Simple do-it-yourself rakolovka. DIY rakolovka

Fans of beer with delicious boiled crayfish are unlikely to refuse to learn how do-it-yourself crayfish is made at home.

Moreover, the cost of this classic beer snack has never been small.

In addition, among experienced fishermen, the use of crustaceans is considered the most effective fishing option, since otherwise, in order to get a biting arthropod out of the hole, you will have to catch it by diving deep under water.

Usually the crayfish hunt takes place from June to November, and if you follow the tips below on how to make crayfish with your own hands, then this season you will have time to enjoy your favorite dish.

Below in the article, various types of crayfish will be considered.

Rakolovka from plastic bottles

The scheme according to which crayfish is made from a plastic bottle can be used both at home and in an emergency.

Just imagine yourself on vacation near a river in which crayfish are found. People catch buckets full, but you don't have crayfish and you have nothing to catch.

This is where the knowledge of how to make rakolovka from improvised means will come in handy.

For work you will need:

  • Plastic bottles (2 pcs of 5 l; 1 pc of 1.0 l).
  • 3 mm fishing line and awl;
  • Stationery knife.

We make blanks for rakolovka out of plastic bottles:

  • We make a cylinder from a 1.0 liter bottle, for this we cut off its neck and bottom. Plastic will be easier to cut if the knife blade is heated over a fire;
  • Next, we work with 5 liter containers. At the first, we cut off the bottom and the neck according to the same principle; for the second, we cut off the neck, but do not touch the bottom. In this case, the neck of the first bottle should be cut in such a way that the diameter obtained at the outlet corresponds to the diameter of a cylinder made from a liter bottle. In order not to be mistaken with the dimensions, you can make marks with a ready-made cylinder before cutting on the neck of a 5-liter container.

Putting the blanks together:

  • With the help of an awl from above, along the circumference, we make holes in the liter cylinder with an interval of 1.5 cm.In the process, you can put a wooden lath under the plastic;
  • Perform the same actions with other cut edges of the containers;
  • Using a piece of fishing line, alternately thread it through the holes between the 1 liter and 5 liter bottle. As a result, you should get that the place of the neck of the 5-liter container was taken by a firmly sewn cylinder;
  • To the resulting structure, to the cut edges of the large bottle, we sew the second five-liter bottle with fishing line;
  • We rip the edges of the liter cylinder and bend them inward, as a result of which the arthropod can fall into the trap, and the fluffed strips of plastic will not release it back;
  • Further, through the entire structure, using a knife, we make holes 1x1 cm, due to which the rakolovka will collect water and sink more easily;
  • We pass a long rope through the holes so that it enters from one side of the structure, but not through the liter cylinder, and exits from the other side. We tie the short edge of the rope to the long one.

That's it, the rakolovka is ready.

As you know, crayfish feed on carrion, therefore, just before catching them, a bait in the form of a piece of rotten meat is placed inside the crayfish.

Nylon mesh rakolovka - inkwell

You can make the following type of crayfish yourself using:

  • nylon fine mesh;
  • nylon thread;
  • nippers;
  • wire, with a thickness of 5 mm.

This design for crayfish is made in several stages, after which you can safely go to catch crayfish.

By the way, the bait is prepared for them in advance, but more on that later.

Step-by-step instructions for making rakolovka:

  • Make two wire rings. The first, the main one, should have a diameter of 35-60 cm; the second - for the upper part of the rakolovka structure, with a diameter of 15-20 cm;
  • Cover the main ring with a fine-mesh nylon mesh by winding it to the metal rim with a nylon thread. In this case, the thread must pass through the ring with an interval of at least 2 cm;
  • In the next step, prepare three pieces of wire that will be used as spacers. They will serve as a support for the main and small rings and at the same time maintain the shape of the structure. Without spacers, after being lowered into the water, the crayfish made by you will simply fold.
    The wire should have a length of 15-20 cm. At one end it is fixed to the main ring with the help of pliers, and by the other end to the small, upper one;
  • Pull the resulting structure, including the upper rim, with the edges of the mesh, go around the rim and the holes of the mesh with nylon thread. Attach a handle to the finished crustacean.

