What to make a stand for a spotlight. Budget version of a tripod made of polypropylene pipes for a floodlight

Good lighting for video shooting is the key to success, but even with a good source of illumination, for example, a spotlight, it is not always possible to conveniently, and most importantly, correctly direct the light, since there is no device for this. Therefore, in this article I will tell you how the author made a tripod for a spotlight, which will also save you money. To create you do not need a lot of money, we still have a budget option, so all the parts can be purchased for a purely symbolic amount.

In order to make a homemade tripod for a spotlight you will need:
* Polypropylene pipes
* Glue, the well-known "second" is quite amiss
* Clip
* Tees for pipes
* Corners
* Hacksaw for metal
* The spotlight itself for checking homemade products

That's all that is needed for further manufacturing, so that a useful thing can be assembled from little things

Step one.
The first step is to decide on the dimensions of the future tripod, namely the height and width of the legs, which in turn directly affects the stability of the structure and varies depending on the mass of the camera or video camera used.

Step two.
After you have decided on the dimensions, you can go directly to manufacturing. At this stage, after all, there will be a hacksaw for metal. Why exactly in metal, you ask, but here everything is simple, since the blade of the hacksaw has small teeth, then it will leave less scoring and the cleanliness of the cut will be better in comparison with a hacksaw with a large tooth. Saw off pipes of the required length with a hacksaw, after which it is better to sand the sawn-off site, eliminating irregularities and pieces of plastic.

Step three.
Now we need to fasten the parts together, first we use the tees and connect the pipes so that the base of the tripod is formed, and so that the pipes do not separate for reliability with a drop of "second" glue, in all subsequent stages of the assembly we glue the connections. In fact, it should look something like this.

Then we attach three corners, which will act as legs.

The legs are ready, it's time to fix the main pipe on which the spotlight will be held, also choose the length depending on your needs, for filming at long distances at full height, a pipe within 1-1.5 meters is suitable.

Step four.
Let's move on to the hero of the occasion, namely the spotlight. It will be most convenient to attach it to this pipe using a clip, in which there is already a hole. We bolt the fixture of the spotlight with the clip.

We check how the entire structure is held on the pipe. For a projector of this size, the clip holds well enough, but if you decide to hang something larger, then the fasteners can be reinforced with another clip.

On this, the tripod for the spotlight is completely ready, all stages of assembly do not require much effort, as well as time to manufacture.

Often, for any kind of work on the street or even for good video lighting, high-quality lighting is required, which does not need to be held in your hands and which will shine from above, but from somewhere on the side. In order to get the desired result, you need a special rack.

If you need such a rack, but you do not know how to make it, watch the video. It shows an example of how to create a tripod.

To create a wooden tripod, we will use:
- wooden blocks;
- glue;
- nails;
- staples;
- self-tapping screws;
- telescopic handles;
- saw;
- sandpaper.

Telescopic handles for paint rollers, the length of which is equal to one meter, can be used as tripod stands. They unfold up to two meters in height. However, the question arose how to install them.

One of the earliest solutions was to make a crosspiece to fit these handles. And they were fixed there with two clamps. But this option turned out to be not very convenient, the cross staggered and I wanted to have a more stable structure. That is why we opted for the tripod option.

The whole structure is assembled with glue and nails.

To create a tripod, you need to take a wooden block, which is sawn into three equal parts. Each of them will be a separate tripod leg. We process each leg, removing all irregularities and roughness. For greater stability at the end of each we cut out like a small "heel". And on the other side of each leg, we make a small cut of about 30 °.

Now we assemble the structure by folding three legs in such a way that the supposed circle is divided by them into three equal parts. We fix together with glue and nails, you can use staples. It is very important to hammer the bracket into the structure so that the self-tapping screw does not get into it later when working. After the structure is fixed, we additionally tighten it with self-tapping screws.

We are waiting for the glue to dry and then we clean the connection.

This version of the tripod is based on the same elements as the previous one presented in the publication earlier on the pages of the site "U Samodelkina » .

