Crochet curtain holder patterns. Knitted curtain tiebacks

Knitted tiebacks for curtains, made by yourself can become an original, and most importantly, useful piece of furniture. By gathering curtains or drapes into intricate flounces, such tiebacks transform the window and allow you to create coziness in the room. At the same time, it goes well with various fabrics: from silk and organza to denser materials.

To make knitted curtain tiebacks you will need:

  • yarn;
  • crochet hook;
  • needle and thread;
  • lace or silk ribbon;
  • sequins and beads.

Step-by-step algorithm for making knitted tiebacks with your own hands:

Knitting motif in the form of ribbon lace

The pattern is knitted according to the pattern:

1st row - 8 air loops connected in the form of a ring.

2nd row – 1 chain stitch for lifting, the first 4 loops of the row (half of the ring) are knitted with a single crochet, 2 loops in 1 hole.

3rd row - 4 air loops for lifting, 8 loops of the row are knitted with a double crochet stitch.

4th row - 1 air loop for lifting, 8 loops of the row are knitted with a single crochet. In this case, between the loops you should pick up 2 air loops to form “teeth” along the edges of the part.

Having knitted the first element of ribbon lace in this way, you should pick up the base for the next fragment. To do this, 4 air loops must be attached to the base of the first element. The second and subsequent fragments are knitted according to a similar pattern. The length of the tie, and therefore the number of lace elements, depends on the thickness of the curtain and the material from which it is made.

Knitted tie decoration

You can decorate the finished product with sequins, beads or rhinestones. The main thing is that the color of the decorations, like the color of the yarn, is in harmony with the shade of the curtains.

Making ties

In order for our knitted tiebacks to support the curtains, it is necessary to make ties with which the product will tightly grip the fabric. To do this, you can use a regular lace or ribbon, which must be pulled through the holes of the crocheted lace, and the remaining ends tied around the curtain. It is worth noting that such ties will protect the yarn from stretching.

DIY knitted curtain tiebacks are simple and inexpensive to make and are suitable for any type of interior.

The idea to decorate home interior knitted accessories is as old as time, but that’s where its value lies. From century to century, women, using simple tools, have woven products of amazing beauty. Laconic white and blue knitted curtain for the garden

Not all village huts were divided into rooms, since the living space was located around a Russian stove installed in the center, and the kitchen, bedroom or dining room areas were conventional. Thanks to this there was no special rules for decorating crocheted curtains for the bedroom or kitchen curtains ok – all the accessories were made in the same style. It becomes clear why even tiny, modest products were distinguished by exquisite design and were made with amazing craftsmanship.

Short snow-white curtain with crocheted lace inserts

Distinctive feature lace products - compact sizes. Volumetric curtains lose their attractiveness, as the elegance and uniqueness of the original patterns are drowned in lush folds. On the contrary, a neat rectangular half-window curtain is a kind of small-sized but delightful work of art. Subtle knitted patterns form a narrative picture, and before us is no longer just a curtain - but a real hand-knitted masterpiece.

Modern crocheted products are practically no different from those that decorated the homes of our great-grandmothers. Many varieties of threads have appeared, which have become more wear-resistant and durable, but knitting techniques have remained the same. If you want to crochet curtains or curtains yourself using ready-made patterns, first you will have to understand the conventions and symbols that accompany the drawings.

Crochet technology: where to start

One of the advantages of needlework is that it does not require huge expenses, but necessary tool and raw materials for work can be easily and inexpensively purchased at a specialized store. So, you will need a small kit:

  • a hook (or better yet, a set of tools of different sizes);

The hook is the main and only tool that differs in size, which depends on the diameter of the head. You can choose a size from No. 0.5 to No. 8, but remember that its thickness should be approximately 2 times the thickness of the thread. The material of manufacture - metal, wood, plastic - does not matter, we focus on ease of use.

Convenient set with hooks different sizes

Cotton, linen, silk, wool, and synthetics are used to produce threads. For curtains in the kitchen it is better to stay at natural material or thread with a small addition of synthetic fibers - the finished fabric will hold its shape well and last much longer. We select the number of skeins depending on the size of the curtain model, and the color according to your taste.

Threads are sold in small skeins indicating the composition and thickness

Detailed diagrams and descriptions of the process of crocheting curtains can be found in books, magazines, and on websites for needlewomen. Schemes are images of patterns and ornaments in the form of special icons and symbols. Often only fragments of drawings are placed, since they are repeated or alternated. You may come across the following conventions:

Table symbols for beginners

Advanced, experienced craftswomen use more complex circuits allowing you to create unusual, voluminous or airy patterns. The number of symbols increases with increasing complexity of weaving:

A set of symbols for experienced needlewomen

Traditionally, there are several popular techniques for knitting curtains (this is also true for knitting in general):

  • Irish - combination artistic details, placed on the grid;
  • loin - alternating air loops and columns;
  • Bruges is an imitation of Vologda lace, the weaving of which requires bobbins;
  • Brumstick (Peruvian) - knitting with an additional thick knitting needle.