As a result, you get an open top crayfish. It is lowered to the bottom with a long rope.

Rolled metal mesh rakolovka

This type of cracking can be done by hand using a metal mesh. Such a product is much more durable and every professional angler has.

For work, you will need the following types of materials and tools:

  • metal mesh, roll 1 m wide;
  • fastening wire;
  • scissors for metal;
  • nylon threads, ruler;
  • protective gloves.

We create a rakolovka based on a metal mesh:

  • We take a piece of mesh 80 cm long. As a result, the material with which we have to work will receive parameters 80x100 cm;
  • We fold the mesh into a cylindrical shape so that most of it becomes high. Between each other, the edges of the mesh are fixed with wire;
  • Determine the size of the cylinder. Its diameter, as a rule, should correspond to 25 cm;
  • Now we cut out a semicircle from the same material (radius 25 cm). Set aside with a ruler, from the point of the radius, a segment of 5 cm, form a circle with a radius of 5 cm, cut out with scissors. As a result, you should get a cone with a cut off top. We fix its edges to each other, using a wire;
  • We install the cone with the pointed part inside the cylinder. The edges of the cone and the edges of the cylinder are also wired. On the other side of the rakolovka, the same cone with a truncated top is installed;
  • Then we will make a hole through which it will be possible to put bait into the crayfish and, accordingly, get the prey. In the center of the metal cylinder, mark a rectangle 15 by 20 cm, bite the wire with wire cutters on three sides. It turns out a kind of door. After the bait is put into the rakolovka, the door is fixed in the incised places with wire;
  • Finally, we tie a long rope around the edges of the crayfish. Now you can go catching crayfish.

What should be the bait for crayfish

Before you go to catch crayfish, you need to know more about what smell the bait should have, since it is he who serves as the key to a large catch.

Oddly enough, in addition to rotten meat, crayfish willingly go for rye bread with garlic.

Unpeeled garlic is pre-crushed and pressed into the crumb, and so that the bait does not sag longer, it is placed in a nylon stocking.

You can also twist the bread with garlic in a meat grinder, and distribute the resulting mixture in portions in gauze bags.

Crayfish have an unusually strong sense of smell, and they love the smell of garlic too much, so you can put more of it.

Some crayfish refute the information that the bait in the form of rotten meat or fish is the most effective. On the contrary, it is good to catch crayfish with fresh food, cut into pieces in advance.

If you plan to fish for prey, it is recommended to use roach or bream as bait.

In spring, fish caught with their own hands or bought frozen are used as bait. These can be gobies, roach, crucian carp.

As mentioned above, fish carcasses are cut.

Summer groundbait can be animal meat. During the heatwave, crayfish willingly feast on the stomach, part of the head or liver. This bait can be purchased on the market and cut into pieces.

In the fall, when the cooling period begins, bread with garlic is put into the crayfish.

How to install and when to test crayfish

Traps for crayfish can be set both from the shore and from a boat. The second option is most often used if the approach to the reservoir is heavily overgrown with reeds and, of course, a boat is available.

In order not to lose orientation with respect to the established rakolovka, in that place on the surface of the water, a non-sinking object is tied to the rope of the trap.

Foam plastic or the like can be used as a float for rakolovka.

Placing a crustacean from the shore, they are stocked with a stag - a long horned stick. The rope of the crayfish clings to the spear, the stick is exposed from the shore, after which the signal rope descends, and the crayfish lies on the bottom of the reservoir.

This is done to prevent the prey from eating all the bait. In addition, arthropods can be attracted by a kindled fire; it is good to place traps along the line of its reflection in the water.

In addition, at night, crayfish come to the shore of the reservoir, so they can be easily collected using a flashlight.

Crayfish boiled in salted water with spices is an excellent snack for a frothy drink. But many beer lovers are just lazy or don't know how to catch them. This is partly due to the fact that there is no fishing gear - rachevnya, or crayfish.

In this article we will tell you how to make a do-it-yourself rakolovka and how best to attach the bait in it. We will also briefly give examples of baits for catching crayfish and indicate for setting traps.

