The principle of operation of aquastop. Dishwashers and aqua-stop system

Dishwashers are categorized into compact, narrow and full-size machines. Compact dishwashers are designed for washing 4-5 sets of dishes and have a size of 45x55x50 cm (Height / Width / Depth). Narrow dishwashers are designed for 7-9 sets of dishes and have a size of 82x45x59 (H / W / D) Full-size dishwashers, in turn, are designed for 13-15 sets of dishes and their size is. 82x60x59cm (H / W / D)
Note: A set of dishes is considered to be a set of dishes consisting of three different plates, a knife, three spoons, a cup and saucer and a glass for water.

Dividing dishwashers by installation method

According to the installation method, dishwashers can be divided into built-in and separately standing cars... The freestanding dishwasher is installed in any place where there is a possibility of supplying electricity, water supply and sewerage. Built-in dishwashers require a special Kitchen Cabinet for built-in appliances.

In freestanding dishwashers, the controls are located above the loading door. The machine can be operated at any time during the wash cycle.

Built-in dishwashers can also be divided according to the type of front door. The door can be finished with a handle and be itself front part kitchen set... And it can serve as the basis for hinging the door of the kitchen set. Thus, the dishwasher will not be visible and the kitchen façade will be uniform.

In built-in dishwashers, all machine controls are located at the end of the front door and therefore the machine can only be operated when the door is open. Therefore, if you started the car for washing, it will no longer be possible to turn it off until the end of the cycle.

Dividing dishwashers by heating element

If there is a heating element in the dishwasher, the heating element must be connected to the machine cold water... In the absence of a heating element, it is supplied to the machine hot water... The recommended water temperature is 65 * C. By the way about water, namely about the pressure of the water pressure, which is necessary for quality work dishwasher. Operating pressure plumbing should be between 100-1000 Pascals. At lower pressure, filling the machine with water will be very long, and the upper and lower rocker arms will rotate at a low speed, and the water splash will be poor and the dishes will not wash satisfactorily. (Read about the operation of the machine just below).

Also, dishwashers are divided according to such functions as: drying dishes, heating dishes after washing.

The control system is divided in dishwashers. The control system can be electromechanical or electronic, have a timer for delayed dishwashing (3/6/9 hours). Another important dishwasher option is the water leakage protection function, which is called the aqua-stop system. I will dwell on the operation of the Aqua-Stop system in more detail.

Dishwasher protection system against water leaks

Protection against leaks is called the aqua-stop system, aqua-stop, aqua-control.

water leakage protection system, Aqua-Stop

The aqua-stop system consists of:

  1. Block of solenoid valves;
  2. Water supply hose;
  3. Dishwasher tray;
  4. Control float;
  5. Security system wires;
  6. Reset buttons.

The "Aqua-stop" system works

The aqua-stop system works as follows

  • The solenoid valve block (1) consists of a service valve and a safety valve. Both are built into the water supply hose (2).
  • When the dishwasher is switched on in electrical network the safety valve is energized and opens, while the service valve is closed.
  • When the dishwasher is turned on in the washing mode (father-in-law by pressing the start button), the operating valve opens.
  • If water leaks, water enters the dishwasher pan (3). A control float (4) is installed in the pan. When water is added in the pan, the float begins to float and thus opens the electrical contact. The safety wire (5) cuts off the power to the safety valve and shuts off the water. The Aqua-stop system worked.
  • To bring the system into operation. The Reset button is intended. It must be pressed when eliminating all faults.
  • All famous brands of dishwashers have a leakage protection system - the aqua-stop system.

That's all for now! I wish you success in your endeavors!

Especially for the site:

Many remember an old advertisement, where one housewife was horrified to see a huge puddle spreading from under the washing machine. A flood is one of the worst disasters that can happen in an apartment. Therefore, manufacturers of washing machines made sure that this did not happen due to the fault of their technology. Protection against water leaks in washing machines of popular brands is implemented in a completely simple way. This system is called AquaStop and is also used in dishwashers. The protection system can be complete and partial.

Where is the protection installed and how it works

Washers from Bosch, Samsung and other brands use the AquaStop full protection system, which consists of several components:

  1. Extra thick water supply hose. Its supply is 70 bar, that is, seven times more than in the apartment water supply system.
  2. At the end of the hose there is a solenoid valve, similar to the main valve of a washing machine. It is also called a safety valve and controls the entire system. At rest, it is closed. Opens while the machine is turned on.
  3. Drip tray at the bottom of the device with a sensor float. When raised, the float closes the contacts and gives the command to close the emergency valve.