You can learn to work in any technique, but it’s better to start with the simplest one – fillet. To train a skill, it’s enough to use someone else’s idea, and in the future, having gained experience, it will not be difficult to create your own models of knitted curtains and other decorative items.

DIY crochet curtains: 3 models with patterns

Before creating curtains for the kitchen, it is better to practice on less voluminous products, such as napkins. Try using different sized tools and threads to see the difference in results. Having knitted a napkin from a certain material, measure it and wash it - this way you can determine how much shrinkage the finished fabric gives and whether it sheds after washing. We offer three options for crocheted curtains for the kitchen with patterns and brief descriptions.

Beautiful lungs curtains - a combined solution of a linen base and openwork lace in the form of a wide border with plant motifs. The color of the lace and background can be changed, focusing on the design of the surrounding interior. For example, for a bright room with dark furniture And completely snow-white knitted curtains will go well with white wallpaper.

Ready-made sample in yellow-blue tones

The dimensions of the parts knitted using the fillet lace technique are 13.5 cm x 80 cm. For two curtains you will need 4 parts - two inserts and two lower borders. Yarn quantity for specified sizes– 2 pcs. 100 g each (one skein is enough for 85 cm of border and 70 cm of insert), it is better to choose cotton threads in standard skeins of 387 m/50 g. Tool size - No. 1.

Schemes A - B

Diagrams A (bottom border) and B (inset) show the basic pattern. One cell corresponds to 3 loops: empty - 1 tbsp. s/n + 2 vp; filled - 3 tbsp. s/n. First we knit a border - 55 ch. and 3 v.p. rise, then insert - 79 v.p. and 3 v.p. rise. The number of rapports is free, it is necessary to finish in a mirror image.

To ensure that the fabric remains even after washing, make sure that the thread composition of the fabric and lace matches. After finishing work, stretch the finished elements, cover with a damp cloth and let dry.

Openwork lace with picot trim

Pico is an airy element that is often used to decorate the edge of lace with floral or ethnic motifs. Fillet knitting with picot looks light and delicate, allowing you to give knitted items more grace and fragility. The presented fragment can be used as a part to decorate a linen curtain or as a separate accessory - a knitted lambrequin for kitchen window.

For a product with dimensions of 32 cm x 58 cm, you will need white cotton yarn (330 m/50 g - 1 skein) and a hook No. 1.25 or No. 1.5. Width can be adjusted to fit custom sizes, each subsequent rapport - plus a chain of 40 vp.

Upside down row diagram

The point where you should start is marked with a small arrow (in the lower left corner). You should start with a chain of 361 vp. (1 ch inc instead of the first dc of the first row, 7 ch for the ruck of the first row), and then continue according to the pattern. From the 33rd row we begin to knit a picot - 13 vp, then 5 vp. connect d.st., perform another v.p. and 8 tbsp. b/n in the ring. We add s.st. to the first d.st. Row 33 ends with d.st. The model is ready.

Miniature curtain with fillet butterflies

The main function of crocheted openwork cafe curtains is decorative. With their help, you cannot completely drape the window and hide from sun rays, but it’s easy to make the interior more comfortable and homely. Small strips (no more than half a meter) are fixed to a metal or plastic rod in the lower half of the window opening. We offer a popular pattern - large butterflies, made using the fillet knitting technique.

Narrow fillet curtain with large butterflies

The dimensions of the finished product are 47 cm x 97 cm, white cotton thread and a hook size from No. 1 to No. 1.5 are used. The scheme is an alternation of empty and filled cells. Empty cell - 2 v.p. between two st. s/n, filled – 2 tbsp. s/n.

Patterns with large or small butterflies are no less popular than floral motifs. Instead of large images arranged in a row, you can use a pattern of small butterflies “scattered” over the lace in a chaotic manner. Here interesting option– butterflies fluttering over flowers.

Let's look at fillet knitting using a pattern.

You will need:

  • Cotton yarn;
  • Cotton fabric;
  • Hook.