It is not so versatile, but somewhat cheaper and is great for use in rooms with a flat floor and as a telescopic stand for lighting equipment, and as a photographic tripod, especially if you need a slightly higher height - you can quickly change the upper tube of the central telescopic part with a searchlight to this the same pipe, with a holder for a phone or a camera already fixed on it.

A similar stand can also be used for the manufacture of a tribune, using pipes of larger diameters for its manufacture.

Material and components for the manufacture of a telescopic rack:

Attention! When choosing pipes, you should check them for compatibility, they should freely fit into each other.

Pipe 32 "hot" (polypropylene PN20) - 1 m.

Pipe 20 "hot" (polypropylene PN20) - 2.5 m.

Cap (polypropylene) 32 - 1 pc.

Plug (polypropylene) 20 - 6 pcs.

Coupling (polypropylene) 50 - 1 pc.

Pipe cuttings (polypropylene PN 20) 32 × 40 mm. - 3 pcs.

Plug 32 (PND) - 2 pcs.

Square (steel) 10 × 450 mm. - 3 pcs.

Bolt М8 × 130 mm. - 3 pcs.

Screwed hinge PVV 1 - 9 pcs.

Connecting nut М8 - 6 pcs.

Through nut М8 - 9 pcs.

Bolt М6 × 25 mm. - 9 pcs.

Through nut М6 - 9 pcs.

Washer М6 - 9 pcs.

Manufacturing:

The production of the rack should begin with cutting blanks from the PP 20 pipe - one piece, equal to 1 m long, for the manufacture of a central telescopic rod, and three, 500 mm each, for the "legs" of the future rack.

Plus the already prepared pipe PP 32 for the central telescopic rod.

In the end face of three PP 20 polypropylene plugs, in the center, mark and make holes Ø 8 mm, and with the help of threaded “fork” parts with screw loops, insert M8 nuts.

Using a welding machine, install them on one of the ends of PP 20 polypropylene pipes prepared for making the tripod legs.
Attention! When welding, the threaded “fork” parts of the screw loop are used as guides and must be welded so that the M8 nut is clamped (welded) between the end of the pipe and the inside of the plug.

Install cuttings of PP 32 pipes on PP 20 pipes, in their middle part.

Mark and drill blind holes (not for the entire pipe diameter) Ø 6.7 mm in the middle and then cut M8 threads in the prepared holes.
Attention! In the future, in all threaded holes for a tighter screwing in of the threaded part of the screwed hinge, the thread should be cut incomplete, only its beginning.

It is very convenient to drill holes in cylindrical parts using the simplest device, the manufacture of which can be found on my profile page on the site "At Samodelkin's", as well as watch the video on my channel "Ideas for home" in the video hosting "YouTube".

Place prepared steel squares inside these pipes.
In this design, they are simply necessary for the finished design to be more rigid and stable.

Using a welding machine, install the PP 20 plugs.

Shorten the “sleeve” part of all nine threaded loops.

For the convenience of cutting to the same size, you can pre-screw two M8 through nuts.

Screw three of them all the way into the prepared "semi-threaded" holes in the middle parts of the pipes for the "legs".

In the center of one of the plugs HDPE 32, mark and with a feather drill make a Ø 32 mm hole, which will then be used to make a threaded (collet) lock for the central telescopic rod.

At the final stage of making the hole, reaming with a feather drill should be from the inside of the plug.

On one side of a polypropylene pipe (PP 32), at a distance of 30 mm. from its edge, mark and drill a through hole (for the entire pipe diameter) Ø 3 mm.

Having previously marked, make a cut to a depth, up to the drilled hole.

On the edge of the pipe, from the side of the cuts, install the collet clamp, previously made from the HDPE 32 plug.

Cut off the end of the second end cap HDPE 32 completely, remove the rubber ring, and lightly smooth the inner diameter of the white tapered ring with medium-grain sandpaper.
All this must be done so that the finished part can easily slide along the central rod.

Cut off a ring 18 mm wide from the edge of the PP 50 coupling.

Using a welding machine, install the ring on the edge of the part made of the HDPE 32 plug.

Drill three holes Ø 6.7 mm in the ring, at an equal distance from each other, cut the M8 thread and screw in the three previously prepared "sleeve" parts of the hinges.