Types of crayfish

Rakolovki are open and closed, both of which can be made at home. Here is a short list of the different designs:

  • plastic bottle trap;
  • screen;
  • inkwell;
  • top;
  • umbrella.

We will describe the manufacture of some of these racheni in this article.

From the bottle

The easiest and fastest version of homemade crustaceans can be easily made from such a popular material of all our homemade people as a plastic bottle. To make a trap, we need:

  • plastic bottle for five liters;
  • soft wire or thick line;
  • rope;
  • cargo;
  • awl;
  • knife and scissors.

We give a description of how to make a crayfish trap, having the above materials and tools:

  1. Cut off the upper part with the neck from the plastic bottle.
  2. Cut off the neck itself so that you get a hole in which the cancer can crawl through.
  3. We turn the upper part over and insert it into the lower half with the tapering end inward, so it is easy for the cancer to get inside, but then it is difficult to get out of the trap.
  4. We connect the two halves. You can knit them together using a fishing line or wire threaded through the holes made with an awl.
  5. In the main part of the bottle, we make large holes for air release.
  6. We attach some kind of weight to the bottom to prevent the trap from floating up.
  7. From the inside to the bottom we knit a loop for attaching the bait.
  8. We tie a rope to the junction of the parts of the trap.

On the pond, you need to untie the wire connecting the two parts of the crayfish and strengthen the bait. Then again you need to tie both halves. After that, holding the homemade trap by the rope, we throw the trap into the selected place of the reservoir. We fix the plant on the bank with a cord to a hammered peg or a growing bush or tree.

Top-shaped

This design resembles the previous model by the way the crayfish enter it through a tapering cone. It is best made from a fine-mesh metal mesh. Let's describe how to make this type of crayfish:

  1. Cut off a strip of mesh approximately one meter wide. The length of this piece can be from one and a half to two and a half meters, a longer trap will be difficult to throw and pull out.
  2. We fold the strip into a cylinder, the diameter of its base will be about thirty centimeters.
  3. We tie the edges of the strip together with a knitting wire or weld.
  4. From the same mesh we form two conical entrances.
  5. We fasten them with the narrow side to the base of the cylinder using a wire.
  6. We tie the narrow ends of the cones together inside the trap with three wire ties.
  7. We tie ropes to one or both ends.

The bait is laid in the trap, then the top on the crayfish is thrown or brought into the water, depending on its size. You do not need to load it, as the metal mesh holds perfectly at the bottom.

Screen

Screens are called traps such as lifts with a mesh stretched over a metal frame. They are also easy to make at home. For this we need:

  • strong elastic steel wire with a diameter of 4-6 millimeters;
  • mesh with small cells;
  • cord.

To make a rakolovka from this, you need to proceed as follows:

  1. We bend the wire into a circle with a diameter of about fifty centimeters. To do this, we need a piece 1.5-1.6 meters long.
  2. We weld the ends of the wire or tie it with a knitting wire.
  3. Pull the mesh onto the resulting hoop. The tension should not be tight so that the net sags a little in the center.
  4. We tie four laces of the same length to the hoop, the lengths should be about 40-50 centimeters.
  5. Tie the other ends of the laces together.
  6. We attach a rope to the common knot.

On the pond, we tie the rope to a long strong pole. We put a load in the middle of the screen and tie a bait placed in a bag made of rare fabric. This could be:

  • tulle;
  • gauze;
  • women's tights, maybe not new.

We put the crayfish in the water and wait for the crayfish. You need to check this trap every 20-30 minutes. We pull out the crayfish vertically, while the load helps to pull the bottom, preventing the prey from quickly leaving the farm.

Inkwell

If you slightly improve the previous trap, then you can make an ink bottle rakolovka. It got this name because of the resemblance to the non-spill inkwell, which was used by Soviet schoolchildren when writing with a fountain pen.

