How far can the load stick out of the trailer? What is the acceptable rate? cargo is oversized. Oversized cargo: dimensions, traffic rules

Trucking has become an integral part of life modern man. The number of companies specializing in this area is increasing exponentially every day.

Not only in cities with a population of one million people is the actual transportation of luggage (different in size), but also in almost all settlements.

Transportation of oversized cargo is the basis of the activities of logistics companies, because they, as professionals, know all the rules and subtleties of this process, they are independently involved in paperwork. And the cost of their services depends on the parameters of the transported things and on the distance.

Finding such a carrier is not difficult, but you yourself need to be competent in basic issues, to know all the formalities of the process.

What sizes are acceptable

Before each transportation process, a product category is determined. Attention is drawn to the type of objects or substances, as well as their parameters or volume.

In our country, road transport is regulated by the Rules traffic, transportation of goods using an automobile vehicle, as well as the rules for the safe transportation of passengers.

According to the above rules, the transportation of goods is carried out on a truck, the parameters of which do not exceed 2.55 m in width and 20 m in length (with a trailer), but the height from the road surface is not more than 4 m.

If the weight parameters exceed the capabilities of the vehicle category, then you will have to issue a special permit. In the absence of such a document, a fine of 500 thousand rubles and sending the vehicle to a penalty area threaten.

Delivery of oversized baggage is a complex and dangerous process, to which a number of requirements are put forward:

  • the load does not block the driver's field of vision, does not impede the control of the cargo vehicle;
  • baggage is securely fastened in accordance with the rules of safety;
  • does not block reflectors and headlights;
  • during the movement, the carrier must be able to control the fasteners, adjust them.

If the vehicle is not properly equipped, then oversized cargo cannot be transported.

What is oversized cargo

Oversized cargo is considered to be such luggage, in which the weight and size parameters exceed the permissible norms, that is, cargo that cannot be placed in trucks. Official documents call this category heavy cargo, and logisticians call it oversized.

The category of oversized cargo puts forward a number of formal and technical requirements. This group of luggage includes: yachts and boats, quarry machines and production equipment, various boilers, lifting equipment and other items that have a non-standard shape and impressive weight.

How to arrange

Paperwork is the main component of successful transportation of oversized cargo. All requirements are put forward by the Instruction of the Ministry of Transport. Here are the parameters that classify the cargo.

The State traffic inspectorate carefully controls oversized cargo transportation, so it is impossible to transport such items without documentation.

Permits must be obtained from the local Federal Highway Agency.

To do this, the carrier will have to submit the following papers: an application, a traffic scheme, a MOT certificate for a vehicle with a tractor and its semi-trailer, a technical passport for the exact dimensions of luggage). A permit is issued within 14 days after payment of the state duty.

The permit for the transportation of oversized cargo includes a number of data:

  • registration number of the transporting vehicle;
  • parameters of a car with a trailer (if it is additionally installed);
  • information about the driver who will carry out the transportation process;
  • exact coordinates of movement (settlements and streets);
  • transit time, movement restrictions (speed and time period).

The customer does not undertake the process of obtaining permission, because such a service is included in the cost of delivery of oversized items.

What vehicle is used

Vehicles for the transport of such goods must have a special marking "Oversized cargo". It is molded to the car if the luggage can protrude in the front or rear by 1 meter, and on the sides - up to 40 cm.

There are generally accepted rules if the transported items exceed the parameters: the length is more than 20 meters and the height is more than 4 meters. These are the total dimensions of the vehicle with luggage.

At night, or when visibility is impaired, you need to turn on the lamp on the vehicle and the white reflector in the front of the car, and the red one in the back. Also, these signaling devices are used during bad weather - heavy rain, fog, smog.

A vehicle that does not meet even a few points of the above requirements is not allowed for transportation. Before issuing a permit, employees are required to equip a car in accordance with the rules.

Features of transportation

There are many features of transportation of this category of goods. All this is due to the fact that transportation is specific, the process itself and its organization are regulated by the Rules of the Road.

The main thing in this matter is the distribution of the load on the axles of the vehicle in such a way that there is no imbalance. The weight of the load must not exceed the lifting capacity of the vehicle.

truck in without fail equipped with fasteners, with the help of which at all stages of transportation it would be possible to control the location and its quality, check the condition and safety of goods.

For the driver, the necessary viewing angles are provided so that the process of moving along the freeway is safe and fast.

