Is it possible to take chocolate on a plane? What food can you take on a plane in your hand luggage?

Hello everyone, my dears. You can’t even imagine how many questions I get asked about what food can be carried in hand luggage and what cannot. It seems that if you wake me up at night, I will be able to answer any question in this area. So today I decided to write an article in which I will tell you EVERYTHING I know about food on an airplane.

I understand that, most likely, each of you is only concerned about how to transport a certain product (sausage or meat). But I beg you, read this article attentively to understand general logic of product bans.

If you understand it once, all questions in the future will disappear by themselves. And you will never again have to rack your brains over such questions or say goodbye to your products at customs control. So, I hope you will read this article to the end, and I will begin.

In this article:

Why are products confiscated?

There are three reasons why you might lose your goodies.

1. They do not pass customs control

Each country has its own rules regarding which products can be imported/exported, in what quantities, and which ones cannot. These rules are established to prevent the spread of infections (bird flu, for example) or for other reasons.

This is why meat and dairy products cannot be imported into the EU countries. Because of this, the export of caviar from Russia for personal consumption is limited.

Therefore, if you are taking a flight that crosses a border, you simply must inquire about the customs rules of the country you are leaving and the rules of the country you are arriving at.

If you do not cross the border, that is, you are flying within the country, you are not threatened by customs rules, you can move directly to the next point.

And I will briefly talk about several of the most famous prohibitions.

1. export of caviar from Russia:

  • sturgeon caviar (black caviar) no more than 250 g.
  • salmon caviar (red caviar) no more than 5 kg

2. import finished products of animal origin not requiring ready-made heat treatment (cheese, sausage, fish) to Russia - no more than 5 kg

3. import of alcohol to Russia:

  • no more than 3 liters of alcohol-containing drinks (including beer).

Customs regulations, which clearly indicate which products can be imported/exported and in what quantities, are a voluminous document. And covering them all quickly and in one article is simply unrealistic.

In addition, customs rules are constantly changing and becoming stricter. You can read it, which is extremely relevant at the moment. And I move on to the next limitation, which will answer many of your questions.

2. Products violate airline regulations

In addition to customs regulations, each traveler is subject to the laws of the air carrier with which he is flying. You understand that an airplane is not a car that can be parked on the side of the road and in which you can open the window to ventilate the cabin.

The airline is concerned that you do not create dangerous conditions for the flight with your items (including products).

That is why there are a lot of rules that seem stupid to many passengers, but are actually aimed at the safety of the flight. Let's look at each of these rules.

1 - rules for transporting liquids.

Airline liquids include not only water, but also:

  • any drinks,
  • jelly,
  • jam,
  • caviar,
  • pate,
  • yogurt,
  • sauce,
  • cottage cheese,
  • oil,
  • soft cheese,
  • canned food

All this can be carried either in luggage without any special restrictions on volume (remember the customs rules). And if you want to carry these products in your hand luggage, you must pack them in accordance.

That is, each product should be in a package with a volume of no more than 100 ml (not to be confused with grams), there should be no more than 10 packages, and they should all be in one transparent zipper bag.

For example, you want to bring honey to your family and carry it in your hand luggage. Then it should be in a jar of no more than 100 ml and placed in a transparent bag along with your cosmetics, as most cosmetics ( toothpaste, cream, mascara) also has a liquid consistency and belongs to liquids.

2 - volume of containers.

Imagine that you bought a can of good coffee abroad, but it was taken away from you at customs, and you could not understand what was wrong. In fact, the volume of your jar turned out to be more than 100 ml, so it is confiscated.

What to do? Do not buy coffee in cans, only in bags or pack cans in your luggage.

But there is such a peculiarity that they do not pay attention to iron cans with cookies or tea (this happened to us). I don't understand what the difference is. But the fact remains a fact.

3 - original packaging.

All products that may raise questions (liquid or animal origin) must be in their original packaging. Think for yourself which airline would want to let you board the plane if you are carrying several bottles of liquid of unknown origin in your luggage. Even if this is homemade wine that your grandmother prepared, it will be very difficult for security officials to prove it.

It's the same with meat at customs. Who will allow you to bring a piece of meat of unknown origin into the country? All these products must be in their original packaging.

4 - satisfaction of acceptable dimensions

Each airline sets its own limits on and. Your products must fit within these rules.