For modernization, we need to bend another ring using a piece of wire one meter long. It is easy to calculate that the diameter of the small ring will be about thirty centimeters. Then we do this:

  1. We take the bottom with a mesh stretched over it from the previous structure.
  2. We connect the bottom with the ring using three or four knitting needles, 20-30 centimeters high. Welding electrodes are perfect for this. The result is a structure in the form of a wire truncated cone.
  3. Pull the mesh onto the sides of the cone.
  4. We tie the laces to the small upper ring, they can be fastened to the bottom, and simply overlap through the small hoop.
  5. We connect the laces together and tie a rope to them.

On the pond, we equip the inkwell in the same way as the screen. But thanks to the high sides, it is difficult for crayfish to get out of it, so you can leave such a trap without pulling it out for a much longer period, from two to six hours.

Application

Regardless of the design, the same type of bait is used in all crayfish. To attract crayfish into a trap, the following baits are used:

  • fish cutting;
  • fresh fish;
  • chicken and rabbit offal;
  • pets liver;
  • bread with garlic or dill.

On steep, washed-out shores. It is desirable that the bottom in this place be clayey or bordering on stones. It is in this soil that crayfish make their burrows.

Crayfish traps

Everyone loves crayfish and many in childhood probably tried to catch them. In addition to special traps sold in fishing stores, you can use it yourself, at home from scrap materials.

How to make crayfish at home?

There are many different traps, but the most popular are two. This is a crayfish in the form of a cone and a yater.

The first variant of crayfish

To begin with, it is worth preparing materials, you will need:

  1. metal mesh with fine meshes (approximately 8mm-2cm);
  2. wire; pliers;
  3. nippers;
  4. roulette;
  5. net.

We measure the grid of about 80 cm-meter and cut it with metal scissors. We twist a piece of mesh with a tube, and fasten the ends together to form a "pipe".

Now we measure the wire of the required length and fasten the ends of the mesh to it along the edges, cut off the remaining teeth.

We measure the formed circle in the pipe and use a marker to mark the grid. Cut out with scissors, and squeeze the resulting circle in the center to form a cone from the circle. And we fasten it according to the same principle as the tube, with the help of a wire, and cut off the excess.

Now you need to fasten the two resulting blanks - a cone and a cylinder, also along the edge with wire.

There should be a hole in the middle of the cone through which the crayfish will climb to the bait, it should be wide enough to enter, but not too large to exit.

The advantage of this type of crayfish is that it is more durable than the rest and crayfish cannot damage it. But a significant drawback - it takes up a lot of space, which means it is inconvenient for transportation.

Second option

Materials:

  1. Two circles made of wire;
  2. Fine mesh nylon mesh,
  3. Strong threads;
  4. Pliers;
  5. Roulette.

To begin with, two hoops are covered with a net. One should be slightly smaller in diameter than the other.

After wrapping, you should tackle the sides of the trap - they should be fastened from a mesh with a large mesh diameter so that the crayfish can get there.

After fastening the side of the mesh with two rings - with a smaller diameter will be at the top - a thread is attached to the top in several places.

Optimally 5-7 mounts. And already by the upper threads the trap with crayfish will rise from the water.

The advantage of such rakolovka will be that due to the absence of a wire attachment, it will fold and take up little space.

Types of crayfish:

  • Bottle rakolovka. The easiest way is when there is no net or trap at hand, and you can't catch it with your hands.
  • Merezhi. The device is more perfect than traps. Cancer can easily enter, but in no way will be able to get out of there. There are several types: standing hemlines (the neckline is at the top), recumbent hemlines (the neckline can be on both sides).
  • Cone rakolovka. There is an opening for the entry of crayfish.
  • In the form of a yater.
  • Rakolovka is an umbrella.
  • Round.

In addition to crayfish, you can also fish with a fishing rod, both homemade from a rod and thread with a hook, and with professional tackle. The downside is the ability to catch only one crayfish at a time.

With this method, you can use anything as bait, for example: worms, corn, bread, rotten fish and meat. Hand fishing is widespread and suitable for areas with a large number of crayfish.

Fishing with nets is used.

How to make crayfish rings?

Materials required: two pieces of wire, one longer than the other (for example: 80cm and 95cm); nippers; ruler; marker.

To round the wire, bend it around a bucket or pot if it is soft.

