What can be made from lining scraps. Where to put old wood and scraps of PVC pipes at the dacha? From cuts of thick branches

After any repair part finishing materials remains anyway. Should I throw them away? What if these are clapboard scraps? What can be done with this material, how to apply it, let's look further.

Scenery

Namely, a decorative decoration of the finish. Can be done interesting solutions on the walls using leftover wood. For example, these can be decorative additions in the form of planks, baseboards, but the main thing is to join them correctly. You can also do it simply interesting accents. For example, if there are a lot of scraps left, fit them to one size (square if possible), paint them black and white, arrange in the form chessboard one of the zones of the room in which such an element is most acceptable. You can also make other compositions from lining scraps by painting the wood in a variety of colors.

You can also decorate certain interior elements. A simple example is a flower pot. You can cut out planks, and they do not have to be the same size. Place these planks with glue on the most ordinary nondescript plastic pot. Thus, it will be a wonderful addition to the interior, especially if the flower pot is located in the same room as the clapboard wall decoration.

By and large, it’s enough to turn on your imagination and you can use the leftovers in the most different interpretations. For example, you can make tiny shelves from the leftovers, arranged in the form of a ladder or some set of individual steps. On these shelves you can place small figurines, flower pots and other pleasant interior little things that decorate life.

Another interesting move, you can make big ones out of leftovers wall clock. To do this, you will need hands with a mechanism; they can be taken from any old quartz watch. Cut uniform sticks from the clapboard scraps. Conventionally, draw a circle on the wall required diameter. The mechanism with the hands is placed in the center, and then the dial is made. To do this, uniform strips are cut out and placed on glue or liquid nails, directly on the wall in the form of Roman numerals. In general, such clocks can suit any interior, since the panels can be painted, making the useful decor unique and interesting.

Now about the baseboards. Using scraps, if they are, of course, more than 10 cm, you can make a plinth. This could be an element of the floor, ceiling or middle of the wall, for example. Moreover, thanks to the typesetting of such an element, it is also possible to make unusual solution, painting the parts in different colors. Especially when it comes to lining good class, which fits each other as closely as possible in width. And if there are scraps of eurolining, then even small planks can be laid perfectly thanks to a special lock.

But what if there are very few slats left, and you don’t really want to throw them away, but there is no use for them in the house? It’s okay, you can use them on the balcony, for example, using them as planks for organizing drying clothes. Especially if the entire balcony is lined with clapboard.

And in conclusion: in general decorative elements that remain after finishing works, it’s better not to throw it away. All you have to do is show a little imagination and it will work out good way add some zest to the interior. Make it more fresh, organic, interesting.

Types and advantages of material

She perfectly smoothed out all the shortcomings of her predecessors and preserved best characteristics, including an attractive appearance:

  • Anyone can handle it, and the price has become much more affordable.
  • This material has become widespread due to its excellent characteristics.

Note. The name “lining” comes from the fact that this type of lumber was originally used to close the gaps between the boards of freight cars.

Now this type of material is so widely used that there are already several basic types of lining:

  • Regular or eurolining.
  • Block house.
  • American.

And in order to start making anything from lining with your own hands, you need to know the main characteristics of each of these types.

Characteristic

  • The profile thickness is usually 12 mm.

In the photo you can see crafts made from the remains of classic lining:

Beautiful coffee table

When laid, the house block imitates round logs:

  • In fact, only one side is semicircular.
  • The thickness is usually 36 mm, and the length is from two to six meters.
  • But the width completely depends on the width and varies from 90 to 190 mm.
  • This lining is made from coniferous species wood

The last type, American, resembles a wooden beam:

  • As the name suggests, this type came to Russia from America.
  • The profile is made in the form of a rectangular trapezoid.
  • One part is thick, the second is narrow.
  • The thick one is from 22 to 40 mm, the narrow one is from 14 to 28 mm. It is mainly used for external laying of facades.

Furniture from lining: we do it together

In fact, the scope of application of lining is not limited to façade cladding alone. This material can be used quite successfully in many other areas.

Indeed, what’s so difficult about it is to take the bottom and a couple of sheets of lining. But you can build more interesting things.

For example, you can make excellent furniture from lining with your own hands:

  • When constructing furniture, you must first assemble wooden frame, which in the future needs to be covered with clapboard.
  • Moreover, you can assemble absolutely any furniture from lining: from kitchen cabinet to country bench. Here you are limited only by your imagination and ingenuity.

