Efficient and eco-friendly design for the institute. Being closer to nature while staying in the city: the essence of eco-design in the interior

Ecodesign as a large and serious global business trend is divided into two sub-trends, one of which claims to be global and very serious, and the second does not pretend to be anything. We are talking about eco-design and, we would say, “eco-design”.

Let’s first deal with the “small” business trend - “eco-design”, which, as we stated above, is nothing like special does not apply. And having understood it, we will understand a lot about the big trend.

Nevertheless, the trend of “small ecology” is of interest, and in general it brings benefits to people and profit to traders.

The main idea of this “small” business trend is to give people illusion Nature. Well, or the illusion of “caring for Nature.” When you come across an advertising slogan like: “We care about Nature, that’s why we...”, then you often understand that these are just beautiful words - a play on fashion trends.

Because the problems of human ecology and human life are so serious and global that they require joint systematic efforts of the most advanced scientists and large financial support from both state and non-state funds. It's sad to admit, but serious concern for the environment (not “green” product design) is a thing in our modern world incredibly expensive and very knowledge-intensive. Plus, as we have already said, it requires universal joint, synchronous - complex efforts.

Today you cannot build a log house in a “wonderful place” and at the same time be sure that with this beautiful gesture you have “benefited the environment.” No, most likely, the “author” of the log house “in a wonderful place” caused significant harm to the environment.

Eco-design is often just, alas, a simulacrum, a game of city children playing “Indians” on a “deserted island.” That is, everything is more than “make-believe”... Well, a modern person cannot do without everything that he has surrounded himself with over the past two hundred years!

And yet, this global trend (“Ecodesign”) brightens up our lives and, at least psychologically, gives us that natural comfort (connection with the earth) that a resident of a metropolis is deprived of.

And in this sense, primitive “eco-design” can help a person very significantly if it is able (knowing at least some simple laws of psychology and balneology) to provide his stressed body and consciousness with some semblance of relaxation. So, by simply reducing the noise level in your premises where you provide services or sell goods, you will make significant progress in the field of “eco-design”. By properly organizing leisure areas and placing light that does not depress the psyche, you will be known as an environmentalist. Remembering the benefits green(chlorophyll and photosynthesis - glory to them - the lungs of our planet!) you will help people find an island of harmony in your space.

Therefore, one should not discount the benefits of a very simple (and not very science-intensive) way to make your space “ecologically friendly” to people. These approaches to service are studied by ergonomics, some branches of medicine (hygienics), and the same thing - Feng Shui.

Another thing is how we can be “ecologically friendly” in relation not to Man, but to nature itself. We have accumulated enough information about what has a bad influence on us. But we know almost nothing about what has a bad influence on whole natural ecosystems- to the sea and stream, to soils and forests, to the atmosphere, species of plants, insects...

This question has been studied little by us, people, since it has never been in demand. Before the era of industrial capitalism, although human damage was caused to nature, it was not at a catastrophic pace. In the era of industrial capitalism, advanced science was engaged in the development and use of subsoil - that’s all the interest in nature. Other but interest in Nature is in the initial stage of development exclusively in our days. Therefore, when we come across genuine examples of real “eco-design” (and not businessmen’s game of “ecology”), all these examples, firstly, are isolated, and secondly, are developed exclusively in the countries of the “golden billion”, countries that are already have solved their pressing problems and can afford to devote money and leisure to selflessly caring for the happiness and health of both the individual and the Planet as a whole.

Here, for example, is how many copies are broken in conversations about reducing physical activity modern man. About the load of information that he is obliged to process every day.

Have you remembered the children who are forced not only to “process” this “load of information”, but also physically to carry it on their fragile unformed vertebrae?... I mean - of course - school textbooks!

Come on, sleigh, go into the forest yourself!

According to studies, the weight of a backpack with textbooks that children under 12 years of age have to carry every day is more than 4 kg.

Naturally this is not in the best possible way affects health - spinal deformation occurs, scoliosis develops, problems arise with the back muscles, etc. And why don’t doctors sound the alarm?! An entrepreneur from Malaysia has developed a lightweight, ergonomic, multifunctional backpack for schoolchildren, Smart Bag, which is made from environmentally friendly materials. Its peculiarity is that this backpack can be used as... a scooter.