That is, if you are allowed to carry one bag of a certain size in your carry-on luggage, then all products must fit into it. This applies to those who intend to carry, for example, fruit in their hand luggage. And I move on to the third limitation...

3. Products interfere with other passengers

I decided to highlight this limitation so that you can pay attention to it. special attention. The products you are carrying must not disturb other passengers with harsh or unpleasant odors first of all.

These odors can be produced smoked fish, sausage or eggs. Therefore, take special care to pack your products properly. You don’t need to come up with anything special, just wrap them in cling film, a few bags.

To prevent the fruit from getting bruised in transit, place it in a box. Don't forget to leave durians outside the plane if you don't want the whole plane to hate you ;-).

Take food on the road

Yes, you can take snacks on the road.

  • cookie,
  • candies,
  • chocolate,
  • fruits
  • and even sandwiches (without products with a strong smell)

You can take all this with you on the plane.

Also, if you are flying with a child, remember that you can take required quantity water and liquid nutrition, not paying attention to all the above problems.

How to understand whether your product can be transported

So, you have become acquainted with the basic rules for transporting products. If you have read everything written above, I bow to you. Let me write a small algorithm that will help you determine whether your product can be transported or not.

1. Determine whether you are flying internationally or domestically.

2. If you're flying domestically, you don't care about customs regulations, you only need to think about the airline's regulations.

3. If you are flying abroad, find out the rules of customs of the Russian Federation (you can hotline ) and the customs rules of the country you are flying to (Google it). And then think about the carrier's rules.

4 . Please ensure your product is in original packaging.

5. If your product is liquid and its container volume is less than 100 ml, you can carry it in hand luggage on an airplane according to the rules for transporting liquids.

6. If your product is liquid and its container volume is more than 100 ml, then you need to check it in as baggage.

7. If your product is not liquid, but its container is more than 100 ml, then also check it in as baggage.

8. If the product is large and does not fit into the allowable dimensions of hand luggage, it is also included in luggage.

These are the tips, my dears. I hope that my article helped you understand at least a little about the rules for transporting products. Be sure to read the article about, this will solve all the main questions in this topic. That's all for today, thank you for your attention and bye!

Many of us fly by plane on vacation, on business trips to get a job, etc. If the flight is not long, problems with food do not arise.

What if the flight is long and with not just one but several transfers? And if you fly on budget airlines, where you will have to pay for tea or juice. Moreover, when transferring, you have to wait for a plane for several hours, and the airport buffets have mind-boggling prices.

Then the question arises: “Is it possible to take food on the plane?”

I think this question is of interest not only to me, but also to others.

Carry-on luggage on an airplane

Hand luggage- This is your unchecked baggage, the things you take with you on the plane.

Economy class ticket holders can take 1 piece of hand luggage on board, business and first class passengers can take 2 pieces each.

The allowed size of hand luggage is usually: 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm or 115 cm in the sum of 3 dimensions.

The weight allowance depends on the airline, aircraft type and route; below are the permissible weights of one piece of hand luggage for some airlines:

Baggage whose dimensions and weight do not meet these standards is transported in the cargo compartment.

Many have already heard that carrying liquids in hand luggage certain restrictions apply.

Liquids (including creams, aerosols and gels) can be carried in hand luggage only in accordance with the following requirements:

  • The volume of containers containing liquids should not exceed 100 ml. (i.e., even if the liquid itself is only 50 ml., the container in which it is located should hold no more than 100 ml. To prevent controversial situations with the security service, it is recommended to use containers for liquid (tubes, jars, etc.) with indicating their volume).
  • All containers must be stored in one resealable transparent container. plastic packaging. The total capacity should not exceed 1 liter. (i.e. you can take 10 bottles of no more than 100 ml each)

You can read about special containers and bags for packing liquids in our post about packing luggage.

Medicines (provided you have a prescription or doctor's certificate with you) and baby food, which may be needed during the flight, do not need to be placed in plastic packaging, but they must be presented to security. Be prepared to be asked to open jars of baby food and taste the contents.

Products purchased at Duty Free

When traveling within the EU: You can purchase liquids (spirits, perfumes, etc.) in Duty Free or on board all European airlines. The liquids you purchase will be packaged and sealed. If you are traveling on a connecting flight, sealed liquids should not be opened until you arrive at your final destination.

If your trip starts outside the EU and then you transfer to a connecting flight at an airport in the EU, you can also carry liquids and gels purchased at Duty Free outside the EU.