Speed mode - important point when providing this type of service. The driver does not have the right to exceed the permitted speed, moreover, there is such a clause in the permit, according to which you can find out the delivery time.

Speed on motorways does not exceed 60 km/h, and when crossing or crossing bridges - no more than 15 km/h.

If unforeseen circumstances overtook (for example, a sharp deterioration in weather conditions - ice, fog, etc.), then the driver may deviate from the deadlines.

Driving on the side of the road is strictly prohibited! This is understandable, because the goods can protrude beyond the body of the vehicle.

It is also impossible to park in places without a special sign (this applies to both settlements and roads between them). In cities there are places for such temporary parking, marked with signs.

Among the technical requirements during transportation, the following can be distinguished: the brake system of the road train must be controlled by the brake pedal of the tractor truck. The car must have a parking brake so that the vehicle with the trailer stops in time.

The road train is also equipped with 4 wheel chocks (this is the minimum number). The cab is equipped with two rear-view mirrors on both sides.

It is impossible to set off without the recognition signs "Road train" or "Oversized cargo".

During a breakdown, the vehicle immediately stops and parks in the nearest free space, a warning sign is posted.

The cost of transporting oversized cargo by road

It is calculated according to the parameters of the baggage (its length, width, height, weight), the level of danger, the condition of the goods, the distance and timing of the operation.

Tariffs immediately include VAT and the cost of services for the preparation of documentation for delivery. If loading and unloading services are carried out, then this is also included in the price.

Long-term cooperation with logistics companies allows you to get a stable discount.

Cargo transportation of oversized baggage is a process that is full of formal nuances, rules and requirements for the carrier and vehicle. Their observance is mandatory, and the process at all its stages is tightly controlled.

Logistics companies, which have been specializing in providing a range of such services for several years, are well versed in the process, they have their own well-formed staff, and their skills have been developed.

They can get permission much faster, they do it on their own. Apply for services to such organizations - the only way transport non-standard cargo, because not even every company has the necessary vehicles and keeps them in its fleet.

The benefit also lies in the fact that at the time of the provision of the service, all responsibility for the safety of property lies with the contractor. Reputable companies work with insurers.

Directly before transportation, the company can name the exact amount, which it calculates based on the parameters of oversized items and the distance of moving between settlements or within the city.

Video: transportation of oversized and heavy cargo.wmv

Often in the process of transportation it is necessary to transport various oversized cargo. There is no clear definition in the SDA for this.

It is generally accepted that the cargo is oversized if it does not meet the requirements and exceeds the dimensions of the vehicle which increases the risk of accidents. Therefore, oversize must be allocated in such a way that other road users can notice it from long distance and take steps to ensure safety.

There are two main types of this type of cargo:

  • large-sized - exceeds the dimensions of the vehicle, may block part of the roadway;
  • heavy - its weight is greater than the maximum allowable weight that this vehicle can carry.

If we are talking about freight transportation, then oversized exceeds the following parameters:

  • its height is more than 2.5 m;
  • weighs from 38 tons;
  • length starts from 24 m;
  • width - from 2.55 m.

What is the penalty for non-compliance?

It should also be recalled that the administrative code provides for punishment for improper organization of transportation of oversized items without an appropriate permit.

  • In particular, article 12.12.1 part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses states that the driver will be forced to pay a fine of 2,500 rubles.
  • The official who authorized such transportation will be obliged to pay 15-20 thousand rubles.
  • And for a legal entity, liability is imposed in the form of 400-500 thousand rubles.

Under the same article, a driver may be deprived of his driver's license for up to six months.

Based on all these factors, the driver and the person in charge can receive not only a fine for oversized cargo, but also lose their rights. Therefore, it is necessary to study and strictly adhere to the rules for transporting oversized items, which are described in the SDA.

Bulky cargo sign

First of all, the vehicle is marked with a special sign "Oversized cargo". It is a metal plate with diagonal white and red lines. The size of the shield is 40x40 cm. It is also allowed to use stickers of the same size.

The surface of the plate must be reflective so that it is visible both in the daytime and at night.

In addition to this plate, any truck must be marked with the following signs:

  • road train;
  • bulky;
  • long length (Long Vehicle).

It is necessary to install this sign on those parts of the cargo that protrude above the roadway. Reflectors are also used. In the front they should be white color, in the back - red or orange.

Oversized - transportation by cars

You can often see how oversized cargo protruding above the roadway is transported in passenger cars, similarly to trucks. For drivers of passenger cars, liability for violation of transportation rules is also provided, so they should be considered.