When using a harder metal or wire with a large thickness, you can bend it using a hammer, gradually giving it a rounded shape to speed up the process, the wire can be preheated.

Then, the ends of the two wires are bent in different directions and small notches are made on them, which are then fastened with a copper wire.

The wire should be wound in two rows to prevent unwinding and loosening of the bond. The ends of the winding are twisted together and bent or soldered, for strong fixation.

If possible, then you can do without a copper wire by fastening the ends of the wire over a gas torch or using a soldering iron.

How to sew the net to the crayfish board?

We measure with a tape measure or a ruler the diameter of the resulting ring. Then we apply a marker on the straightened measurement grid, outlining a circle. We cut it out. When calculating the diameter of the circle, remember that a few centimeters must be added for the gap.

Then a strong thread is taken, for example nylon, and the mesh is sewn with a large needle (with a wide eye of the needle). It is advisable to make several windings, and after a few stitches, fix the thread with a knot.

For strength, you can make 2-3 circles of piercing, then the probability of rupture becomes less.

In order for the mesh not to slip when sewing it, you need to attach it and make a few stitches around the entire perimeter - then it will be fixed and it will be easier to sew.

How to catch more fish?

I have been active fishing for quite some time now and have found many ways to improve my bite. And here are the most effective ones:
  1. ... Attracts fish in cold and warm water with the help of pheromones and stimulates their appetite. It is a pity that Rosprirodnadzor wants to ban its sale.
  2. More sensitive gear. You can find reviews and instructions for other types of gear on the pages of my website.
  3. Pheromone baits.
You can get the rest of the secrets of successful fishing for free by reading my other materials on the site.

How to make a cone-shaped crayfish?

You will need two mesh-covered hoops, as described above. Then the rings are covered with a mesh on the side, so that they are fixed, they are fastened with several cuts of wire or special spacers (at least three).

The small ring should be fixed above the large one, at a distance of 15-20 cm. When fastening, it is necessary to monitor the symmetry of the entire structure so that nothing will slip.

As a result, a free circle remains at the top, where the cancer can climb on its own, but it will be impossible to get out.

The advantage over the yater is that it breaks and gets confused much less often.

How to make rakolovka from plastic bottles?

Materials:

  1. 4-8 bottles of rectangular shape. Best suited for bottled water. Bottles should be 5-6L.
  2. Scissors or knife. For cutting off the neck.
  3. Wire for fastening the structure.

Wash the bottles with water and cut off the neck and neck before narrowing, then insert it into the bottle with a funnel down. Along the perimeter, the structure is fastened with wire so that the funnel does not fall out.

Then the bottles are fastened together with a wire to form a single trap.

In the first, a large number of slots are made, they are needed to quickly fill the bottle with water, and, therefore, quickly immerse it in water.

A load, such as a stone, is attached to the last in the chain.

If several traps are made in different places, then the bottles are not fastened with a wire to each other, a hole is made in each of them and the load is suspended.

The whole structure is lowered into the water. The neck is cut off so that a large crayfish cannot get inside to the bait.

This is the easiest and cheapest way to create traps, and will work if there are no materials nearby.

But the disadvantage is that the crayfish can get out of the trap quite easily, and also the fact that a large amount of prey will not fit inside the bottle, it is designed for two or three crayfish maximum.

A rakolovka in the form of a yater

Materials:

  1. Strong wire for rings or pre-made rings.
  2. Small mesh (1-3 cm).
  3. Fixation thread (nylon or nylon).
  4. Pliers for cutting mesh and wire.
  5. Ruler or tape measure.
  6. Marker for notes.

First, we make circles out of wire and cover them with a mesh. The circles should be of the same diameter, they are made about 5. Then, at the same distance from each other, they are fitted with nets, with exact observance of symmetry.

The diameter of the circles is measured and with a small addition (about 7-10 cm) is measured on the grid. Two circles are cut and cones are formed from them. There should be a small hole in the middle for the cancer to get inside the trap.

The resulting cones are sewn with a thread on both sides of the pipe formed by rings and a mesh. Firmly fixed. The trap is ready to use.