With the help of lining you can not only, but also assemble functional wardrobe. Making such crafts from clapboard with your own hands is much easier than it seems at first glance.

Functional wardrobe

It must be assembled on the basis of a wooden frame.

Collecting must be done in strict order:

  • First we assemble the rear and front frames. It is necessary to assemble 18 and 1.8 meters and fasten them with metal corners.
  • You can do without them, but then you will need screws at least sixty centimeters long.
  • The floor or bottom can be constructed from a thick sheet of plywood or OSB board.
  • From behind, using self-tapping screws or a construction stapler, we fasten the opposite wall. It can be made of laminated chipboard.
  • Then we fasten the back frame and the back wall together using anchors. The main thing is not to forget and set everything according to levels. Otherwise, the cabinet will turn out a little crooked.
  • After this, we attach 0.5 meter beams to the frame.
  • We fix them with anchors.
  • We attach the front frame to the ends of these beams.
  • To give the entire structure more rigidity, we attach the front frame to the ceiling and floor with anchors.
  • Inside we install guides on which the shelves will be installed.

If you plan to make a built-in wardrobe on the balcony, then instead of the walls of the back wall, ceiling and floor, the floor and walls of the balcony itself can serve perfectly.

It only makes sense to install such a cabinet on a glazed balcony. Otherwise, it will quickly deteriorate under the influence of weather changes in temperature and precipitation.

What can be made from leftovers from renovations?

We have known since childhood school board, every home has ironing board, in the kitchen we use a cutting board, we race through the streets on a board with wheels - a skateboard, we play chess and checkers... Where else can you use a board?

After repairs, various slats, bars, planks, old window frames, baseboards, pieces of plywood, hardboard are often left behind - what can be made from all this?

The tags include interior items, remodeling, furniture, ideas, order in the house, etc. you can scroll through and find a lot different examples which I posted earlier. Today I prepared a lot more interesting things

The very first thing that comes to mind is to use a piece of board for garden bench, or even small table etc.

You can cut out interesting ones cutting boards unusual shape. Cut plywood for hot trays. Sand with sandpaper, saturate and decorate the boards as a gift

If you attach furniture handles and small legs (for example, from large beads or the same furniture handles) and properly process and paint, you will get a serving board (like a tray)

You can even make an unusual art object by placing your favorite collection on the board, for example, beautiful buttons or bottle caps, etc. And it will turn out to be an interesting panel

You can also turn an unnecessary piece into a beautiful picture - paint it or even paste it over it beautiful postcards, or some bright illustrations. Or even cover it with beautiful fabric. Or you can even sew a beautiful patchwork fabric and cover it.

I have already posted so-called French boards. This is a board covered with fabric with foam rubber, for example. Or padding polyester, batting, etc. On such a board you can place photographs, postcards, pinning them with needles. Or tighten it with braid and place the photos without pinning them, but by placing them behind the banner.

On such a board you can store your collection of jewelry, also pinning it with pins, or clinging, for example, earrings to a constriction. Or you can immediately screw in hooks, or beautiful little furniture handles, or just drive in small nails and store jewelry and various things

From slats, baseboards, old window frames you can make frames for photographs, paintings or the same French boards. Clean, sand and paint.

Also, all sorts of bars, slats, boards can be used for mini-shelves and stands. Look what cool ideas! There are still a lot of ideas at the end.

You can do the same beautiful housekeeper, or a hanger, or an organizer board for all sorts of notes and little things. Cover it with beautiful fabric or paint it, attach hooks or furniture handles...

- You can draw a board yourself different games- chess, backgammon or even make a darts for throwing darts

In general, there is room to let your imagination run wild and use the opportunity for creative ideas.

Surely many people believe that the scope of use of such material as lining is limited only to the cladding of interiors and facades. However, this is far from the case. It can be used in many areas. And one of them is creating furniture. If, after covering a loggia, summer veranda, bathhouse or any other room with clapboard, waste of this material remains, do not rush to throw it away.

To make a cabinet from lining, it is best to take lining from non-resinous tree species: linden, oak, ash, and so on.

Furniture made from lining has a very attractive appearance. And with some tools and a little imagination, you can create amazing cabinets, tables and benches.