Washing machine flows

Thanks to the solenoid valve, the problem area is closed at the time of the leak. All conductors of this control loop are hidden in the outer sealed hose braid. If the hose is depressurized, water enters the sump at the bottom of the washer.

Also, the valve stops the water supply in such cases:

  • the working tank is leaking;
  • the drum is full;
  • damaged washing line;
  • excess washing powder- foam flows out.

Some machines are provided with an additional emergency pumping of water in case of failure of both valves.

This is how complete protection works. Incomplete (partial) protection against leaks in the washing machine assumes that the sensor stops pouring water only at the point where the hose is connected to the body. With incomplete protection, there is no sensor on the bottom of the machine.

Individual brand labeling: what it means

The leakage protection in the LG washing machine is called Aqua Lock. The system in LG products provides for:

  • determination of the presence of a leak;
  • closing the water inlet valve;
  • turning on the pump to pump out the water that has got into the body (if necessary).

In Bosch washing machines, Aqua-stop is realized using a double magnetic valve installed on a flexible hose of two layers. There is the above float on the bottom of the Bosch washing machine. These are fully leak-proof washing machines. By the way, if the machine is connected according to the rules, then in the event of a leak, the manufacturer undertakes not only to repair the machine itself, but also to repair the premises damaged by the flood.

Ariston developers have released machines with protection in the form of a float in the pallet. When the float floats up, the electronics close, which turns on the drain and stops the flow of water into the tank.

AEG washers have a desiccant valve installed on a double-layer hose. This protects the washing machine hose from leaking and blocks the water supply in the event of a leak.

Washer
AEG

Miele machines are available with two types of protection: Waterproof-System and Waterproof-Metal. The first case is similar to the standard Aquastop set, the second is supplemented with a high-strength reinforced hose. Waterproof-Metal is considered more reliable protection.

Asko washing machines are equipped with Aqua Detect System (multiple draining of water into the sewer in case of leakage detection) and Aqua Safe (sensors are located at 16 points where leaks are possible).

Can I do it myself

If your clipper does not have such a convenient system, you can install it yourself. For buyers from Russia, the Italian company OMB Saleri releases the Aqua-Stop device. The price is small - about one and a half thousand rubles. This is a fitting that fits onto the inlet hose. Inside the fitting there is the same protective mechanism powered by the washer.

However, this solution only works in the event of a severe leak. If the water comes in little by little, then the Aqua-Stop installed independently will not regard this as an accident and will not close the contacts.

At correct installation and connecting washing machine of any brand, you can be sure that you will not have to save yourself from the flood. Manufacturers took care of the safety of using equipment by installing protection against water leaks.

Aquastop is a special valve, the structure of which allows blocking the water supply if the difference between the supplied and outlet pressure increases sharply. That is, when an abnormal leak occurs, the system instantly reacts by compressing the device spring and not allowing water to flow further down the pipe. During an abrupt rupture of the hose, Aquastop reacts in a second.

Protection Aquastop first began to be used in washing Bosch machines... No blocking in model lines this manufacturer is very rare. It is absent only in the lowest-budget technology.

The valve can be installed directly at the beginning of the hose connected to the central water supply pipes. However, it is more advisable to use it specifically on the technique where breakdowns can occur:

  • On the drain tanks.
  • On the mixers.
  • In dishwashers and washing machines.

"List of enemies", or what will Aquastop protect?

During normal operation, the pressure in the hoses is the same everywhere. If a pipe breaks or a fitting opens, it increases dramatically. In this case, the water entering the valve pushes its conical part to the core and the pipeline is automatically shut off from their joining.

Such a protection system helps in cases when:

  • There are faults in the plumbing;
  • There are defects in the used technical devices;
  • The pipes have been “eaten away” by corrosion and they cannot withstand the current mechanical load;
  • The integrity or tightness of the fittings and flexible hoses is broken.

The device also protects the pipeline from uncontrolled fluid flows and is indispensable in emergency situations different types difficulties.

About the pros and cons

In many respects, Aquastop - protection against water leaks surpasses all existing analogues.
In particular, it has the following advantages:

  • "AquaStop" works automatically without receiving signals from additional indicators or sensors.
  • The fuse reacts with lightning speed, which allows you to eliminate emergency with minimal negative consequences.
  • The valve is quickly assembled and discharged when required, that is, it is reusable.
  • The presence of protection makes it possible not to close and open the tap for supplying water to an apartment or house every time it is needed. In practice, this crane is rarely closed at all, so protection provides a guarantee that during a force majeure, your house will not be flooded, and neighbors will not have to make repairs again.
  • The safety core works autonomously and does not need additional energy sources such as batteries or mains.
  • In the worst case, when the pressure drops smoothly, the valve does not have time to compress, and about a bucket of liquid can still get inside. electrical device or on the floor.
  • Sometimes Aquastop blocks the water flow when the filter mesh is abruptly removed from the tap, since the pressure at this moment becomes slightly higher. You will have to reset the device and screw it on again.

