What to feed the tits. Titmouses-sisters spend the winter with us and welcome spring

Many people feed in winter period birds. And, not in vain. Indeed, in winter it is much more difficult for them to get food for themselves. And if a bird remains hungry for the night at least once, then it will not live until morning. But there are so many benefits from them: they destroy pests and delight with their chirping. So why not help them during the cold and difficult time of the year?

However, you need to know some rules and features of how to do it correctly. Otherwise, human virtue can be fatally destructive for our feathered neighbors on the planet.

A little about the features of feeding birds

The very first thing that everyone who wants to help the birds needs to know is what needs to be fed, and not take full responsibility for food. Why? Yes, everything is very simple: the bird will definitely remember the place where food will be left for it and will fly there constantly. And, if food is always available, then she will simply lose the ability to get food for herself on her own.

As a result, it may turn out that a person abandons this activity. It doesn't matter for whatever reason: maybe he just won't have time, or it will be connected with the move. Man will not even think about accustomed birds. And they can die of hunger because of this.

In addition, there is also the danger that birds, having ceased to find food for themselves on their own, may lose the intake of many useful and necessary substances for them, which they can only get by eating naturally.

Also, if you really feed, then it would be best to accustom the birds to dinner in the feeder shortly before dark. So you can be sure that they will be full at night, which means they will not freeze until morning.

The next feature is that not all products can be put into the feeder. Some of them are very harmful to birds. Many can do them fatal harm. But more on that later.

And in this regard, it is worth knowing which birds will visit the feeder in order to choose the right food for them. Better yet, choose a menu that suits all possible feathered diners.

Basically, tits, sparrows, goldfinches, siskins and some other species fly there to feast on. Basically, these are insectivorous birds. They do not fly for the winter, because they know that they can get frozen insects from the bark of trees. However, despite this, there is still much less food for them in winter. These birds, in addition to insects, feed on grain, seeds and berries. In summer and autumn, there are plenty of them for good nutrition. But in winter - no.

Can be visited by feeders and woodpeckers. And, of course, crows and magpies will love the free treat. So, if it is supposed to feed small birds, then you need to pay attention to the size of the future feeder. It will need to be made such that big birds could not get there.

Birds such as sparrows and tits perceive the neighborhood with humans calmly. They are, as a rule, regular visitors to "bird canteens". These birds are city dwellers.

And if there is a desire to feed goldfinches, siskins or nuthatches, then it is best to place feeders for them outside the city in a quiet and calm place.

Making a bird feeder

Making a bird feeder isn't difficult at all. And, this can be done from almost any handy material. Not only planks can be used, but also plywood, plastic bottles and much more. But, it is very important not to forget that it snows very often in winter. And from him the feeder can simply get wet. Then you have to make a new one. So, it's better to make one right away that can last the whole winter. This means that the material for it must be chosen moisture-resistant.

When making a feeder, keep in mind that it will be comfortable for the birds to eat from it. They must reach the feed without hindrance. Of course, there should not be any sharp or cutting parts on which the bird could be injured.

You should also take care that the future feeder is protected as best as possible from snow falling into it and from the fact that the food can be scattered by the wind. But, with all this, one must not forget about its convenience for birds.

It is best to place feeders on tree branches. You can also attach them to buildings. They should be located higher. So it will be better for the birds to notice it and also, it will be safer for them. Indeed, during a meal, a predator may also sneak up, and a bird may not notice it.

What shouldn't be put in the bird feeders?

So, the trough is ready. Now you need to fill it with a bird treat. What can be put in them, and what can not? After all, some products can be deadly for birds!

First, consider what categorically cannot be left as a treat for them. Firstly, in no case should you feed them with foods that have expired, musty, sour and fermented foods. You can't feed them fried, too salty.

You cannot pour sunflower seeds into the feeders. But many do this without knowing about their harm to birds. You can't feed many of them with bread either. Mostly small birds. A small amount of dry bread crumbs is still acceptable, especially for tits. Also, you can safely feed pigeons with bread. For others, it will cause indigestion. Pigeons are not afraid of this, due to their larger size. And the titmouse is practically omnivorous. And her digestive system is more susceptible to many foods that are not suitable for others.

Almonds and fruit seeds can cause poisoning in birds. Also, do not pour millet for them. Mushrooms and potatoes, as well as rice, are hard to digest. Therefore, they should not be placed in the feeders either.