This activity is very interesting and exciting. And not as complicated as it might seem at first glance. To create furniture from lining, you don’t have to be a master carpenter at all. The instructions below for creating a cabinet and table will help you create useful furniture for your loggia with your own hands and pleasantly pass the time.

Wardrobe made of lining

The basis of the cabinet will be a frame made of wood, which will then be covered with clapboard. Using the same principle, you can make any other furniture from lining, for example, a box-bench for a balcony.

First of all, to make furniture from lining, you need to acquire a tool such as:

  • screwdriver with magnetic attachment;
  • drill with feather drills;
  • reciprocating or circular saw;
  • roulette;
  • building level;
  • furniture stapler;
  • hammer.

Diagram of installation of fasteners and fastening of shelves for the cabinet.

Materials for installing the cabinet you will need:

  • pine beams 40x40 mm for the cabinet frame, which must be well dried and without signs of rotting;
  • boards or thin bars to create the frame of cabinet doors;
  • boards or chipboard for making shelves;
  • lining for covering the cabinet and its doors;
  • metal corners for connecting elements;
  • fastening elements: self-tapping screws, wood screws, nails and clamps for lining;
  • furniture fittings: hinges, door handles and locks;
  • wood varnish.

First of all, you should carefully select the material. It is better to select lining from wood that contains a larger amount of resin: linden, ash, oak.

The higher the class of lining, the more attractive appearance she has.

It is better not to buy technical lining; it is not suitable for making furniture. It all depends on your financial capabilities and preferences.

The amount of material chosen depends on the design you have in mind. If the closet is built-in, then its walls will serve as the walls of the house. In this case, material will only be needed for lining the cabinet doors. The back of the cabinet can be made from laminated chipboard distinguished by its strength and durability.

Frame making

Folding table diagram.

The basis of the cabinet should be a wooden frame. It is done according to this scheme:

  1. Assemble the front and rear frames by fastening beams 1.5 and 1.8 m long together using connecting angles or self-tapping screws 60-75 mm long.
  2. The bottom of the cabinet can be plywood.
  3. Using self-tapping screws or furniture stapler attach laminated chipboard to the back frame.
  4. Next, secure the back frame of the cabinet to the wall using anchors that are strictly level.
  5. Make guides from slats inside the cabinet or attach special furniture fasteners on which the shelves will be placed.

Door trim

Scheme of a folding table.

Covering cabinet doors with clapboard will make them attractive. This is done like this:

  1. Assemble a rectangular frame of the required size from the boards. The boards should be as thin as possible.
  2. To ensure the frame has sufficient rigidity, add a jumper. It can be made across the frame or diagonally.
  3. Lay the frame on a horizontal surface and attach the clapboard cut to size to it and secure it with nails. It is advisable to select the material for lining cabinet doors as thin as possible. This will reduce the weight of the doors.
  4. When the cabinet doors are completely sheathed, they can be decorated with platbands.
  5. Attach at the end door handle and a castle.
  6. The last stage in the assembly wooden furniture- its varnishing. All fittings must be removed before varnishing. A varnished cabinet will look beautiful and, most importantly, will be protected from moisture.

Folding table made of clapboard

Lining - universal material. Even its waste can be used. From the remnants of this material, you can also assemble a folding table for the loggia with your own hands, which will be an excellent addition to the interior.

To make such a table you will need the following materials:

  • 2 linings 2600x85;
  • 3 bars 20x40 mm;
  • boards for making legs for a table;
  • screws, wood screws;
  • connecting corners;
  • wood varnish.

So, let's start making a folding table:

  1. Cut each of the 2 linings into 4 parts, 650 mm each.
  2. Secure 3 bars with corners, as shown in Fig. 1. There should be gaps of about 50 mm between the middle and side bars.
  3. Having decided on the height of the table, make the first two legs for it. Attach them to the table guides. To “sink” the screw heads, use feather drills. Next make the other two legs. Their attachment points are taken depending on the length of the legs. The width of the legs when opened should ensure the stability of the table.
  4. Next, secure the second beam to secure the legs in the unfolded state relative to the tabletop.
  5. Adjust the legs until they are in full contact with the floor, cutting off any excess parts.
  6. Now the table is ready. Now you need to open it with varnish, and you can decorate the corners of the tabletop.

As you can see, you can get useful and very attractive furniture from this material. And making it yourself is not at all difficult. Furniture made from lining will be not only functional, but also aesthetically attractive.
