When moving the gate, the drive must in normal mode (without overloads) overcome the following loads:

  • Wind pressure

Weight and length sash load is understandable, which is constant. It should only be noted that the equipment passport indicates the maximum parameters of the gate, which cannot be used simultaneously, because they are inversely proportional. That is, the heavier the sash, the shorter its length should be, and vice versa.

Stiff gate movement... This load depends on the quality of the fittings. If there are distortions or wedging during the movement of the sash, this leads to an increase in the gate resistance, due to which the operator will have to work with increased effort.

Snow and ice... Fittings for low temperatures air may freeze and the automation will need additional force to move the sash.

If the door leaf has various decorative elements(planks or niches), these can become places where snow will accumulate and ice forms, which will weigh down the gate.

Wind pressure. When the sliding gates are moved, wind pressure is practically not transmitted to the drive, but it still affects its operation.


It is difficult to foresee the magnitude of these loads, and even more so to assemble them into a single whole, therefore our experts recommend lowering the specified parameters of the gates for equipment by a factor of 2-3, so that the mechanism works without overloads.

At low temperatures, polymers become brittle and break, and at high temperatures they become soft and lose their shape under stress.

Self-locking drive

Sliding-800 is a self-locking mechanism that, after stopping, will not allow the leaf to be moved manually, therefore, it is not essential to install a lock to lock the gate.

Blocking occurs due to the fact that all gear drives gearboxes are in constant mesh with each other.

If it is necessary to remove the lock and move the gate manually, for example, when the power is turned off, you need to use the unlocking mechanism.

For this you need:

  • insert the key into the connector on the drive housing and turn it clockwise
  • pull the special lever
  • turn the key counterclockwise and remove it - the drive will be unlocked.

To return equipment to auto mode, the unlocking steps must be performed in the reverse order.


Control unit electronic board

For stable operation of the automation, the board has special filters to protect against electromagnetic interference.

On the board, all the terminals are signed, so it will not be difficult to connect it yourself. The board also has special connectors for connecting additional elements(safety photocells, signal lamp).


The board has light indicators for visual control of the automation operation.

It is located at the top under the drive cover and is additionally protected by a special case against dust and condensation.


When there is a need to make adjustments to the control board, there is no need to open its protective case, because all the fine tuning knobs are brought out of it.

The board has a special additional connector for connecting an antenna, which increases the range of the remote control.

It has a low impedance self-healing fuse. When an overcurrent occurs, the resistance of the fuse rises to knock down the current to a safe value.

When everything is back to normal, the fuse will restart itself and reduce its resistance.

In addition to a protective case against condensation and dust, the surface of the board is covered with a special varnish for greater safety.


The board is responsible for the following automation capabilities:

  • Automatic closing. The gate will close itself after the set time.
  • Reverse engagement after exceeding a preset effort. If the gate hits any obstacle and the motor is overloaded, the drive will begin to move the leaf in the opposite direction.
  • Wicket mode. You can stop and fix the gate, leaving any width for passage or passage.
  • Start with increased effort. For the first two seconds, the drive operates with increased power in order to move the gate without any problems.

Flush-mounted receiver

This electronic element built into the control board. The receiver receives signals from the remote control with a frequency of 433 MHz.

For signal transmission, you can register up to 60 remotes.

Rack

It is attached to the bottom pipe of the gate frame and moves them by receiving torque from the outer gear of the drive, translating it into a forward motion.

The rail is made of galvanized steel and can last a long time.

The length of the rail must correspond to the length of the sash (+ 1m), therefore it is supplied in one meter lengths.

Magnetic limit switches

These elements are designed to stop the drive when the gate is opened or closed as much as possible.

Magnets with special brackets are attached to the edges of the rack, and a reed switch is installed inside the drive.

When the magnet is opposite the actuator, its field acts on the reed switch, which breaks the circuit, stopping the motor.

If we compare a magnetic system with a mechanical one, it should be noted that it is more expensive, but does not fail in winter period, as is often the case with mechanics.

The fact is that a mechanical system in frost can freeze the spring on the drive to one of the switches, and the automation cannot be turned on, because the control unit will assume that the mechanical switch acts on the spring. Therefore, this node will have to be warmed up.

If there is snow on the surface of the toothed rack, then when the gate moves, the spring can rake it up until it is enough for it to bend back and turn off the automation.

In this case, you will have to clean the rack with a broom.

Over time, the metal spring can rust from atmospheric cages and break, as a result of which the gate cannot stop.


Photocell safety

These elements are needed to avoid a possible collision of the gate with an obstacle - they identify it in advance.

The receiver and transmitter are attached to poles or mounted on racks, between which an infrared ray is formed, breaking it off by an obstacle, will serve as a signal to stop the gate and direct it in the opposite direction.


When installing photocells on the posts, the obstacle will be detected earlier than their attachment to the posts, because they are located at some distance from the gate.