Pay attention! The authorities of some countries, for example the Netherlands, prohibit passengers from carrying liquids purchased at duty-free shops outside the EU when transferring to a connecting flight at an airport in the EU.

It is allowed to carry liquids purchased in Duty Free stores at the following airports in hand luggage:

  • All airports in Canada
  • All US airports
  • Kuala Lumpur
  • Singapore
  • Croatia: Dubrovnik, Pula, Rijeka, Split, Zadar or Zagreb

Items prohibited from being carried in hand luggage.

These items include:

  • Liquids, with the exception of liquids in small quantities and packaged according to the rules specified above
  • Animal products (dairy products, meat, cheese). This requirement does not apply to passengers flying from Switzerland, Andorra, Greenland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino and the Faroe Islands.
  • Weapon
  • Blunt and pointed objects
  • Explosive, flammable, chemical and toxic substances

WITH full list you can find it in our booklet.

In addition to your hand luggage, you can take with you into the cabin the following items:

  • handbag (including laptop bag);
  • coat, shawl, blanket or umbrella;
  • laptop, camera (a tripod is usually asked to be checked in as luggage, but some airlines allow you to take it in hand luggage, if when folded its length does not exceed 60 cm) or binoculars. You can read more about transporting a laptop on a plane in the post “Can I take a laptop on a plane?” ;
  • reasonable amount printed publications for reading during the flight;
  • a baby carrycot/chair or stroller weighing up to 10 kg.
  • crutches or other necessary orthopedic devices

If you plan to take food with you in your hand luggage, then read on "Is it possible to take food on a plane?"

Is it possible to take food on a plane?

Perhaps not everyone knows about this, but you can take food on board the plane, and not just the food you bought at Duty Free before boarding.

Knowledgeable tourists take with them not only chocolates and cookies, but also sandwiches and other homemade preparations. There are restrictions only on drinks, but the flight attendants serve them anyway, unless you fly on budget airlines, where you have to pay for tea or juice.

It is advisable to take protein-rich foods with you: chicken, beef, cheese, nuts. Choose products that do not have strong odor, which will not crumble too much and will not deteriorate during a few hours of flight and waiting at the airport.

For a snack, a mixture of nuts and dried fruits, sandwiches or a salad in a container is perfect.

Avoid strong-smelling and gas-forming foods (onions, garlic, fish, beans, broccoli), as well as fatty foods. You can ruin your stay on the plane not only for yourself, but also for many of your neighbors.

Remember that liquids, including gels, are prohibited for transportation. Except when they comply with the standards:

  • The volume of containers should not exceed 100 ml.
  • All containers should be stored in the same resealable, clear plastic container. The total capacity should not exceed 1 liter.
  • Each passenger has the right to carry only one such package.
  • Packaging containing containers containing liquids must be presented separately at the security control desk.

Which products are liquids and gels? The list is not very large, it includes: yogurt, sauces (for example for salad), cottage cheese, peanut butter, jam, jam, jelly, soup. But not everything is so simple, no one will definitely answer the question of whether you can take a pie with a creamy filling or a cake with you. This will depend on the decision of the security service.

All products must be carefully packaged in transparent bags or containers so that security personnel can see what is inside.

And one more little piece of advice: before placing the food you brought with you on the table, cover it with a napkin. You don’t know who sat here before you and how long ago it was wiped down.

What food should you take on a plane?

Food on airplanes often leaves much to be desired. Heartburn-inducing pasta with chicken and an insanely sweet chocolate waffle as a dessert are unlikely to awaken your appetite; you can only eat this if you are very hungry. Meanwhile, packing a bag of tasty and healthy food with you on the road won’t be the slightest bit difficult; the main thing is to have a clear plan. And then you don’t have to think about whether food is included in the price of the flight, and don’t worry about its quality. This same reserve can also help during long flights, when a significant amount of time passes between two meals. So, what can you enjoy and comfortably consume during the flight?

Fruits
Fruits are perfect both as a dessert and as a way to quench your thirst. The main thing is not to take with you those that need to be cleaned. Dirty hands, splashes on clothes and extra weight in the form of skins are not at all what you need. It is best to bring seedless grapes or any other berries, as well as apples. All this must first be washed, dried and it is best to put it not in a bag, but in plastic container with lid.