The advantage of such a trap is its spaciousness and less likelihood that prey will be able to get out into the wild.

Just like a cone-shaped rakolovka, this one can fold if it is made of fabric mesh rather than wire mesh. This will ensure its ease of storage and the ability to put even in a backpack.

It is very easy to make from scrap materials both at home and at the place of direct fishing for crayfish. Self-made traps can be of exactly the size that suits you best.

There is also a significant plus in the absence of cash costs and the need to search for the desired design in fishing shops.

Catching crayfish- the lesson is simple. It is enough to have rakolovka (rachevka), which can be easily made do it yourself... The simplest and most widespread construction of rakolovka is a ring made of steel wire with a diameter of 40-50 cm covered with a net. The disadvantage of such rakolovka is that it must be checked every 25-40 minutes. since the crayfish, having eaten, can easily leave it.

The rakolovka, the manufacture of which is described below, can be left overnight, since 90% of the crayfish that have fallen into this rache will have a hard time getting back.

To make crayfish with our own hands, we need:
- fine mesh;
- wire with a diameter of 4-6mm .;
- plastic clamps;
- nylon thread.

First of all, we make two metal rings. Bottom ring with a diameter of 40-50 cm, and the upper ring with a diameter of 15-20 cm.

We grab the mesh to the ring with plastic clamps every 5-7 cm. Instead of plastic clamps, you can use a nylon thread.

We make three spacers, from wire of a smaller diameter, for these purposes I used electrodes d 3mm. Spacers should be made of equal length and in such a way that the ring of the smaller diameter is centered at a height of 12-18 cm.

So that the rakolovka, for ease of transportation, can be folded, one of the three spacers is made removable. The other two are fixed on the rings.

After the spacers are installed, we tighten the sidewalls of the rakolovka. And we grab it with clamps on the upper ring.

We fasten the clamps on the upper ring of the rakolovka with a pitch of 10-15 mm. Then we cut off the excess and the rakolovka is ready for use. Now you can safely throw the crayfish into the water and harvest the harvest in the morning with peace of mind :)

Finally, I want to note that the bait should be tied to the bottom of the crayfish. It is best to use fresh fish, and not rotten, as many believe. Experienced crayfish also put a little dill with bait and, in a mesh bag, a piece of cake and a slice of rye bread, the crust of which is rubbed with garlic.

Boiled crayfish is undoubtedly delicious, and for some people it is a real delicacy. As often happens, a person gets pleasure not only from the food itself, but also from the cooking process, looking for a variety of recipes and conducting culinary experiments.

A similar situation is with the crayfish catching itself, within which not only a good catch, but also the preparation itself, the creation of ingenious crayfish fish, and the search for promising places pleases.

In this article, we will tell you how to make crayfish with your own hands, where and when it is better to fish, what baits to use.

  • conical;
  • round;
  • in the form of a yater;
  • rakolovka "umbrella";
  • from the bottle.

This trap is very easy to make. You will need a regular plastic bottle with a large volume (for example, 6 liters). In the absence of such, you can use more running containers of 2-3 liters.

  1. First you need to cut off the neck where the bottle starts to taper. So that a large cancer can fall into the trap, it is better to cut off the plastic rim in the neck.
  2. Then we make small holes in the main part, which will allow the air to escape faster and ensure the rapid submersion of the crustacean to the bottom of the reservoir.
  3. Insert the cut-off neck into the bottle with the back side and fix it with a fishing line.
  4. In the bottom of the bottle we make a couple of holes through which we wind a wire to fix the bait.
  5. At the final stage, we make another hole and push a rope through it, which will allow you to conveniently get the crayfish.

Manufacturing of rakolovka "Cone" (part 2)

How crayfish get into the crayfish (video)

Rakolovka "cone"

To make crayfish with our own hands, we need:

  • mesh with small cells;
  • wire (diameter 4-6 mm);
  • nylon thread;
  • plastic clamps.