Do not feed birds with products containing acetic acid and preservatives, various food additives, seasonings and spices. Naturally, canned food is also unacceptable for their nutrition. And, you can not leave for them food intended for pets: cats and dogs.

All of these foods listed here are highly hazardous to birds. Some of them can cause poisoning, others - indigestion.

What can you feed the birds?

What is suitable for the subcortex of birds in winter? You can leave pearl barley and rolled oats for them in the feeders. They will be safe for everyone. If you put bread crumbs, then they should be from a wheat bun. Also, they must be dry. Also, you can not pour only them. They must be mixed with something else. The only exception is the feeding of pigeons. Many people simply paint a loaf of bread for them, which they eat with pleasure.

The menu for tits is much more varied. They can be treated with both unsalted bacon and a hard-boiled egg. The main thing is to grind the product. You can feed them with cottage cheese.

Since birds feed on seeds and berries in their natural environment, it will be a good surprise for them to see this in the feeder. However, not all seeds should be added there. Those that cannot be given to them have already been written above.

What can you do? Melon, watermelon, cucumber and zucchini, eggplant seeds are ideal for them. Before serving these bird seeds, they should be rinsed and thoroughly dried after being removed from the vegetable. And only then it will be possible to feed the birds with them in winter. Store stocks of such food in a dry place. If feeding small birds is supposed and pumpkin seeds are used for this, then they must first be pounded. After all, they will be too large for them, and the birds will not be able to grind them on their own.

Birds also love to feast on dried fruits. You can cut into slices and dry apples, pears for them. Moreover, such a treat can simply be strung on a thread in the form of a garland and hung on a tree. Birds will peck it with pleasure. You can also add dried rose hips to this composition. But other berries, such as rowan, should not be plucked from the tree and then given to the birds. They will peck them off the branches anyway.

Oats are well suited for winter feeding of birds. Also millet. It will be nice to add to the main feed and eggshell... Of course, it does not need to be left entirely in the troughs. They need to be crushed, crushed. This food supplement will help to strengthen the bone tissue of birds.

So, food can also be useful for them. And in general, it is very good to make mixtures from the listed products. So the bird menu will be varied, more tasty and healthy.

Flocks of titmouses can be seen in city parks all year round. They spend most of the day in search of food, often returning to the same places with feeders. That only people do not put in bird feeders, but not all products can be fed to them.

Below we will consider what can be used to feed the titmouses in winter and what absolutely must not be given, so as not to cause irreparable harm to the health of the birds.

How to feed titmouses in winter

With the onset of cold weather, titmouses switch from insects to plant food.

The following products can be used as feed for tits:

  1. Special garlands for birds: string berries, dried fruits, nuts on a rope and hang them in the garden.
  2. Unfried seeds of pumpkin, sunflower, watermelon, melon. They should never be rotten or moldy.
  3. Walnuts are also a favorite food for tits. The kernels of the nuts need to be removed from the shell and crushed a little to make it easier for the tits to eat them.
  4. Raisins, peanuts, hop cones, dry cherries, chokeberry will also help the birds get enough nutrients and vitamins.
Note: Also, titmouses can be fed with small pieces of butter, hard-boiled eggs and chopped on a grater. These birds are very fond of unsalted bacon or lightly salted cheese.

What else can you feed the blue tit on frosty days? Certain species of tits are stocked up for the winter with food, but the tit that we see near our houses is called the big tit and it does not make supplies (Figure 1).

Therefore, in the fall, you can prepare the following feed for her:

  1. The seeds of such crops: sunflower, wheat, hemp, rye, oats, corn.
  2. Berries: mountain ash, black and red elderberry, hawthorn, blueberry, irgi.
  3. Mistletoe berries.
  4. Seeds of trees: pine, spruce, linden, beech, maple, hazel, birch, lilac.
  5. Weed seeds: horse sorrel, burdock, etc.

Figure 1. In winter, birds find it difficult to do without human help

All of these foods should be extremely fresh and unprocessed, as salty or fried foods can negatively affect the health of birds and even lead to their death.

Rules for feeding birds in winter

The main rule that should be remembered when helping birds to survive the winter and not harm their health is not to feed, but only to feed. Adequate feeding means that a person takes the birds for his maintenance and provides them with a full daily ration, and feeding only partially provides the titmouses with food, especially in severe frosts.