Mix of nuts and dried fruits
Of course, in stores there are also ready-made mixtures, but usually there will probably be something in them that you don’t like at all and will end up at the bottom of the jar, so it’s better to prepare a packed lunch from what you like. For example: mix a glass of roasted sunflower seeds without husks, a glass of dried apricots or prunes, half a glass of nuts (almonds or hazelnuts) and a couple of handfuls of dried cherries. All this, again, is more convenient to place in a plastic container, since plastic bags tend to open, tear and crumble at the most inopportune moment. And it’s inconvenient to place them on the table.

Little carrots
This tasty and easy-to-transport root vegetable is often forgotten, and in vain. Firstly, it is very good for them to crunch during takeoff or landing, because... It's great for keeping your ears from getting clogged. Secondly, carrots are a good way to satisfy the desire to constantly chew something out of boredom, without harming your figure. And finally, if you bring some sauce with you, you can dip the root vegetable into it and get an almost restaurant-quality appetizer. The main thing is to wash the carrots in advance. By the way, during the season, small cucumbers are a good substitute for carrots; the main thing is to find tasty and fresh ones.

Sauces
Not necessary, but people who are used to eating sauces, take one or two sauces with you. These may be small boxes from McDonald's. But remember that transportation liquid substances on the plane is limited.

Crackers
Crackers, breadsticks or FinnCrisp from home are great for snacking. The main thing is to choose an option that is not too crumbly.

Muesli bars
If you don’t have time to pack food for the road, take with you a variety of muesli bars and dried fruits. There are a great many types of such bars on sale, and you can buy them not only in the supermarket, but also in almost any pharmacy.

Inedible items
Of course, you should definitely take wet and dry wipes with you, which will definitely be used. If there are shops in the sterile area, you can also take an empty travel water bottle with you and fill it with your own mix, the ingredients for which can be purchased after security control.

Adviсe

And many people are very thirsty on the plane, but you can’t take too much liquid, you can take liquid with you in your luggage. But you can take juicy fruits and an empty bottle.
And fly with a bottle, which you fill at the airport, after all the checks. You can ask the stewards for water. Dehydration is scary, so the more you drink, the better.
You can take apples and bananas.

Advice - take dried fruits, nuts (preferably not peanuts, so that your neighbor does not develop angioedema:() Take sandwiches that are individually wrapped, with chicken, regular, non-smelly cheese. All sorts of bars.

And don't forget to bring an empty trash bag!

Part 1 - Is it possible to take food on a plane? Carry-on luggage on an airplane.

Air travel is the fastest and most comfortable way for a passenger to get from point “A” to point “B”. It is difficult to find an adult citizen of our country who has not flown on an airplane at least once. But even experienced airline passengers cannot always accurately answer the question: “What can be taken in hand luggage and what cannot?” We will try to understand in detail all the intricacies of air carrier rules.

Definition of hand luggage and allowance

Carry-on luggage is the name given to the passenger's personal belongings carried in the cabin of the aircraft. Most often these are bags, packages, baskets and backpacks. It is important to understand that it is not the number of items that is counted, but their total volume and weight. How many bags can you take? As many as you like, the main thing is that together they comply with established standards. The standard one that can be taken into the salon is 115 cm in the sum of three dimensions (55x40x20 cm). At the same time total weight Passenger bags should not exceed 10 kg for economy and comfort classes; 15 kg for business class. Please note that these are the standards of many major air carriers, including Aeroflot. Some companies set their own requirements for permissible weight and the volume of hand luggage. When using the services of a particular carrier for the first time, you should familiarize yourself with its rules.

What can you take into the cabin, besides hand luggage?

On long flights, passengers want to have as many personal items as possible on hand. Airlines are doing their best to accommodate their customers. Not long ago, a list of items allowed for transportation in the cabin in addition to hand luggage appeared. a diplomat or folder with documents up to 30x40x10 in size is not included in cabin baggage and can be carried by a passenger. During the flight, you can carry 1 laptop, carried in a special bag, and 1 camera/binoculars. In addition to hand luggage, you can take 1 umbrella and a limited amount of newspapers into the cabin for reading during the flight (2-3 newspapers/magazines or 1 book). Each passenger can carry one package of Duty Free purchases. What clothes and accessories can you take in hand luggage? Almost everything respects the general dimensions and weight. Experienced travelers advise: try to wear as much as possible and put it in your pockets. Do not forget that the clothes the passenger is wearing (including outerwear) cold period) is not considered hand luggage. If you fly often, pay attention to special jackets for travelers with many spacious pockets.