It is equipped with a comfortable handle, ergonomic shoulder straps, and 62 mm aluminum wheels for riding.

The dishes are made from leaves and water using a special technology using steam and heat. Moreover, in its manufacture no chemicals, dyes, plastic, wax, etc. Important Feature this utensil is the possibility of using it in microwave oven, oven and refrigerator.

Indeed, a worthwhile development is an environmentally friendly product that does not pollute the environment and at the same time is convenient to use, in the sense that it does not need to be washed. Costs $1 per plate and is sold in packs of 10 or 12.

I don't carry anyone...

As you know, the motto “I don’t eat anyone” flaunted in vegetarian canteens in Russia, in the era of the intelligentsia’s craze for the philosophy of the so-called “Tolstoyism.”

"The vegan shoe collection was born out of my love for living animals and fashion., says Detroit TV presenter, blogger and young mother Elizabeth Katzman, “ Although these two are usually mutually exclusive, I don't think they can't be combined".

Its new collection of eco-friendly shoes for women called “Elizabeth’s”, which brings together fashion trends and Liz Katzman actively and intelligently promotes compassion for animals.

Everyone should be such gentle and tolerant (towards other people’s opinions) newsmakers!

Eco style in interior design gives a feeling of unity with the living force of nature. Among modern styles eco this style is one of the most popular. Natural fabrics and glass, clay and wood, and, of course, stone are used here.

Eco-design prefers natural colors in any interior. These are the colors of grass and soil, stone and wood. A mandatory element of this style is a variety of colors. You can create a winter garden or decorate a separate area with flowers. You can also put an aquarium here or place birds.

Eco style wall decoration

Eco interior design is a new trend in decorative design that appeared during a period of intensive technology development. Individuals who feel responsible for nature and prefer to decorate the interior of their home in this style. It is characterized by the use of natural materials.

Eco-style wall decoration includes the use of:

  • clay;
  • solid aged or waxed wood;
  • bamboo stems;
  • ceramic tiles;
  • paper wallpaper;
  • stone slabs.

Eco style ceiling

Eco design in the interior creates the most comfortable environment in the house, which has relaxing properties and distracts from the bustle of the city. When decorating the interior, it is very important to focus on the ceiling - it must fully correspond to the style.

An eco-style ceiling can be decorated with wood panels or presented in the form of a whitewashed ceiling with wooden beams. Many designers prefer regular matte painting in pastel colors.

Eco style floor

The interior composition should be complemented by an eco-style floor. The main materials are wood and parquet boards, stone and ceramic slabs and cork panels.

Shouldn't be ignored additional decoration- in eco-friendly interior design it is decorated with lush pile carpets (bedroom, living room), and mats and mats are used for bathrooms.

Choosing furniture for an eco-style apartment

Eco interior design requires special approach to the choice of furniture.

The main criteria that guide designers are:

  • natural composition of materials;
  • conciseness;
  • regular geometric shapes and smooth corners;
  • massiveness;
  • presence of patina, scuffs and scratches.

Very often, eco-style furniture is reused, restored furniture that fits perfectly with the overall interior style.

Lighting for eco style

Eco-friendly interior design is characterized by laconic, slightly noticeable lighting: spot lighting, hidden halogen lighting, lampshades cylindrical, as well as the use of additional light sources.

Lighting for eco style is original lamps, which are made from natural materials: wood, textiles, stones and crystals. They complement the overall theme of the interior and also fit perfectly with other style trends.

Modern eco-design in the interior (Greek eikos - house, habitat) - “ecological” style”, made from natural materials, giving a feeling of freshness and unity with nature. Today it is one of the most popular modern styles.

What is eco-design

Eco design is an attempt to recreate the natural environment in human habitats. The meaning of eco-design lies in the name itself - an interior designed in this vein is in optimal harmony with the environment. It is in an “eco-friendly” room that a person can feel all the benefits of natural materials and really take a break from the stuffy city.

Eco-design or naturel is expressed only through its idea, natural origin, naturalness of materials, colors, correctness of forms.

