Luke 6 chapter 26 conceived. Luke's Gospel Interpretation

1 On Saturday, the first after the second day of Easter, it happened to Him to pass through sown fields, and His disciples plucked ears of corn and ate, rubbing them with their hands.

2 And some of the Pharisees said to them, Why do you do what you ought not to do on the sabbath?

3 Jesus answered and said to them, Have you not read what David did when he himself and those with him was hungry?

4 How did he enter the house of God, took the offering-bread, which was not to be eaten by anyone but the priests, and ate, and gave to those who were with him?

5 And he said to them: The Son of man is master of the sabbaths.

6 And it happened also on another sabbath that he entered the synagogue and taught. There was a man whose right hand was dry.

7 But the scribes and the Pharisees watched him to see if he would heal on the sabbath in order to find an accusation against him.

8 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to the man who had a dry hand: Get up and go out into the middle. And he got up and went out.

9 Then Jesus said to them: I will ask you: what should be done on the Sabbath? good or evil? to save the soul, or to destroy? They were silent.

10 And looking at them all, he said to the man, Stretch out your hand. He did so; and his hand was restored as well as the other.

11 And they were furious and were talking among themselves what they should do with Jesus.

12 In those days He went up a mountain to pray and remained all night in prayer to God.

13 And when the day came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:

18 who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases, also those who suffer from unclean spirits; and were healed.

19 And all the people sought to touch Him, for power proceeded from Him and healed everyone.

21 Blessed are those who hunger today, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are those who weep today, for you will laugh.

22 Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they excommunicate you, and revile you, and bear your name as dishonorable for the Son of Man.

23 Rejoice on that day and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven. This is what their fathers did to the prophets.

25 Woe to you, now satiated! for free. Woe to you who laugh today! for you will weep and weep.

26 Woe to you when all people speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

28 Bless those who curse you and pray for those who offend you.

29 To him that smacked you on the cheek, substitute the other, and to him that takes away your outer garment, do not prevent him from taking a shirt.

30 To everyone who asks of you, give, and from him who has taken yours, do not demand back.

31 And as you want people to do to you, so you do to them.

32 And if you love those who love you, what thanks do you have? for sinners also love those who love them.

33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what thanks are you? for sinners also do the same.

34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what thanks are you for that? for sinners also lend to sinners in order to get back the same amount.

35 But you love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is good to both the ungrateful and the wicked.

36 So be merciful, as your Father is merciful.

37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;

38 Give, and it will be given to you: with good measure, shaken down, compressed and overflowing, they will poured into your bosom; for with what measure you mete, it will be measured to you also.

39 He also told them a parable: Can a blind man lead a blind man? will not both fall into the pit?

26 And they sailed into the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee. 27 When He went ashore, a man from the city met him, possessed by demons for a long time, and who did not wear clothes, and who lived not in a house, but in graves. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell before Him, and with a loud voice said: What have you got to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me. 29 For Jesus commanded the unclean spirit to leave this man, because he tormented him for a long time, so that he was tied with chains and bonds, saving him; but he broke the bonds and was driven by a demon into the wilderness.

30 Jesus asked him: What is your name?

He said, Legion, because many demons entered into him. 31 And they asked Jesus not to command them to go into the abyss.

32 Right there on the mountain a large herd of pigs was feeding; and demons asked Him to allow them to enter them. He let them. 33 The demons, coming out of the man, entered the pigs, and the herd rushed from the steepness into the lake and drowned.

34 The shepherds, seeing what had happened, fled and told in the city and in the villages. 35 And they went out to see what was done; and coming to Jesus, they found the man out of whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and were horrified. 36 And they that saw, told them how he who had been possessed was healed. 37 And all the people of the Gadarene region asked Him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. He got on the boat and returned.

38 But the man out of whom the demons had come out asked Him to be with Him. But Jesus dismissed him, saying: 39 Return to your house and tell what God has done to you. He went and preached throughout the city what Jesus had done for him.

40 When Jesus returned, the people received him, because everyone was expecting him.

41 And behold, there came a man named Jairus, who was the ruler of the synagogue; and, falling at the feet of Jesus, he asked Him to come into his house, 42 because he had one daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying.

When He walked, the people pressed on Him. 43 And the woman who had been suffering from bleeding for twelve years, who, having spent all her possessions on doctors, could not be healed by any one, 44 came up from behind and touched the hem of His garment; and immediately her blood flow stopped.

45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all were denied, Peter also said to those with Him: Master! the people surround You and oppress You - and You say: Who touched Me?

46 But Jesus said: Someone touched Me, for I felt the power issuing from Me. 47 The woman, seeing that she had not hidden herself, approached with trembling and, falling before Him, announced to Him before all the people why she had touched Him and how she was immediately healed.

48 He said to her: dare, daughter! your faith has saved you; go in peace.

49 While he was still saying this, someone from the house of the ruler of the synagogue came and said to him: Your daughter is dead; do not bother the Teacher.

50 But Jesus, hearing this, said to him: Do not be afraid, only believe, and she will be saved. 51 And when he came into the house, he did not allow anyone to enter except Peter, John and James, and the girl's father and mother. 52 Everyone wept and wept for her. But He said: Don't weep; she is not dead, but she is sleeping. 53 And they laughed at Him, knowing that she was dead.

54 But he sent everyone out and took her by the hand and cried out, Maiden! get up. 55 And her spirit returned; she immediately got up, and He ordered to give her something to eat. 56 And her parents were surprised. He also commanded them not to tell anyone about what had happened.
