toothed hacksaw, two clamps, a file, and a soldering iron. Having a hand-held circular saw will speed up the work significantly. In addition, you will need a screwdriver, hammer, nails, screws and glue.

Materials for a toy house

Two sheets of plywood: 1,525 x 1,525 x 8 mm and 1,525 x 1,525 x 3 mm (for ease of transportation, plywood sheets are each cut into two parts: 950 x 1,525 x 8 mm and 575 x 1,525 x 8 mm; 1 000 x 1,525 x 3 mm and 525 x 1,525 x 3 mm).

Slats: round 0 6x1 000 mm, square 10x 10x 1 500 mm.

Components for organizing lighting in a homemade dollhouse.

Ultra-bright LEDs (size 5050, light - warm white, 3,000 K); 34-core FRC flat cable; toggle switches MTS-102 A1; resistors; PBS 5-0.5 power supply with 2.5 plug; power socket for panel DS-026C 2.5. The value of the resistor R (Ohm) depends on the voltage drop across the LED Ud (V) and the current consumption I (A):

R = (Upit – Ud)/I V in this case: Ugbn = 5 V; Ud = 3 V; I = 0.035 A, then (5 – 3)/0.035 = 57 Ohms, choose the resistor of the closest value: 56 Ohms. If three LEDs are installed in parallel, the current increases 3 times - accordingly, the resistor value is reduced to 18 Ohms.

Making toy house parts

When marking the parts of the house, you must not only take into account their rational location on the sheet, but also remember that with FC construction plywood, usually one side can be cleaner and neater than the other. So, the finished side of the shelves and roof should be on top, and the side walls should be on the outside.

Eight partitions (Fig. 2) are made from rectangles measuring 247 x 200 x 8 mm, making the necessary cuts with a jigsaw, and then carefully processing the edges with a file.

The shelves (interfloor ceilings) are cut with a hacksaw (four rectangles measuring 247 x 894 x 8 mm and one rectangle measuring 222 x 894 x 8 mm). The width of the bottom shelf (Fig. 3) is selected according to location (due to the presence of a plinth). In the upper shelves, cutouts for stairs are made using a jigsaw (some of them can be made with a hacksaw).

When cutting out the side walls, remember that their lower edges have a slight bevel. Cutouts for the plinth are determined by location. Windows in the side walls are cut out with a jigsaw, having previously drilled holes for inserting the saw. Window openings cleaned with a file.

Not only the appearance, but also the strength and stability of the entire structure will depend on the accuracy and thoroughness of the manufacture of parts.

A device for cutting parts of the same width consists of a plywood base with a cut and a guide and a strip to be cut pressed to it: 1 - a jigsaw; 2 – strip to be cut; 3 – clamps; 4 – guide; 5 – workbench.

Photo 1. The assembled frame of the house. The parts are fitted. 2. The back wall is attached to the house and connected with self-tapping screws. and roof

Assembling a toy house

When all the parts are ready, begin assembly, starting with attaching the partitions to the shelves with self-tapping screws.

Each is screwed with three self-tapping screws, having previously drilled guide holes, taking into account the location of some partitions on top of each other.

After assembling the entire structure of the house from 3 mm plywood, cut out the back wall in place (Fig. 4) and nail it with small shoe nails to the rear edges of the partitions and shelves, and attach the roof.

Note:

At the assembly stage, some difficulties may arise due to the fact that the parts are slightly different from each other, and the untreated plywood “leads” a little.

To solve the problem, you need to unscrew one of the lower partitions without disassembling the structure.

Due to this, it receives an additional degree of freedom, and the side wall can be easily screwed on. After this, the partition is adjusted to the location (or a new one is made). Although its dimensions differ little from the dimensions of other partitions, the structure is already assembled without tension.

Assembling stairs in a dollhouse

The stairs (Fig. 5) had to be made in typesetting. First, from long scraps of 8mm plywood, I cut circular saw strips 20 mm wide, and then cut them into strings and steps. Large quantity I sawed identical steps with a jigsaw using a simple device (Fig. 6).

I assembled the ladder as follows. Having placed one string on the workbench, he placed two steps on it at some distance from the ends as spacers, placed a second string on top of them, and then pulled this assembly of stairs together with a clamp. After that, I took the first (top) step for the stairs and, having coated its ends with glue, placed it between the strings in the desired position, and secured it with nails. Having removed the clamp and taken out the spacers, I installed the lowest step, making sure the strings were parallel. In the area of the bottom step, I again placed a clamp and pulled the ladder together. After that, I installed all the steps step by step - from top to bottom. When installing, setting the step, I used an extra step without glue as a spacer, since the distance between the steps is equal to the thickness of the step itself. I constantly monitored the angle of installation of the steps so that errors would not accumulate by the end of the staircase assembly.

Balcony fence in a toy house

The balcony fencing consists of three sections of identical design (Fig. 7). To make it, slats with a cross section of 10 x 10 mm and round sticks 0 6 mm for balusters were required. Having cut pairs of slats for sections and drilled blind holes in them for balusters, each section was first assembled dry for testing.

After that, a drop of glue was applied to each hole of one rail and baluster sticks were inserted. A drop of glue was also applied to each hole of the second rail, and it was placed on sticks inserted into the first rail. Until the glue set, I leveled the structure, placed it between two flat sheets of plywood and tightened it with a clamp to eliminate possible screw distortion of the fence before the glue dried.

Advice

When making a balcony fencing, the holes in the slats must be coaxial; it is advisable to drill them with a drill fixed in a rack and a wood drill. Some larger diameter holes compared to the diameter of the balusters will allow them to fit correctly in case of misalignment of the holes. The depth of the holes should be sufficient so that the balusters do not rest against their bottom.

3.Moment of assembly of the interfloor staircase. The lower string is fixed on the workbench with a clamp.
4. Three interfloor stairs are ready for installation in the house.
5.The finished staircase is glued between the shelves ( interfloor ceilings) house. 6. Side wall house with installed lighting toggle switches. The toggle switches can be secured with glue from turning. 7. LED lighting can also be glued to the ceiling.

8. The assembled balcony railing is glued to the upper platform. 9. The house is furnished with toy furniture and inhabited by inhabitants. In the dark room lighting The house looks very impressive.

Lighting is provided using 10 LEDs in the rooms and on the floors of the house. The LEDs are powered by a power adapter with an output voltage of 5 V and a maximum current of 0.5 A. The total current consumption of all LEDs is 0.35 A.

The light is turned on using toggle switches located on the right side wall of the house. From inside the house, the soldered contacts of the toggle switches are covered with a removable casing, screwed with self-tapping screws. The casing is a plywood plate 247 x 200 x 3 mm with two parts 200 x 20 x 8 mm glued to the edges.

LEDs with soldered conductors can be glued into holes drilled in the walls of rooms under the ceiling or glued directly to the ceiling. The wires are routed through holes in the rear wall to the corresponding toggle switches.

I used cyanoacrylate glue to secure the LEDs and wires. Wires used in PVC insulation. I marked the ends of the wires using a tester and soldered them accordingly (Fig. 8).