Basic elements of Eco-design style:

  • basic materials: wood, stone, clay, glass, fabrics made from natural materials;
  • primary colors: beige, brown, white (in contrast with black or dark wood), delicate pastel colors. Natural colors are most often used: pale green, pale blue, the colors of grass, water, stone, wood, soil;
  • closeness to nature or a feeling of intimacy, in such an interior it is easy to breathe, there is a lot of light.

History of Eco-design

This style does not have a turbulent history of development, as well as famous architectural monuments. The style can hardly be called unique, due to borrowing forms and methods from other styles.

The appeal to “eco” happens one way or another, but this is only a mixture of eco-design with others. For example, the architect Alvar Aalto, the “father of modernism,” designed houses with trees growing through the roofs and vines entwining them.

They started talking about eco-design at the end of the 20th century, when people were tired of environmental problems and decided to create their own “clean” world in an apartment or house. This design is interesting because it is dictated by nature itself. Man, as a part of the world and nature, is in no hurry to abandon it, strives to preserve it, reproduce it in suburban area or an apartment, as in eco-design.

Of course, an appeal to nature has been found before in other styles. It was expressed in painting, murals, textures, architectural elements and sculptures. The natural theme was most clearly reflected in Art Nouveau. But if modernity is based on elements classic styles, then eco-design to modern ones, not disdaining the presence of technology and electronics, which are certainly not natural.

Country is also partly eco-design, not counting its departure from modernity. The “progenitors” of eco-design are considered to be Scandinavian designers, who provided the basis for combining the naturalness of the material and innovative form, as well as Japanese traditionalists.

Due to its positive energy, promoting relaxation, paying attention to health and correctness of life, eco-design in the interior quickly found fans and continues to remain popular in modern houses and apartments.

Today, you can often find a mixture of other styles with eco-design, in other words, eco-interior styling.

Eco-design features

The creation of eco-design in the interior cannot be subject to any axioms, of course, except for the rule that states that only harmless and natural materials can be used. Your character, preferences, habits, age and even status can be reflected in created interior, while its belonging to eco-design will be undeniable.
Eco-design in the interior is very popular and widely used. Suitable for arrangement is an apartment, a cottage, a chill-out in an office (a place to relax) and even a meeting room. Main principle eco-design is naturalness in everything. Therefore, no chipboard, plastic or chromed metal in furniture and decorative items.

One of the most significant advantages of eco-design is the great possibilities for realizing your fantasies; you can use any colors and any natural materials in decoration and furniture. Natural materials such as reed or other leafy wallpaper, river stones, which can be used as wall cladding, are perfect.

In an ecological style, the content determines the form: everything consists of natural materials. This style invites us to appreciate the pristine beauty of wood, stone, wicker, cotton, linen, wool, and baked clay. It is not necessary to overload these natural textures with various patterns, reliefs, bright colors and original designs. Let everything be simple and natural.

Style elements

Eco-design walls: wooden panels, cork covering, simple paper wallpaper with a barely noticeable plant pattern, or better without a pattern at all, or wallpaper made from natural plant materials, you can add ceramic tiles(plain color, or also with a floral pattern), finishing stone, use white plaster.

Eco-design ceiling: wooden panels, or a combination wooden beams with a light ceiling (stretch or whitewashed) – excellent solution for interior eco-design.
Floor eco-design: in eco style they are laid out from stone or terracotta tiles in a natural shade. No less in demand in eco style wooden parquet, both from European species and exotic ones, bamboo or cork. An additional technique can be the combination of dark and light wood.

Eco-design furniture: made of natural wood, better than array. Tables and stools made from saw cuts and solid tree trunks and table tops from natural stone or marble. There should not be a lot of carvings, yet the interior is modern, which means the shape is straightforward, the figures are simple. It will lighten the mass, rattan furniture. It is worth mentioning that eco-design furniture is not cheap. In addition to the fact that furniture made of natural wood costs an order of magnitude more than its artificial counterparts, in the eco style greater preference is given to furniture made of solid wood (solid wood without joints). You will just have to come to terms with this, unless you find a “private carpenter” to replace showrooms with similar furniture, which is extremely difficult. A cheaper alternative could be Scandinavian-style furniture.