The following cargo is considered oversized:

  • protrudes more than one meter from behind or in front;
  • on the side - 40 or more centimeters.

If you are dealing with this type of transportation, then you must use the above plate (sign) and attach it directly to the protruding parts of the oversized cargo. At night, in addition to the sign for oversized cargo, use reflectors - white in front, red in back.

It is necessary to place the load in such a way that it does not block the driver's view, there is no risk of it slipping, and does not cause harm pavement or ancillary structures.

Please note that if the load protrudes from the back or front by more than 2 meters, and the total width exceeds 2.55 meters, then its transportation in passenger cars without special permission is prohibited. If an inspector stops you, then there is a high probability that an appropriate protocol will be issued and you will be deprived of your rights for up to six months.

Organization of transportation of oversized cargo

If massive objects are to be delivered by road, for example, heavy equipment or large agricultural machinery, you must take care in advance of obtaining permission from the regional department of the Ministry of Transport.

You will need to provide the following information:

  • metric parameters of the transported equipment;
  • the route along which the convoy will move;
  • quality certificates and additional documents confirming the characteristics of the cargo: dangerous, bulky, non-hazardous, and so on.

It may take up to 30 days to coordinate routes and obtain permission. The Ministry of Transport will analyze the route, and if it turns out that there are any communications along this route that interfere with travel (low bridges, overpasses, overhanging power lines, narrow sections road), the itinerary may be revised. It is possible that you will need to use another mode of transport, such as rail or sea.

In special cases, they can provide escort in the form of several patrol cars with flashing beacons orange color. They will not give any priority in traffic, but will warn other car owners of a potential threat.

If a convoy consisting of several long vehicles is moving, the following requirements must be met:

  • accompanying cars with flashing beacons in front and behind the column;
  • the distance between each unit of transport must ensure safety;
  • if dangerous goods are transported, the presence of another additional heavy vehicle will be required to transfer the cargo to it in case of unforeseen situations.

In conditions of poor visibility, all vehicles must be equipped with signal lights.

There are also such cases when transportation of oversized cargo may be refused:

  • it is possible to transport it in other ways - railway, air or sea transportation;
  • the cargo is divisible, that is, it can be disassembled without damage;
  • 100% safety cannot be ensured, for example, if the route passes through settlements or near dangerous sections of the road.

Well, the most important point is that only technically sound vehicles are allowed for such work. Therefore, before starting, it is necessary to undergo a complete diagnosis, eliminate any malfunctions. Drivers also undergo a mandatory medical examination and observe work and rest regimes.

In a passenger car, goods can be transported in the cabin, in the trunk, and on the trunk. But subject to certain requirements.

1. Transportation of cargo is prohibited if it limits the driver's view.

If the load being transported obscures the rear view, this is only permissible if the vehicle is equipped with exterior rear-view mirrors on both sides.

However, if the cargo closes the view on the right or left, or, God forbid, in front, then the transportation of such cargo is strictly prohibited.

2. Transportation of cargo is prohibited if it makes it difficult to drive a vehicle.

To place the load, the driver pushed his seat forward a lot.

Now it will be difficult to drive a car. And, therefore, such transportation of goods is prohibited.

3. Transportation of cargo is prohibited if it violates the stability of the vehicle.

The vehicle is sensitive to a shift in the center of gravity. If the load is heavy, then with this arrangement the car will inevitably pull to the left.

And it’s better not to talk about turns or turns.

This is how to arrange the load - it's smart. And it does not contradict the requirements of the Rules.

4. Transportation of cargo is prohibited if it covers external lighting devices, as well as registration or identification marks.

I can't imagine the load that covers the headlights, and even more so, the front numbers. That is, you can imagine it - let's say the load on the trunk and hangs down to the ground. But in this case, the load necessarily closes the driver's view. And this alone is enough to make such transportation impossible.

But if the cargo closes rear numbers and block rear parking lights, then it does not interfere with movement.

But the Rules for such transportation of goods is prohibited.

5. Transportation of cargo is prohibited if it interferes with the perception of hand signals.

The rules refer to the situation when the direction indicators or brake lights fail on the way, and you need to somehow get to your destination. In this case, as you already know, the driver is required to give hand signals. So, if the cargo being transported prevents other drivers from seeing these signals, further movement is prohibited.