Packing your bag for the trip correctly

Most airlines offer their customers very favorable conditions luggage transportation. It would seem, why take anything else to the salon? But it is still difficult to completely do without hand luggage. We recommend that you pack the bag you will take with you on the flight at the same time as your main suitcase. In your hand luggage you need to put all the most valuable and fragile things, as well as items that you may need during the flight. Be sure to take documents, money, jewelry and electronics. If you are bringing some fragile souvenirs with you, it also makes sense to place them in your hand luggage. Don't forget about cosmetics. We will describe in detail below how to package liquid cosmetics. When collecting cabin luggage, remember that a suitcase checked into the luggage compartment may get lost. Unfortunately, none of us are immune from such troubles. Accordingly, it would be useful to put it in a small travel bag complete set clothes for a change. What hand luggage can you take on a plane, and where should you put your cabin luggage? Most convenient options for packing essentials: a bag or backpack with many compartments. Choose transformers that easily change their external dimensions. This is very convenient if you are flying with a company that has more stringent requirements for hand luggage. Using a transforming bag, you can always change its size in one motion.

List of Prohibited Items

When packing for a trip, be sure to study and remember the list of things that cannot be taken on board the plane. Airline passengers are prohibited from transporting any weapons, as well as souvenirs and children's toys depicting them. You cannot take any flammable, explosive or toxic substances with you into the aircraft cabin. Attention: household chemicals, cosmetics and some medications fit the description of this category. Many women are accustomed to wearing handbag manicure set. Put it out urgently, since any sharp, piercing or cutting objects cannot be carried in hand luggage. In particular, these are cutlery, knives, tools, cosmetic and medical accessories.

Aeroflot rules. Carry-on luggage: what liquids can you take into the cabin?

Transportation of any liquid substances is a special point in the rules of any airline. From year to year, the standards are becoming more and more stringent, and this is done solely for safety reasons. The thing is that, under the guise of household liquids, terrorists have repeatedly tried to smuggle explosives on board. How much liquid can you take in your hand luggage today? Let's look at the example of the standards of the largest air carrier in Russia - Aeroflot. One passenger can take into the aircraft cabin no more than 1 liter of liquids packed in containers with a volume of no more than 100 ml. All liquid products must be stored in one resealable transparent bag, the recommended size is 20x20 cm. The definition of “liquid” includes any cosmetics, food, and other non-solid substances. Carefully study the rules of a particular airline. In most cases, products such as lipstick, toothpaste, cosmetic creams, canned food, soups, jam and caviar are also considered “liquids”.

Duty Free purchases

Many airline passengers love to shop at Duty Free. Airline companies please their customers with the absence of strict requirements and restrictions in this regard. Today, each passenger has the right to carry 1 package of Duty Free purchases with him in the aircraft cabin. Take the time to study the intricacies of the legislation of the country into which you are importing such luggage. For example, one person can bring only 2 liters into Russia alcoholic drinks and 2 cartons of cigarettes. When flying on transit flights, the Duty Free package becomes part of the passenger's carry-on luggage during a transfer. Remember this rule, and if you plan on shopping during the flight, leave enough space in your cabin luggage for purchases.

Is it possible to take food into the cabin of an airplane?

A popular question among novice air travelers is: “Can I take food and snacks in my hand luggage?” During long flights, passengers are provided with meals on board. But it is still much more pleasant to have, albeit a small, personal supply of food. Food products can be taken in hand luggage. The main thing is not to forget about the norms for transporting liquids. Respect the people around you and try to choose foods that don’t have a strong smell for a snack on your trip. It is also advisable to take with you for snacks foods that do not crumble. The best option- dried fruits, nuts, fruits, vegetables, sweets.

Rules for the carriage of non-standard baggage

It is not recommended to place fragile or valuable items in the luggage compartment, as the risk of damage is too great. If you plan to take anything unusual with you on your trip, check with your airline representative when purchasing your ticket. Animals are allowed to be transported in the aircraft cabin in specially equipped cages and carriers. Most airlines require an additional payment for this service in the amount of the cost of excess baggage. Is it possible to take musical instruments and large, highly sensitive equipment in hand luggage? Transportation of large and fragile items in the aircraft cabin is discussed individually. In most cases, air carriers accommodate passengers halfway. Carriage of non-standard luggage in the cabin is not always free. For example, a passenger may be offered to purchase a separate ticket for a large musical instrument and advise transporting him in a purchased chair.