For doorways Lightweight doors made of solid wood or doors made of wood veneer are desirable. Glass can be added interior doors V wooden frame, curtains made of “beads” made from natural materials (shells, bamboo sticks).

Eco-design fabrics have never been classified as “rich”; traditionally they symbolize the common rural life. Today, curtains made of matting and matting are considered the height of sophistication. Adherents of the ecological style claim that natural, undyed fabrics even have a different energy. For curtains and fabric trim, choose items made from linen, chintz, canvas, matting, and coarse wool. In art salons it is very affordable price gray unbleached canvas for sale. This is a very effective fabric for decorating an ecological interior. You can use it to make curtains, tablecloths, and furniture upholstery. In addition, it makes sense to look at wicker blinds-mats: they are suitable both for window decoration and simply as wall mats or dividing screens.

Decorative items in eco-design: vases made of glass (usually green) or clay, fresh flowers, wicker baskets, chests, tree branches, simple linen or cotton textiles, decorative fountains, wooden or straw fruit bowls and salt shakers. In an eco-design kitchen, bunches of dried herbs and bunches of onions add a special coziness. Each item in an eco-design interior should maintain a feeling of a natural touch, be it a painting or a composition of dried flowers.

Eco-design dishes should be simple and plain in soft colors. Complex patterns are not allowed; a pattern in ethnic style. The best material would be ceramics or colored glass. Wooden utensils, as well as cotton napkins, would be good.

Having not just a few flowers in pots, but created winter garden or its mini version, when only one zone is decorated with flowers. You can even decorate with stones, lying separately or in the form of a rock garden in a small area of the room. An aquarium, terrarium or bird cage will also decorate the interior.

A room made in eco-design should be well lit, it’s not just light, it can feel its own weather, gloomy or sunny - it all depends on your mood. To achieve this high results, fluorescent lamps are used as light sources, which, in addition to performing the main function (lighting), also save energy.

To decorate a house in the naturel style, it is not at all necessary to cover the entire apartment with wood. It is enough to make one thing out of wood - the floor, walls, doors or windows. You can also purchase unprocessed, which means more cheap wood and bring it to perfection yourself. This, of course, will take more time, but working with natural wood– this is also, to some extent, communication with nature and a kind of tribute to the chosen ecological style.

The main mistake is to present eco-design as country, with its large number of decorative elements, carvings, lace, paintings, etc. Don’t forget eco-design reflects a modern interior, its minimalism, simplicity and functionality, don’t clutter it and don’t turn it into a house in the village.

Eco-design – the embodiment of nature and healing peace

Eco-design in the interior is perfect for individuals who feel responsible for the environment in which they live: eco-design is not just stylish and beautiful interior, but also an expression of a certain position of protest against the limitless consumer instinct and pollution of nature.

Eco-style in the modern interior of a house or apartment will help create a cozy and comfortable environment. An important advantage of eco-style design is the ability to find a solution for every taste, in a wide variety of price categories.

Features of interior design in eco-style

Color solution

The environmental orientation of the style is determined, first of all, by the colors used in finishing. As a rule, these are the shades that we find in nature: sand, earth, grass, coniferous, terracotta, blue, white.

Only “acid” shades and harsh shades are excluded. color combinations. They are inappropriate in such a design - after all, an eco-style interior is conducive to rest and relaxation, everything should contribute to this.

Materials

A room in eco-style is finished with natural materials whenever possible, and as an exception – with their imitation. First of all, these are wood, stone, cork, terracotta, ceramics, glass, paper, wicker or rattan panels, mats.

  • The walls can be finished paper wallpaper with images of plant motifs, or laid out with cork panels - both support the eco-style of the room, but the first option is much more budget-friendly. Plaster, painted or whitewashed, is also a completely environmentally friendly wall covering.
  • The ceilings are either covered with whitewash, or wallpapered for painting, or trimmed with wood.
  • Floors are most often made of wood or finished with stone tiles or ceramic tiles.

Furniture

For an eco-style apartment, furniture made of wood is suitable, simple in shape, quite massive, and the shape should be as natural as possible - either straight and even rough, or, on the contrary, smooth, imitating the natural curves found in nature. In the first case, the texture of the wood should be as simple as possible, its processing should be minimal. In the second, careful processing and polishing of wood is acceptable. Another suitable look furniture - wicker items made of wicker, rattan, bamboo.