Description of the scheme:

  • We cast on the required number of loops and knit a line from the VP.
  • Looking at the diagram, we continue: a free cell corresponds to a double crochet and two chain loops, and a cell with a cross, respectively, corresponds to three double crochets.
  • Every circular line must be started with 3 chain stitches and finished with 1 double crochet.
  • When the line comes to the center of the curtain, start mirror knitting from the previous line.
  • When completing the line, we perform 3 double crochets in the direction of the previous loop.
  • Fastened to the table ready-made curtain should be moistened, laid a cotton cloth on top and dried.

The fillet stitch pattern means that the hook is inserted into the middle of the upper part of the column, and not under the two half-loops of the column of the bottom row

Crochet curtain design (photo)

Good afternoon, friends!

Somehow I found out that there are knitted tiebacks for curtains. I loved it so much! Last year, after renovation, I crocheted tiebacks with large flowers. It looked very nice.

And then I saw such an interesting picture and an unusual pattern for scoops that I was inspired to make just these, my flowers simply faded in front of them.

The opportune moment came completely unexpectedly - out of the blue.

Necessary materials for knitting a tieback

Immediately I tried to knit a tie from the leftover yarn I had, but it was all a bit thick and nothing good came out.

For this elegant tie-in, only fine cotton yarn is suitable.

While I was planning to buy something similar, time passed, and in the summer there was no time for knitting.

The first day of my vacation began with a breakdown in the Internet. As explained in technical support, there was a large hacker attack and TP-Link equipment has failed. This story happened all over the country, maybe someone also encountered it? After reconfiguration, the router only worked for two days.

I had to buy and set up a new one. Since I myself don’t understand anything about this, I turned to the communication service specialists. But with our disorganization and bureaucracy, it took a whole week! I won’t go into details, but I was a lot nervous and sat without the Internet for so long.

And we were already so used to him, we missed him so much these days, and besides, I was worried about how my sites would be without me.

When I went to the center to buy a router, I went to the fix price store, I had already discovered excellent yarn for knitting: two skeins for only 55 rubles! Only the assortment is very small or they were sold out quickly.

So now I'm trying to go there more often. And this time I was actually waiting for yarn to match my curtains - light orange or salmon, I don’t know what to call this color better.

In a skein of 50 grams - 200 meters, 70% cotton, 30% viscose, called “peony”.

For finishing I found a similar yarn gray Houses.

For both tiebacks, one skein of the main color was used (a little thread was not enough to knit one last row, I had to open another skein) and about 25 grams of gray.

While there was no Internet, I cooked caviar from zucchini and just tied the hooks together.

I took the hook number 1.5.

During the knitting process, the product began to take on a rounded shape, I no longer began to unravel, but I think that I should still use a thinner hook and knit more tightly.

Crochet pattern

Description of knitting a pick-up with photo

We begin to crochet a curtain tieback by casting on a chain of the required length, I cast on 54.5 cm. In this case, the number of loops should be a multiple of 9 (the number of repeat loops) +1. I counted by 9, it made it easier not to lose count.

We knit rows from 1st to 7th with single crochets, changing the color of the thread in each row. There is a slight inconvenience - when changing the thread, there are ends that will have to be hidden. You can avoid this by changing the thread every other row, so it doesn’t have to be torn off. But in this case the thickness of the strip will double, I don’t know if it will look good.

8th row, main color thread: 2VP, arches of 16 VP, 1SC in every 8th loop of the previous row.

9th row: in each arch we knit 3СБН, 4С1Н, 1С2Н, 3ВП and in the reverse order - 1С2Н, 4С1Н, 3СБН.

10th row, attach a gray thread: in each column of the previous row I knitted a single crochet, although the diagram shows a half-column (connecting), in the arches - 1СБН, 2С1Н, 1С2Н, 2С1Н, 1СБН.

11th row, again a thread of the main color: 2VP, 11VP, 1SC in the center of the petal, 11VP, 1SC between the petals.

12th row: 3СБН, 4С1Н, 4С2Н, 5ВП, 4С2Н, 4С1Н, 3СБН.

13th row: as in the 10th row, single crochet with gray thread, in arches - 1СБН, 2С1Н, 3С2Н, 2С1Н, 1СБН.

14th row, change the thread: 2VP, 13VP, 1СБН.

15th row: 3СБН, 4С1Н, 6С2Н, 6ВП, 6С2Н, 4С1Н, 3СБН.

16th row, we attach the gray thread to the side of the straight stripe, in the diagram - at the level of the 7th row, but I attached it to the 1st and immediately made a loop of 6 VPs. We will then hang the catch on a hook for it. We tie the pick-up with single crochet stitches, we knit 4СБН, 3ВП, 4СБН into arches.

WITH reverse side We also make a loop of 6VP for the pick-up.

The pickup is ready, hide the ends of the threads from the wrong side, smooth the petals with an iron.