6. Shipping is prohibited if it is noisy, dusty and polluting environment.

One can imagine how a cargo can dust or pollute the environment. But how he can make noise, by God, I don’t know.

7. If the cargo protrudes beyond the dimensions of the vehicle.

less than 1 meter ,

If the load protrudes beyond the dimensions of the vehicle in front or behind more than 1 meter , then…

... during daylight hours, the cargo both in front and behind must be marked with identification signs "Oversized cargo" ...

... and at night or in conditions of insufficient visibility, in addition to the sign, the cargo must be marked in front with a lantern or a white reflector, and in the back - with a lantern or a red reflector.

If the performance behind more than 2 meters, the transportation of such cargo must be agreed with the traffic police department, on the territory of which the transportation route begins. That is, for you and me, this simply means that the transportation of such cargo is prohibited.

Interestingly, the Rules did not limit the protrusion of the cargo in front. And, therefore, here the driver needs to be guided by common sense.

8. If the cargo protrudes from the side of the vehicle.

As for the protrusion of the load from the side, here the Rules set a difficult task for the drivers. It is necessary to measure the distance not from the extreme point of the vehicle dimensions, but from the edge of the side light.

If the protrusion of the load from the edge of the marker light does not exceed 0.4 meters, and the total width of the load no more than 2.55 meters, nothing to worry about. You can safely carry such a load.

If the protrusion of the cargo from the edge of the side light exceeds 0.4 meters, but the width of the cargo is not more than 2.55 meters, such cargo is allowed to be transported. It just needs to be marked.

During daylight hours, such cargo must be marked on both sides with identification signs "Oversized cargo".

At night and in conditions of insufficient visibility, the cargo, in addition to signs, must be marked in front with white lamps or retroreflectors, and in the rear with red lamps or retroreflectors.

If the width of the load exceeds 2.55 meters (regardless of how much it protrudes from the side), consider that the carriage of such a load is prohibited.

Transportation on a vehicle can only be carried out for those items that meet certain parameters, because otherwise a fine for oversized cargo will be imposed. Transportation of various things, objects, equipment and other large objects must be organized correctly, and you can read about how to do this in the rules of the road.

So, what is oversized cargo? This includes all items that exceed the following specifications (in meters):

  • width - 2.55;
  • length - 13.6;
  • height - 2.55.

If you need to transport cargo of such dimensions, then it must be correctly marked. For this, a special sign is used. It must also be installed on the load if it exceeds the length of the vehicle by 40 cm on the sides, and by 1 meter in front or rear.

What is bulky cargo, we found out. Before you set off, you must contact the traffic police and agree on a route. Transport without permission is prohibited.

It would seem that everything is clear, and therefore, in the presence of any violation, traffic police fines can be immediately applied. However, there is a certain difficulty. In fact, it is not easy to correctly measure and fix an oversized height, and therefore whether there will be a punishment depends on the particular inspector.

In most cases, traffic police officers do not have special equipment with which to measure the dimensions of a particular vehicle. Instead, a regular ruler purchased at a nearby store is used. This is where the problem lies, because it is impossible to find out the manufacturer or any characteristics of this line. If we talk about the certificate, then it never was, and is not. The inspectors understand this, and therefore, if the violation is minor, they release the driver, limiting themselves to a warning. How is the fine for violating the rules for transporting oversized cargo determined in 2019? In order to find out this, it is necessary to refer to the legislation, where the rules are clearly defined, as well as the responsibility for their violation.

Punishment for oversize

The fine for the transportation of any oversized cargo is provided for by the Administrative Code of Russia, namely, in article 12. Its size depends on the characteristics of the offense. The status of the offender also affects the amount of the fine. Legal entities will have to pay the most.

To begin with, we note that the decision on such cases is made in court. The traffic police inspector has no right to fine the driver on the spot. Nevertheless, the police officer is obliged to take the necessary measurements at the scene of the offense and document them. However, this creates certain loopholes for drivers. The fact is that when considering a case in court, it may indicate that the measurements taken are not accurate. This is especially true in cases where the excess of the norm was insignificant. For example, the load in width exceeded the allowable values by a couple of centimeters. Also, today there is no method that would guarantee the accuracy of such measurements.

However, this applies only to cases where it is difficult to prove the driver's guilt. If the violation is obvious, then there are clear penalties for transporting oversized cargo. So, there are 4 types of crime:

  • non-observance or non-coordination of the transportation route when moving oversized cargo;
  • transportation of items with dimensions that exceed the size specified in the permit by at least 10 cm;
  • transportation of goods, the mass of which exceeds the permitted one by at least 15% on one axle;
  • other violations that are not described in the previous paragraphs.

