The process should be photographed step by step (see Tips for photographing crafts) or filmed (see how to upload a video).

Order of registration: first photo - finished work which is proposed to be completed, the second photo - materials and tools necessary for the work (or their detailed description), then the stages of MK from the first to the last. The final photo (the result of the work) can repeat the very first one. Photos must be accompanied by clear and competent comments about the process.

If you have already published your MK on another site and you want to also publish it with us, then you need to follow all the rules for designing a MK described above. Flowers can be an excellent decorative element in the home, a wonderful decoration used to decorate gift packaging. There are a large number of simple and complicated ways their creation. You can make a small composition or great masterpiece, which includes large number fantasy plants.

Candles can be made from wax in different ways: rolling sheets of foundation; dipping a wick into melted wax; using ready-made forms, into which wax is poured. Paraffin is widely used for making candles, but natural beeswax is much safer for human health. Paraffin candles can release toluene and benzene, which form soot. Some people may have an allergic reaction to these substances. You can make a golden-colored candle with your own hands, which has a natural honey-floral or honey-herbal aroma, using natural beeswax. The advantage of such candles is that they smolder longer without soot. To create a fragrant and natural wax candle with your own hands, you will need a small amount of materials and tools, as well as some free time.

We make natural candles from wax with our own hands at home

First of all, we prepare workplace. A room with a constant temperature, running water and a stove is suitable for this. There should be no draft while preparing the candle.

Cover the work surface (for example, a table) with either an old tablecloth (waterproof) or a towel, you can use newspaper or other paper. It is better to also take care of the floor and cover it with a rug, old linoleum or thick cardboard.

Prepare all the necessary materials in advance:

  • beeswax;
  • cutting board (for grinding wax);
  • dishes for a water bath;
  • wick;
  • container for melting wax;
  • candle mold;
  • paper napkins (to wipe away wax drips);
  • nylon cloth or paint filter (clean wax);
  • glass jar or bottle for filtering wax;
  • bamboo stick (Chinese chopstick);
  • a piece of wire;
  • elastic bands;
  • scissors;
  • wire cutters;
  • a hair dryer or gas turbo lighter to level the base of the candles.
Wax amount and shape.

The amount of wax can be determined using water. Pour water into the selected molds and pour into a measuring cup. We calculate 1 kilogram of wax for 1 liter of water. It is also recommended to use wax that has undergone primary cleaning. But, in any case, additional filtration of the molten wax allows you to remove foreign particles.

Typically, wax requires a thick wick with a diameter of 1 to 4 mm. To form cast candles, you can use containers made of aluminum, polycarbonate, polyurethane and silicone. The most common nowadays is silicone molds. They have high heat resistance, are elastic, and do not stick to wax. You can purchase them in specialized stores and online.

First, we fix the wick: cut pieces of wire 15 cm long and bend them in half. Total length must be no less than the diameter of the mold. To attach, place the wick in the center, twist the wire and pull it tight.

Ready silicone form a hole has already been made to remove the figure. We carefully thread the wick there (in the middle), without tearing the mold. We secure the mold with rubber bands so that the wax does not leak out. Next, we fix the wick in a wire clamp and center it along the diameter of the mold, adjusting the tension.

The next step is a water bath. Pour water into the pan (no more than half, since another container with wax will be placed in it) and place it on the stove. While the water is boiling, use a knife to break the wax into small pieces (for faster melting, but do not turn the wax into powder). For faster grinding, you can pre-freeze the wax in the refrigerator. Fill the container with pieces of wax and place it in water bath(stove temperature can be reduced). Using a stick, you can check whether the wax has completely melted. Monitor the water level and top up if necessary.

We make a filter from nylon fabric: fold a piece of fabric in half and secure it with an elastic band glass bottle. Pour the filtered wax into the mold. It is better to do all these actions quickly while the wax is in a molten state.

Having filled the mold, pour the remaining wax into a bowl for melting and wait 15-20 minutes until the wax settles. To avoid the formation of voids in large forms, we do wooden stick two to three holes. We pass the wax through the filter again and fill the voids.

The completely filled candle is cooled at room temperature. As a rule, this takes no more than six hours.

When the candle has cooled, you need to remove the wick clamp, separating it from the wax using a knife. Then we cut off the excess part of the wick, leaving 1 cm in length.

If the base is not level, then use construction hair dryer or a gas turbo lighter at a distance of 15-20 cm. Heat the base and level the surface. After all the steps, remove the elastic band from the mold and remove the candle.