Note: It is very important to observe this rule, because with the constant presence of food in the feeder, the birds stop looking for food on their own - they do not pick up plant seeds, they do not look for insects in the bark of trees. At the same time, their diet is greatly impoverished, as they begin to choose the most delicious, leaving everything else. Monotonous and heavy food negatively affects the health of birds, first of all, their liver suffers.

Another reason why birds cannot be fed fully is that they get used to feeding from feeders and forget about finding food on their own. If a person, for some reason, suddenly abandons the feeders, then his wards will spend invaluable time waiting for food and will not have time to get enough before nightfall. Two to three hours without food and the bird may not survive the frosty night.

In order not to render the birds a disservice, you can fill the feeders no more than 1-2 times a day. When the titmouses have eaten everything and ask for supplements, you do not need to refill the feeders, since in in this case you will harm the birds themselves. It is better to feed two hours before dusk, so that the birds will definitely not fly away hungry for the night. If you do not have this opportunity, then fill the feeders in the morning, then the birds will have the opportunity to find food for themselves before dark (Figure 2).

Figure 2. You should feed the titmouses according to certain rules

Another important rule counts correct placement feeders. It is necessary to hang houses for tits at a height of one and a half meters so that you can easily fill the feeders, as well as remove the remaining food from them. Do not hang feeders near roads and windows.

What can you feed titmouses in winter

V wildlife in the warm season, titmouses feed on beetles, weevils, butterfly caterpillars, dipterans (mosquitoes, midges, flies), aphids. With the onset of cold snaps in their diet, plant foods make up most of them. In the fields, they pick up grains of wheat, corn, oats, rye (Figure 3).

In the forests, they feed on seeds and fruits of spruce, pine, maple, birch, linden, lilac. In addition, they eat seeds of burdock, horse sorrel, pickles, blueberries, irgi, rowan, sunflower.

In your garden or in a city park, you can feed your tits with not fried seeds of a sunflower, watermelon, pumpkin, melon, or not salted bacon. You can also saturate birds with hemp and corn seeds, dried berries of hawthorn, rose hips, irgi, elderberry, blueberry, red and black mountain ash. They love titmouses and grains of corn, oats, wheat and rye.

You can give dried fruits and dried cherries by sprinkling them in a feeder or stringing them on a string. The birds will be very happy with the nuts, but they need to be chopped a little, and in no case should they be salted.

In addition, tits can be treated with light-salted cheese, cut into small pieces, and butter. You can melt the butter a little and add various seeds and grains to it, freeze in small pieces and hang on trees.

Figure 3. For feeding, use natural products without salt

You can give dry crumbs of white bread, lean beef and cottage cheese, grated hard-boiled egg. Pet stores sell special bird mixes.

It is important to fill the feeders at the same time, then the birds will get used to it and will visit the feeders at that time. And you should not constantly fill the feeders after the birds have eaten everything, 1-2 times a day is enough, otherwise the birds will forget how to get their own food. It is better to fill the feeders before dark so that the birds are full by night.

Food for titmouses in the winter feeder

Despite the fact that you can only feed the birds certain types feed, the list of permitted food products is quite extensive.

To prevent the birds from starving to death in severe frost, the feeder can be filled with:

  1. Sunflower or pumpkin seeds, not salted or fried. They contain a huge amount nutrients, contributing to better tolerance of frost.
  2. Unsalted bacon and meat: in severe frosts, pieces of bacon or lean scraped beef are hung on a string.
  3. Millet, wheat, oatmeal: all grain eaters like these cereals, and titmouses are no exception.
  4. Butter, especially in severe frosts, will become a valuable source of energy and will help birds survive the cold.
  5. The hard-boiled grated egg is a valuable source of protein, essential for energy conservation.

Figure 4. To dispense food, you should equip a special feeder

If you do not have the opportunity to feed the titmouses with these products, you can always put finely chopped fresh apple, or sprinkle with low-fat cottage cheese mixed with regular bread crumbs (Figure 4).

What can not be fed to titmouses in winter

Everyone knows that fermented, spoiled or moldy foods should not be fed to birds. But besides this, there is also a huge list of products that are familiar to humans, but harmful and even lethal for birds (Figure 5).