Technical features

The fuse operates at a water temperature up to 95 ° C and a pressure of 2.8 Bar (maximum - 10 Bar).

The flow rate for the protection to operate should be about 10 - 13 l / min.

The body of the device is made of nickel-plated brass; a stainless steel spring is placed inside it. The seal for the system is made of non-toxic rubber and meets the requirements of GOST.

Features of device mounting

Needed tools:

  • Nippers and screwdriver;
  • Adjustable wrench;
  • Sealing tape.

Procedure:

On preparatory stage turn off water and electrical appliances: washing machine and dishwasher, storage boiler etc. Then disconnect the flexible inlet hoses from the water supply system.

  1. Attach the fuse to the inlet valve. Wherein threaded connection need to be wrapped with a seal ( special tape, flax, sealant or tangit thread), and put on it an "American" - a union nut for joining two thread sections without rotation.
  2. Tighten the nut by hand. At the end, use an adjustable wrench to tighten it a quarter of a turn - more is possible only if there is a leak. The connection must be secure, but not overly tight, otherwise the threads will be damaged.
  3. Make sure to correct location device with respect to water flow. For convenience, an arrow is drawn on the device indicating the desired direction.
  4. Attach the other end of the protective element to the pipe, after which filters, meters and other equipment can be mounted.
  5. Slowly turn the tap to turn on the water until it is fully open.

At the end of the work, make sure that all nuts are screwed in and that moisture does not come out from under them.

If you need to reset the valve after it has been triggered, turn off the water, eliminate the cause of the leak, if any. Then unscrew Aquastop until it clicks. Remove the protective element, letting the remaining liquid flow out of the pipe, and then reattach it as described above.

The best fight is a fight that is not destined to take place, but best renovation for the neighbors below - the one that did not have to be done. Install the Aquastop leakage protection, and you will be insured against this and many other technical troubles for many years!

For the intricacies of installing a water leakage protection valve, see the video.

Imagine this picture - you return home, open the door and find yourself ankle-deep in water. The most probable cause flood - torn flexible hose or a leak in the washing machine tub. You start feverishly to eliminate the consequences of the flood, and the neighbors who have just made expensive repairs from below are already ringing at the door ... Is it possible to minimize the possibility of such a force majeure? Undoubtedly, because today there is such a technology as AquaStop or, in Russian - "protection against leaks".

AquaStop system: anti-leak technology

Some of the manufacturers equip only their top-end products or built-in appliances with the AquaStop system. Someone, on the contrary, seeks to cover almost the entire product line with this technology. In any case, today AquaStop is quite affordable and is widely represented in the range of household appliances. Moreover, the consumer pays almost nothing for such a security system in many cases. At the pioneer of this technology Bosch, for example, the difference in prices for washing machines with AquaStop and without it is not visible to the naked eye. And Bosch dishwashers are equipped with it almost without exception, except for the smallest and most inexpensive ones.

This is not surprising. The AquaStop system is as simple as it is effective. Its technical solution, proposed by Bosch back in the 90s of the last century, is copied with enviable consistency today by almost all manufacturers of household appliances.

The AquaStop system was proposed by Bosch in the early 90s of the last century by the engineers of the Bosch-Siemens concern.

Washing machines

The leakage protection system for washing machines and dishwashers is almost the same, with the exception of a few details. To begin with, let's take a closer look at the work of AquaStop for washing machines.

The main and most noticeable part of the system is the unusually thick water supply hose, designed for a pressure of 70 bar, which is 7 times the maximum allowable pressure in a domestic pipeline. At its end there is a small box with a solenoid valve, functionally similar to the operating valve of a washing machine. This so-called safety valve is the heart of the AquaStop system. Its normal position is closed, it opens only at the moment the washing machine is connected to the network.

True, the connection must be made by a certified master, and nothing else. Strong marketing ploy! And most likely they are not risking anything, since this technology is almost 20 years old and the statistics of failures during this time, apparently, tend to zero.