Where is hand luggage stored?

If you are flying for the first time, do not hesitate to ask the flight attendants for help stowing your cabin luggage. Hand luggage in the aircraft cabin is carried on the overhead shelves (located above the passenger seats) and/or on the floor under the seats. Try not to put away things that will be used during the trip: snacks, gadgets, books and magazines. All the necessary little things can be placed on the folding table. If you're still wondering how much hand luggage you can take on a plane, choose two bags or one backpack and a bag. If you divide all the cabin luggage into two parts, it will not be difficult for you to manage it.

Be sure to check what you can take in hand luggage and what you can’t at the stage of purchasing a ticket. The thing is that the rules of different airlines may differ slightly. During the flight, listen to and follow all requirements and recommendations of the flight attendants. Remember, you cannot use most modern gadgets while flying. Computers, tablets and smartphones create and receive electronic signals that can interfere with the operation of aircraft controls. Be mutually polite to other passengers. Try to behave quietly and calmly, without creating inconvenience for others. Now you know what you can take in hand luggage, and it’s not that big of a deal. small list things. Many experienced travelers prefer to travel around the world with cabin luggage. Try and limit yourself to 10-15 kilograms of things. Perhaps traveling light will be an unexpectedly pleasant discovery for you.

Typically, travelers try to pack their carry-on luggage as much as possible so that everything they need is at hand. You can find a lot in my bag, including candy. Such sweetness can not only lift your spirits, but also has a more compelling purpose. If a person has low blood sugar, then such sweet snacks have great importance, this is a matter of human health.

On my first flight, I completely accidentally took a few candies with me in my hand luggage; I simply forgot that they were in my bag. But I passed through customs control quickly and my sweets did not attract attention.

Afterwards, I decided to make sure my actions were correct and read about acceptable products from a passenger on board the plane. As it turns out, you can take candy in your hand luggage. It is better if they are packaged according to standards and have corresponding signs markings.

The filling of the sweets does not matter, which means that if you take sweets with cognac or liqueur with you, they will not be confiscated at customs. But if you want to go through customs quickly without being stopped for inspection and asked questions, then I would not recommend taking such sweets with you.

Candies with “alcoholic” fillings are not best option sweets on board

The amount of candy in your hand luggage is not regulated by customs legislation, but before you get ready to fly, collect information about the rules of the airline whose services you will use. They can set their own limits on certain types products in your hand luggage.

Sweets can sweeten your flight and maintain your health at the proper level. Or you might want to take them with you as a souvenir. Cast aside your doubts - such sweets have a place in your hand luggage.

You will need to put all liquids in one transparent resealable bag no larger than 20x20 cm. You are allowed to take only one such bag on board the plane. Everything else that does not fit in this bag will simply have to be thrown away.

Baby food, dietary products and medications (if you have a prescription or a doctor’s certificate) that may be needed during the flight should be placed in plastic bag not required. By the way, don't be surprised if security staff may ask you to open the baby food and try it.

The volume of liquids that are allowed to be carried on board the aircraft

The total volume of liquids in the bag, together with the packaging in which they are located, should not exceed 1 liter, and the volume of each individual liquid (also taking into account the packaging) should be within 100 ml.

For example, you have a 110 ml bottle of perfume. And no matter how many spirits are left in it, these spirits will still not be allowed on board the plane.

To transport perfume in hand luggage, you can buy special train bottles not exceeding 100 ml.

Carrying food in hand luggage

Most airlines allow you to take food on board.

But it should be remembered that in the European Union there is a regulation that prohibits the import of dairy and meat products.

What products can you take on board the plane?

  • sandwiches
  • fruits, dried fruits, nuts
  • chocolate or candy
  • granola bars
  • baked goods, cookies, breadsticks, dryers, gingerbreads
  • salad in a container

Liquid products prohibited for transportation include:

  • jam
  • yoghurts
  • oil
  • pate
  • sour cream
  • sauces
  • cottage cheese

Carry-on luggage for children

If you are traveling with a small child under two years of age without a separate seat, you will most likely be allocated extra bed hand luggage standard size, but a little less weight.

You can also replace your (non-child) piece of hand luggage with a stroller or carrycot (if it folds and can fit in the compartment above the seats).