Lighting

As much natural light as possible - here mandatory requirement ecological interior. If it is not enough, you need to add artificial lighting. Lamps in the design can be “inconspicuous” - built-in, creating a luminous flux that complements the light from the windows, as well as decorative - with lampshades made of textiles, rice paper or wicker, with elements in the form of tree branches or animal horns.

Eco-style: decor and interior design

Eco-style does not like clutter of objects; in this sense, it is close to minimalism - after all, in nature there is nothing superfluous. Therefore, decorative items “part-time” usually perform utilitarian functions. For example, wicker baskets and chests in the interior become convenient places storage Simple homespun rugs add exclusivity and insulate stone floors, while a bright pumpkin becomes a colorful design accent and also serves as a lampshade for a lamp.

Unusual “pictures” made of stone and wood, beautiful pebbles stacked in glass vase, mirror frames with shell designs, river pebbles laid out in the bathroom as a rug - it’s difficult to even list all the possible decorative elements available in eco-style.

An excellent addition to the interior would be a fireplace - both “live” and “bio”, or even its imitation - logs stacked in a suitable niche.

Living greenery is another designer “tool” with which you can enliven the simplest interior or turn an ordinary room into a corner of a tropical forest.

Textile design in eco-style is also distinguished by natural materials and colors. The material for furniture upholstery and sofa cushions, as a rule, is chosen to be rough and textured - linen, jute. Window curtains are often replaced roller blinds or bamboo roller shutters.

The main rule is maintaining a sense of proportion. You cannot oversaturate the interior with decor, no matter how “correct” and appropriate it may seem to the occasion. Otherwise, you may get the opposite result to what you expected.

When decorating a living room in eco-style, it is advisable to use only natural materials; if this is not possible, it is worth replacing them with imitation. Ordinary “plastic” windows do not fit into the style at all, so it is better to make the frames wooden. Budget replacement - wood-like plastic.

You may not be able to maintain the entire design in one style, from furniture to small details. Sometimes a few are enough to create a style. expressive details– the main thing is that everything else does not contradict the main idea.

The most intimate room in the house belongs only to you, and its design should be such that you can calmly relax and unwind. Nothing distracting, stressful or irritating to the nervous system.

To design a bedroom in eco-style, a few style-forming elements, as well as natural finishing materials or natural motifs in wall decoration and textiles. Wooden bed, woolen rug underfoot, warm beige tones walls, light cotton curtains - the image of an eco-style bedroom is ready.

And again - natural materials in decoration, simple shapes, textile elements... But everything is the same - characteristic features country style. What is the main difference? Country style allows for the saturation of small elements in the design - a variety of “folk” objects: painted dishes, clay figurines, curtains with frills, decorative pillows, chair covers. In eco-style, such excesses are unacceptable.

In the kitchen, more than in any other room in the house, it is important to follow the principles of minimalism - nothing superfluous! Do you want to emphasize your closeness to nature and make your interior truly unusual? Choose an accent lamp, and at the same time use it as an element dividing the functional areas of the kitchen. The easiest way is to add eco-elements to the decoration, for example, by decorating plain walls with large floral patterns or wooden cuts.

Kitchen furniture is preferable to simple forms; not only wood can be used as a material, but also, for example, transparent plastic– it will not “interfere” with the perception of the stylistic “picture”, “dissolving” in space. Such “disappearing” furniture can be supplemented with several “heavy” objects - this will balance the interior.

Minimalism, natural colors, space and a lot of light - this is how an eco-style bathroom design should look. Sometimes all you need to do is choose the right one facing material and add color accent with the help of bright towels - and an unforgettable image is ready.

The wooden finish of the bathroom and simple forms of sanitary ware add up to a natural eco-style. Eco-style in bathroom design allows the use of imitating materials. For example, wood-look porcelain tiles will look good in “wet” areas, and they are much more practical than wood, even treated special compounds. The use of ceramic tiles is also encouraged, and outside wet areas - plaster followed by painting with moisture-resistant paints.