The minimum fines are for individuals. So, depending on the type of violation, from 1,000 to 2,500 rubles can be recovered from a citizen. Also, they may be subject to a penalty in the form of deprivation of rights for up to six months. As for officials, liability for an offense will hit the wallet harder, because here fines start at 10,000 rubles. The maximum fine is 15,000 rubles.

Read also Basic rules for the transportation of oversized cargo

Concerning legal entities, then a fine of 200,000 - 400,000 rubles may be imposed on them, and the court may also confiscate the vehicle. Liability for transportation of non-standard in width or length cargo is possible subject to two conditions:

  • measurements are carried out using certified equipment;
  • measurements were witnessed by witnesses.

If the traffic police officer violated the procedure, then the driver can easily avoid punishment by challenging the decision.

Rules for the implementation of transportation

As a rule, large companies are engaged in large-scale transportation. Large trucks can carry various equipment, machinery and more. As we said earlier, first you need to get permission to carry out such transportation. To do this, you need to have the following information:

  • characteristics of the cargo and its dimensions;
  • the intended route of movement;
  • documents confirming the specified characteristics.

As for the last point, it can be various certificates and other papers.

It may take up to 1 month from the moment you apply for a permit to receive a response. Therefore, when you are planning some kind of transportation, always consider this period and coordinate the route in advance. If it turns out that there are some structures or communications on the way that will not allow the transport to pass, then the route will be redone. Sometimes it is not possible to build a route at all, and therefore it will not work to get permission. In this case, transportation by another mode of transport is considered.

Sometimes escorts in the form of patrol cars may be involved in the transport of dangerous goods. As a rule, they move with yellow flashing lights, which allows you to warn other drivers about oversized vehicles. At the same time, they do not have priority in movement.

In some situations, after consideration of the application for approval of the route, a refusal may be issued. There are the following reasons for this:

  • the cargo can be disassembled, which does not harm its structure and condition;
  • cargo can be transported by other modes of transport, which will bring less hassle;
  • transportation is dangerous to others, or there is a risk of an accident when driving through difficult areas.

Important! Oversized cargo can be transported only by those vehicles, the technical condition of which is ideal, which will ensure the safety of the event.

Before the car leaves, it will be checked for serviceability. If any damage is found, you will have to use another transport. Special attention given to drivers, as well as their selection. Before going on the route, they are required to undergo a medical examination. Mistakes in such transportations are not acceptable, because they can lead to serious consequences.

The need to transport goods different kind contributed to the increase in the transportation of oversized cargo. In such situations, in addition to the use of an appropriate vehicle capable of transporting bulky goods, many other factors must be taken into account. They are regulated normative documents. Including the rules of the road.

Oversized cargo: definition

This term is understood as a vehicle (with or without cargo) that exceeds in its overall dimensions the values established by regulatory documents. Thus, the transport affinity should not exceed 20 m in length, 2.55 m in width, and 4 m in height. With such dimensions, the total weight of the vehicle and cargo should not exceed 38 tons.

It is clear that lighter and smaller cargo is easier to transport, and therefore cheaper. Therefore, the transportation of oversized cargo is considered simpler if the dimensions are within the following limits: the length is not more than 2 m protrudes beyond the edges of the transport, the width is up to 3.5 m, the height is up to 4.5 m.

The difference between oversized cargo

There are several concepts that define large and heavy loads. It is easy for an uninformed person to get confused in them. Yes, more general concept is "oversized cargo". It is also sometimes called non-standard.

In a simpler and more understandable language, oversized cargo is a heavy or bulky item (sometimes both) that cannot be transported in the usual way in a container or a closed vehicle. An example of such goods can be agricultural machinery, drilling equipment, transformers, and so on.

Due to the wide variety of types of oversized cargo, it became necessary to classify them. They are divided into the following types:

  • Heavy, which, after loading onto a vehicle, causes an excess of permissible parameters in terms of mass or axle load.
  • Oversized cargo, which causes an excess of the overall dimensions of the vehicle.
  • Long-length, which, after loading onto the vehicle, protrudes beyond its tailgate by more than 2 meters.

Oversized and heavy cargo is difficult and very expensive to transport by air and rail. Therefore, most often use road transport.