Although titmouses are considered unpretentious in terms of feeding, the following foods can cause irreparable harm to them:

  1. Salted seeds, crackers, pistachios, bacon, cookies: It is difficult for the body of birds to remove excess salt, since they do not have sweat glands, so all the work goes to the kidneys, and they can not withstand the increased load. Also, salts can be deposited in the joints, which will lead to disruption of the musculoskeletal system of the bird and give it a lot of pain.
  2. Rye (black) bread: he begins to wander very quickly, often already in the goiter of the bird, making it difficult and sometimes blocking breathing, since the goiter from gases expands and presses on the trachea.
  3. Fresh wheat bread: it often causes indigestion as it becomes a sticky mass that moves very slowly through the digestive system.
  4. Roasted seeds and hazelnuts: in such food, fats and carcinogens are dangerous, from the excess of which the pancreas and liver will suffer.
  5. Cherry, Peach, Apricot and Almond Seeds: they contain hydrocyanic acid and their excessive use is dangerous even for humans.
  6. Potato: Raw potatoes contain the alkaloid solanine, which can be seriously poisoned by birds. Boiled potatoes are almost like pure starch, which is very difficult for the digestive system of birds.
  7. Millet: the cleaned millet is covered with fine bitter dust, which the housewives wash off before cooking with hot water.
  8. Mushrooms: they accumulate heavy and radioactive metals, and they also carry clostridial spores, which give rise to botulism.
  9. Food for cats and dogs, especially cheap ones: they contain fat, yeast, soy and attractants. These are common flavor enhancers that make animals eat artificial food.

Figure 5. Prohibited and permitted foods for birds

Also, do not fill the bird feeder with canned food, since these products contain sugar, salt, vinegar, spices, flavors and preservatives, which are of no use to titmice and can undermine their health. In addition, compound feed for chickens is extremely undesirable for birds.

In general, we can conclude that it is better to feed wild birdies with the most natural natural food that they can theoretically find in the wild. You can find more information on this topic in the video.

Tits are a genus of birds belonging to the order of passerines and the family of titmice. Their most famous species is the great tit, which lives throughout Europe, the Middle East, Central and North Asia, and also in parts of North Africa. In the wild, tits can be found in deciduous and mixed forests, in meadows, on the edges, near the shores of water bodies.

As a rule, tits are non-migratory birds. Therefore, most of them do not migrate anywhere from cold regions at all, wintering side by side with humans. If we talk about the zoological classification of these birds, then until 2005 the species of tits included many different subspecies. However, DNA studies have shown that some of these subspecies differ markedly from the great tits. That is why they were allocated in certain types... As for the great tit, this bird species remains the largest and most numerous in the whole world, in particular on the territory of Russia.

What does a titmouse look like?

Since the great tit is the most common representative of this genus of birds, further acquaintance with these birds should be continued with her example. The great tit is distinguished by its black head and neck, white cheeks that are conspicuous. The top of these birds has an olive tint, and the bottom is yellow. In principle, the color of the plumage of these creatures varies somewhat depending on their many subspecies.

What does the titmouse eat?

V summer period these birds feed on insects. In winter, their menu has a wider range: for example, the great tit is happy to feast on those who have fallen into hibernation. bats, gradually pecking them up. In addition, in winter, titmice switch to plant food, eating mountain ash and other berries, as well as feasting on seeds from feeders.

Titmouse lifestyle

When spring claims its rights, the chirping of tits is heard in the forests, parks, orchards and vegetable gardens. These sounds are made by males. The fact is that spring is the time for acquaintances and arrangement of their homes. Only females are engaged in the construction of nests. It is curious that great tits do not bother themselves at all with a long choice of nesting sites. Like starlings, these birds can arrange their homes in iron pipes, and in the cracks of rocks, and in the walls of abandoned houses. Tits like to occupy abandoned birdhouses.

They line their nests with layers of moss and wool. After a while, up to 10 chicks are born. Young tits leave their parental home 20 days after their birth. For some time, their parents take care of them, and then send them on an independent journey. As mentioned above, the vast majority of tits are non-migratory birds. However, in search of food in winter, they gather in flocks and fly from place to place. Great tits linger where there is most food.

The titmouse is a useful bird!

These feathered creatures provide irreplaceable benefits to parks, forests and gardens. During the day, they eat an amount of insects equal to their own weight. That is why people need to feed these birds in winter. Tits are friendly birds, they willingly visit feeders, feeding on sunflower seeds, unsalted lard, milk cream.

Every autumn we see the same sad picture - flocks of birds fly away to the south so as not to perish from hunger and severe frosts. But not all fly away, some stay, hoping to survive cold winter, but only one in ten tits succeeds.