The bathroom is the place where one single detail can make a difference. For example, this could be a unique stone sink or a bathtub in the form of a basin. There are more budget options design - for example, a piece of floor lined with sea pebbles, which at the same time serves as a massage mat. It’s good if the bathroom has a “warm” floor.

The “eco” style has long crossed the thresholds of apartments and made its way outside. The exterior of the house, reflecting the owner’s desire to get as close to nature as possible, is the spirit of the times. And if earlier designers were content with making walls from timber or logs, or laying out their lower parts with “wild” stone, now the task is broader: they try to “fit” the house into the surrounding landscape as much as possible, which sometimes leads to very eccentric design solutions. For example, some houses are literally buried in the ground, or “hanging on branches” in an attempt to merge with nature.

Modern eco-style is not only about environmentally friendly materials, it is also about the possibility of recycling them, causing minimal harm to nature during construction and operation, and creating the most comfortable living environment for humans.

Creating an eco-interior.

The environmental friendliness of the interior is very important for those who live in it. It's not just about beauty, but also about the well-being of homeowners and visitors. In addition to the safety of the home, the health of people staying in it for a long time is very important. The main thing in design is not only aesthetics, but also correct use and the choice of furniture and finishing materials so that they are not harmful to health. If the designer takes the health of homeowners into account, then he strives to create not only an aesthetic, but also an environmentally friendly interior.

Let's look at several techniques that help create an eco-interior.

1. Using plants as decoration.

Nothing can be better than adding plants to your home. Plants can help create an air filter and will help remove harmful chemicals from indoors. Apart from the health benefits, they will also add beauty and comfort to your home and give it a natural and fresh atmosphere. If you are looking to improve your indoor air quality, you can add lilies, bamboo or gerberas.

2. Allow as much sunlight as possible into the premises.

Another great way creating an eco-interior - allowing sunlight to penetrate into the room as much as possible during the daytime. You can do this with skylights and light shades. When purchasing, you can also choose an apartment with windows facing south to get enough sunlight. Using daylight instead of electric lighting can be a big advantage for you, not only from an economical but also an environmental point of view.

3. Use organic and natural materials.

This is the most effective method when creating an eco-house. Of course it costs more, but we strongly advise using minimal plastic, chipboard and vinyl in the interior, especially in bedrooms.

4. Use energy-saving lighting.

This is very important not only for the environment, but also for users. Using compact fluorescent lamps can help save energy and electricity, and prevent emissions greenhouse gases and pollutants that may be harmful to your health and the environment.

5. Choose low VOC materials.

VOCs are volatile organic compounds which are harmful to health. This can be seen in paints, household products, furniture, carpets, etc. Thus, when you buy things for your home, always pay attention to these points in the instructions, choose only those materials that have low VOC content.

6. Use energy-efficient windows.

Even your windows can help create an eco-friendly aura in your space. Choose windows that are made with special coatings to reflect heat and have good insulation. This will keep the room warm, especially during the colder months, and can also help you save money because you won't need to use air conditioners or radiators. Windows that are energy efficient are already a good barrier to heat loss in cold weather and unwanted heat gain in summer.

7. Choose eco-friendly wall coverings.

For walls it is necessary to choose paints that do not highlight harmful substances. You can also use a variety of wall coverings, such as eco-certified wallpaper. As a rule, these are paper or non-woven wallpaper. You can also use wood panels, cork or ceramic tiles, which are environmentally friendly clean materials. In addition to being eco-friendly, they can look very beautiful.

8. Furniture made of natural wood.

Well, of course, you should use furniture that is made from organic materials. It can be made of solid wood: the countertops can be made of marble or stone. . And it will be more individual approach to the decor of your rooms.

9. Use stone or wood for floors.

Apart from your walls, your floors also require eco-friendly materials. You can use stone for your flooring, such as marble or the modern material porcelain stoneware. You can also use wooden parquet or massive board. In addition to the eco-friendly atmosphere, these materials will add more appeal to the interior of the house.

10. Use wool, linen, cotton and silk fabrics.

For your mattresses, pillows, carpets, bedding, upholstery, curtains and bedspreads, use natural materials that protect against dust mites. Dust mites cause allergies and are harmful to health. Choose the right material in order to protect yourself.