Regulations

Transportation of oversized cargo must be carried out in accordance with the developed regulatory documents. This need is spelled out in the Civil Code of our country. Cargo transportation using road transport(both cars and trucks) must be carried out in accordance with the following documentation:

  • Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 2011 No. 272, which describes the rules for the carriage of goods by road.
  • The charter of automobile and urban (which moves on the ground and consumes electricity as fuel) transport. This Charter was approved by the Federal Law in 2007 under No. 259.
  • Instruction of the Ministry of Transport, adopted in 1996 (as amended and supplemented by Order No. 258 of 2012). It affects the rules for the transportation of bulky goods on the roads only in our country.
  • Government Decree of 1993 No. 1090, which refers to the rules of the road.

In addition to those described above, there are other legislative documents. Depending on the specific characteristics of the cargo (flammable, perishable, explosive and others), other standards must be taken into account. In addition, we must not forget about international agreements (and treaties).

General requirements for transportation

The requirements described in the transport documentation that affect dimensions and the weight of the transported goods relate to the vehicle and the load. In accordance with the legislation of our country, it is necessary to have a permit for the transportation of oversized cargo. Without this document, shipping is prohibited.

In the case of complex cargo, escort is provided. Cover can be provided by a car equipped with flashing lights. Cargo escort by traffic police officers is carried out after the conclusion of the contract. Such cooperation allows you to protect yourself and the transported cargo.

Transportation of goods with non-standard indicators is associated with a solution a large number complex issues (starting from obtaining a permit and ending with the escort of a traffic police car). Therefore, it is best for the correct design this process seek help from a specialist.

Travel routes

State bodies control whether oversized cargo is transported correctly. The definition of the controlling authority depends on the route of delivery of the cargo.

  • Local. AT this case The controlling body will be the organization that manages highways local importance. The place where the carrier's vehicle is located is selected.
  • Regional. Control over these types of transportation will be carried out by the federal highway authority, which is located closest to the place where the transportation began.
  • International. Permission in such a situation is issued by the Federal Road Service of the country.

You can obtain a transport permit by contacting the regulatory authority.

Cases of possible transportation

Oversized and heavy cargo can only be transported if the following conditions are met:

  • The placed load does not restrict the driver's visibility.
  • The load does not interfere with the handling and stability on the road of the vehicle.
  • The load does not cover the light and lighting, identification mark.
  • Oversized cargo does not prevent the driver from perceiving signals, signs and traffic conditions in general.
  • The cargo does not create unnecessary noise, does not damage the roadway, does not clog it.

If at least one condition is not met, the transportation of cargo is prohibited. It is only permitted after corrective action has been taken.

Transportation rules

Oversized cargo must be marked. If it protrudes beyond the dimensions of the car by 1 m in front and behind, by 0.4 m on the sides, a corresponding sign"oversized cargo".

Transportation of goods in darkness is carried out using lamps or reflective elements. This element is set in front in white, and in the back - in red.

Compliance with traffic rules

First of all, it is necessary to observe the speed limit. When driving on roads, the speed should not exceed 60 km/h. On bridges, the speed is reduced to 15 km / h. In order to ensure safety, the driver must comply with this speed limit. He is also prohibited from driving on roads other than the given route, moving in conditions of ice or poor visibility (less than 100 m).

It is also prohibited to drive on the side of the road. The driver can stop only in places designated for this next to the road. In the event of a vehicle malfunction, the driver must stop driving. He is obliged to do the same in case of violation of cargo securing.

Cargo transportation

Oversized cargo can be transported if the following procedures are observed.

For transportation, you must first obtain a special permit from the regulatory authority. An application for its issuance is considered by an authorized person within 3-4 days. This period may be extended up to 30 days if transportation is possible only after a change in the original design.

The regulatory authority may not issue the required permit. This is possible if:

  • Oversized cargo can be disassembled into separate parts of standard sizes.
  • Impossible to ensure safety during transportation.
  • Possibility to carry more than in a safe way(for example, by plane or by rail).

In some situations, an escort must be provided. Such cases include:

  • The width of the vehicle with a load is more than 4 m.
  • The length exceeds 30 m.
  • The carrier occupies some part of the oncoming lane.
  • In the event of a change in the conditions of carriage in order to maintain traffic safety.

The accompanying car must meet the requirements for it, ensuring traffic safety. It must be equipped with orange flashing lights. He must move at a distance established by the SDA from a truck (or car) that carries oversized cargo.