Woodpeckers, bullfinches, jays, crossbills winter in the forest, but titmouses and sparrows often fly into the city, so many of us, trying to brighten up their unenviable existence, take care by putting them food.

But do we know how to do it correctly, how to feed the tits, and what food is good for the health of birds. After all, bird watchers believe that certain foods can cause disease and be fatal.

The birds have their own problems

Birds are warm-blooded; under normal conditions, their body has a temperature of about 40C. When the temperature environment drops below 0C, birds must eat well to maintain normal thermoregulation. If this does not happen, overnight the tiny body cools down in the cold and the bird dies. If the birdie has spent the night, at dawn it sets off to get itself at least a little food, pecking at the bark of trees, climbing under the snow or pecking at the ice.

Some are more fortunate - they find feeders where caring people pour food, and then the chances of feeling the warmth of the first spring rays increase significantly.

It is especially important that there is food in the feeder when winter is nearing the end, at this time the body of the birds is especially weakened and needs additional feeding.

The immunity of titmouses allows them to survive winters without human help, of course, if those are not very cold, but an independent search for food for a sparrow, a pigeon and a mallard duck often ends in vain, therefore sparrows huddle near houses and buildings, hoping for human mercy.

It is not difficult to lay out the food in the feeder, feeding pigeons, sparrows or tits with lard or millet is unlikely to be felt by anyone financial losses, so why are there so few who want to save their lives, because everyone likes to admire their singing or look at the plumage. Our ancestors did not consider this to be labor, they even left an uncompressed strip on the field to help the winter birds. This is how they showed their concern.

But to feed any living creatures, including birds, you need, as they say, "wisely", we offer you some recommendations.

How birds should be fed

Even children know the feeding rules, but adults sometimes forget or neglect them.

Immediately, we draw your attention to the fact that we are not talking about feeding, but about bait. The word "complementary food" means only a part of the daily ration, the rest of the food the bird must find for itself. If you fill the pan every day to the top, the birds will quickly get used to it, and the ability to find food on their own will be lost.

The feeder is not difficult to make, for this you need a wide board, boards for the sides and a string in order to fix it on the branch. You can build a cover, then the contents of the trough will be sheltered from rain and snow. Anything can be used - milk bags, plastic bottles, any household utensils. The main thing is that the feeder is convenient for the birds. If you have very little experience in creating such structures, contact a pet store or bird market for a purchase. They hang the feeder in a secluded place so that it is not flooded with rain or snow and preferably as high as possible, otherwise the food will be eaten by rodents.

Hanging a feeder on the window of a city apartment is not the best choice... Not all neighbors may like the banging of their beaks on a plank, and besides, curious birds can fly through open windows by mistake. If possible, train the birds to feed at the same time, then the birds will spend the rest of the day in search of food on their own.

The portions should be such that the birds eat it at a time, but in frosty weather the portions need to be increased.

One more important point- if you started feeding the birds, continue to do so until spring. What a pity it is for birds that circle over empty feeders for a long time, hoping that there will be someone who will put at least something in them ...

What food to give the birds

Is it possible to give any food to tits - it turns out not. There are foods that are good for the health of birds, but there are, on the contrary, that can cause poisoning, illness and even death.

Pigeons and sparrows love to feast on grain, they like wheat, barley, seeds, cereals. The bread is not given in one piece, it is better to crumble it, then it will not harden in the cold.

Titmouses are given seeds, but not fried, crumbs of crackers, butter, unsalted lard. You can put a boiled and grated egg, raw beef, apple pieces in the feeder. The reserve of vitamin in the body will be replenished by birdhouses, mountain ash or hawthorn berries.

If you manage to establish contact with birds in the country, you will not regret it. Titmouses quickly get used to the place, they will visit you in the summer, and will help get rid of caterpillars, butterflies and weevils, and other pests of the garden and vegetable garden. And with the onset of spring, the first insects that appear on your site will be eaten by titmice or other birdies.

If you hang the feeder on the edge of the forest, add pieces of dry apple, biscuits, or nuts to it. A squirrel who looks into the feeder will surely like such a treat.

What to feed the tits in winter

Hungry little lumps will happily peck at whatever you give them, but how will they feel afterwards? Salt, entering the body of birds, causes poisoning and death, therefore they should not be given salted bacon, salted crackers, salted seeds and other products containing salt.

The death of tits can result in pecking of fried seeds, millet, fresh black bread.