Alternative solutions

But what if your washing machine or dishwasher does not have this protection system? Call an insurance agent? It's not all bad - there are other ways to deal with leaks. For example, the Italian company OMB Saleri S. p. a. produces specifically for Russian market an inexpensive solution to this problem is the Aqua-Stop device (just like that, in Russian letters). Its cost in online stores ranges from 900 to 1500 rubles. The device is a fitting with a built-in inside it protective mechanism and does not require external power supplies for operation. The principle of operation is simple: the device shuts off the water supply in case of damage to the inlet hose, if the water flow exceeds 18-20 l / minute, that is, more than theoretically the inlet valve of the washing machine can pass. At first glance, everything is fine. However, several questions immediately arise, the main one of which is: what will happen if the water supply hose is not “torn out by the roots” by some unknown force, but just slightly loses its tightness? But most often this happens - the water does not pour out in a powerful stream, but rather slowly oozes out. As a result, in a couple of hours of your absence, a small lake forms on the floor of the apartment, and the fitting continues to regularly let water through, because the flow rate is not exceeded much ... In addition, such a device will definitely not protect your and neighboring property from depressurization and overflow of the working tank of the machine ...

You can avoid the "flood" different ways... But it's better to use proven ...

There are many other options autonomous protection from leaks - electronic and mechanical, different in price and performance. One or more moisture sensors are used as a tracking agent. When a critical situation arises, water enters the sensor, the circuit is closed, the electric drives quickly shut off the water. Everyone is happy ... But imagine the situation: you are taking a shower, an awkward movement - and some water gets on the sensor. The water instantly turns off, and you, covered in soap, wait for the contacts to dry out. And what will happen if you wash the floor in the bathroom - it's scary to think! In general, there are also enough inconveniences and absurdities in this case.

So it's better and more reliable to buy household appliances with built-in protection system. Proven by years of operation and real cases of "miraculous salvation" from an all-apartment flood. Moreover, the difference in price is small, if at all. The neighbors will be grateful to you.
Happy shopping!

Like washing machines, modern dishwashers are complemented by an anti-leakage option. What exactly is its purpose? And is there any point in overpaying for the full system instead of the standard partial one?

The flood is canceled!

The main threat posed by a working PMM is water leakage. Flooding can occur from a damaged hose or from a major internal failure when the unit draws more water than it should. The leakage protection technology is designed to protect the equipment and its owners from such troubles: the machine independently regulates the supply and drainage of water, eliminating the need to vigilantly monitor the entire washing cycle.

A high-quality system increases the reliability of operation so much that the equipment can be safely switched to the mode night work- you do not have to worry about possible domestic cataclysms. The principle of operation largely imitates washing units, and the name of the technologies, as a rule, is also common - "Aqua-stop" (sometimes you can find the formulations "Waterproof" and "AquaSave").

Full or partial protection?

Today, there are practically no cars that do not have protection against leaks - even the simplest and most unassuming models have at least a pallet with a float and, as a maximum, a special hose with a valve.

Let's draw parallels between partial and complete protection technologies:

  • Partial protection involves the installation of a metal or plastic pallet at the bottom of the PMM. From the inside, a lightweight foam float with a miniature electric switch is fixed on it: when a leak occurs, water in the sump begins to actively arrive, pushing the float outward, and it, in turn, closes the switch.

The control unit instantly receives a signal, displays a fault message on the display (or activates an alarm indicator) and starts an emergency mode - the washing process is immediately suspended, since the device is de-energized. Then the "baton" is picked up by drainage pump, which vigorously pumps water out of the tank and redirects it to the sewer. To restore the normal operation of the device, you will have to deal with the cause of the leak and drain all the water from the filled sump.

  • Full protection, often referred to as "Aqua-Control", is recognized as much more efficient and perfect. A heavy-duty inlet hose is added to the pallet, which has solenoid valves at both ends (one of the blocks is directly connected to the tap): they open exactly at the moment when the PMM starts to perform the given mode. As soon as the water reaches the set level in the tank, the sensor is triggered, the control system turns off the valves and, accordingly, breaks off contact with the water supply system, preventing the possibility of overflow.

In a situation where a hose is damaged or an internal malfunction occurs (filter clogged / water level sensor out of order / drain pump broken / used hand wash, which gave excess foam), the machine is insured by the already familiar pallet with a control float. You have to deal with the consequences of a leak in the same way as with partial technology - emptying the reservoir (for this, the PMM has an automatic reset button) and eliminating the root of the problem.

Aqua-stop is, of course, a useful thing, but it is still more prudent to prefer Aqua-control: it guarantees not only external, but also internal protection, preventing excess water collection and the appearance of leaks at the stage of the flood.

If the partial protection does not look very reliable, it is advisable to purchase and install a special double hose - it bears the same name "Aqua-stop". The benefit is that outer layer prevents leakage when the internal is worn out, while the flow of water is automatically interrupted.