Note for beginners

  • You cannot give porridge, if low temperatures the porridge will freeze. The grain is given raw, it must be dry.
  • In addition to lard and raw beef, titmouses will also benefit from other protein foods, for example, boiled meat or sausage.
  • Apples are a source of vitamins, which are lacking in the body of birds in winter. It is not necessary to cut it, the birds will peck it with pleasure.
  • Sometimes the birds are given table waste. You can do this, but make sure that the products mentioned above do not fall into the feeder.

Do not deprive yourself of pleasant moments of communication with birds. This is both relaxation, and exquisite pleasure, and a good deed, which is so important for birds and very easy for us. Teach children to this, and be sure they will grow up to be kind and strong people.

People have long treated titmouses with awe and even respect. Small birds are not only a fun object for observation, but can also bring tangible benefits to humans. By studying what tits eat, you can attract winged friends to your homes and household plots and help them survive in difficult times.

What do titmice eat in warm weather?

There is plenty of food for the birds at this time. Insects form the basis of the diet, as well as their larvae and eggs. Butterflies and grasshoppers, weevils and ants, crickets and dragonflies attract the attention of titmouses ... The bird does not disdain even such food that is not to the taste of most other birds, for example, the caterpillars of the hawthorn and silkworm.

Loot is not always on open place, but this does not become an obstacle for the nimble bird to feast on. Due to its size and beak structure, it is able to get food from the most secret places. The titmouse diligently examines cracks in tree bark, cracks in leaf axils and other insect shelters.

Tenacious paws also help to feed the agile bird. The titmouse deftly grabs the branches with its sharp bent claws and, swinging back down on them, carefully searches for its favorite food, the need for which is quite high among birds. How much does a titmouse eat? No less than it weighs itself!

Such gluttony of small pigalits is very attractive to gardeners. Indeed, very often insects that can damage fruit trees and other cultures planted by man. The result of the activity of birds will be a saved crop.

Tits also do not disdain plant food. The need for it increases in the fall, when the animal diet of birds is noticeably scarce. They look for seeds and, if it is necessary to get to the core, open the shell with strong blows from their beak. They eat birds and various fruits, pecking at them. In addition, they will never give up berries and tree buds.

How to help birds survive the winter

During this period, tits do not make cardinal flights to warm countries, but the lack of food and the onset of cold weather force them to leave forests and parks and settle closer to humans. So the birds have the opportunity to get more food, and the people - to help the tits to hold out until spring.

Smart birds quickly remember the places where the feeders are hung, and in noisy flocks they fly into the carefully prepared food. But it is worth noting that not every food that titmouses like is considered healthy for them. For example, fried and salted are harmful. And here is what kind of food you can pamper your winged pets:

  1. Seeds. Their tits are always eaten with pleasure, and not in vain - this product contains vegetable fats, which makes it an indispensable source of energy in difficult winter frost conditions for birds. Seeds are suitable both sunflower (unroasted) and larger ones - watermelon, melon. They can be stocked up from the fall, taking out the purchased fruits from the pulp and drying them. However, titmouses will not give up the seeds of such vegetables from the garden as zucchini and pumpkin.
  2. Grain and cereals. Birds will not mind eating millet, buckwheat, barley. Such food should be served dry, since the viscous porridge quickly freezes in winter.
  3. Berries and fruits. With them, useful vitamins enter the body of tits. Birds will certainly rejoice in the fruits of mountain ash and hawthorn dried in autumn and sprinkled in the titmouse. Healthy and nutritious for birds and apples. It is not necessary to grind them strongly - the birds themselves will pinch off pieces of the desired size.
  4. Nuts. An expensive delicacy, the tits will undoubtedly like it. They will peck both walnuts and other types of nuts. Such a hearty and high-calorie food will help the birds get through the harsh times.
  5. Salo. Almost everyone knows that tits love this product. Hanging unsalted slices are never overlooked by the birds. But not everyone knows why tits eat lard. And the fact is that such food is an excellent substitute for their natural food - insects. If you decide to pamper the birds in this way, you can make the pieces of bacon larger. Tits will thrust sharp claws into them and, hanging like this, will feast on their favorite food for their own pleasure.
  6. Meat. Birds also love him very much, although for some it will even be a revelation. In fact, titmouses willingly peck meat itself, in any form, and products made from it. For example, you can be generous and treat birds with pieces of sausage.

In winter, titmits need human support. And for this concern, the yellow-breasted fidgets will certainly repay with good!