Cone cone manufacturing process

  1. First, we make two metal rings of different diameters: the lower one is 40-50 cm, the upper one is 15-20 cm.
  2. Then we attach the mesh to the lower ring using clamps or nylon thread (along the entire ring every 5-6 cm).
  3. Next, we prepare three wire spacers of the same length. The diameter of the wire used for them must be less than the diameter of the ring wire.
  4. The spacers should allow the top ring to be positioned 14-18 cm from the bottom ring. For more convenient transportation of such a device, one of the spacers can be made removable.
  5. After installing the spacers, we wrap the sides of the trap with a mesh, then attach the mesh to the upper ring, keeping the distance between the clamps of 10-15 mm.
  6. Cut off the excess part of the mesh and get an excellent rakolovka.

The design of this type of rakolovka is also not particularly complex. It consists of two identical rings covered with mesh.

Spacers are not used, therefore, when the trap is lowered to the bottom, it folds, and crayfish easily get to the bait. Due to this feature, a fairly frequent check is required (every 15-30 minutes).

When you pull the round crayfish out of the water, the top ring lifts up and prevents the crayfish from escaping.

  1. We make two rings of wire with a diameter of about 50-60 cm.
  2. We string the mesh onto the lower ring, leaving 15 cm of the canvas for attaching to the second ring.
  3. With the help of kapronki we tie the mesh to the upper ring (with the mesh stretched, the distance between the rings should be 12-14 cm).
  4. Next, we tie three identical pieces of nylon thread to the upper ring and connect them.
  5. We fasten the rope, with the help of which we will further raise and check the rakolovka.

Crayfish baits

  • fresh or rotten fish;
  • spoiled meat;
  • liver;
  • shellfish;
  • chicken wings;
  • spoiled cabbage;
  • melon;
  • bread with garlic.

Most often, the coastal areas of the reservoir are heavily overgrown with reeds, which does not allow you to freely approach the water. For this reason, it is more convenient to place rakolovki from a boat.

In order not to lose the rakolovka, a foam float is tied to the upper end of the rope.

Installing crustaceans from the shore

From the shore, the crayfish can be placed as follows: we find a long stick with a slingshot at the end, take it in one hand, and the cord in the other. Then we hook up the rakolovka with a slingshot and carefully lower it into the water, in parallel, releasing the cord. We tie the end of the cord to an accessible fixator (reeds, a stick stuck into the ground, a tree branch).

When choosing a place for fishing, you need to know one nuance - crayfish live in clean water bodies, where the water is not too polluted and there is an adequate supply of oxygen. In this regard, preference is given to fishing in the rivers.

The depth at which the crayfish are sewn can vary. In some cases, it is some 50 cm, and in others it reaches 2-4 m. Most of all, crayfish love a rocky bottom, because it implies the presence of many shelters.

In the clay soil, crayfish dig small but long burrows under the banks. Do not look for crayfish in shallow areas with a hard sandy bottom.

The best time of day to catch crayfish is at night, especially from 22:00 to 3:00 hours. Fishing is often effective in the early morning.

Crayfish caught between late August and mid-October are considered especially tasty. It was at this time that they show high activity, and it is often large specimens that come across. But it must be remembered that different territories have their own, clear deadlines that provide for the legal catch of crayfish.

Important! Crayfish catching is not allowed everywhere; there is also a certain time frame for amateur catching of crayfish on water bodies. In any case, know when to stop, let the crayfish breed and delight with their catch in the future. Take it responsibly!

Most people consider boiled crayfish to be a delicacy. As a rule, many people get aesthetic pleasure not only from the meal itself, but also from cooking, searching for all kinds of recipes and experimenting with standard sets of products, coming up with extraordinary dishes.

By the same principle, most people enjoy not only a good catch, but also from the very preparation for this process, as well as from creating intricate crayfish and finding a suitable place to catch these creatures. In this publication, we will tell you how to make a crayfish fish with your own hands correctly, in what places, and at what time you should catch crayfish and how best to "feed" them.

Today there are several types of traps:

  • cone-shaped;
  • circular;
  • from a plastic bottle.

Catching crayfish in a plastic bottle

It is very simple to make this type of crayfish. To do this, you need to take a 10-liter plastic bottle (if there is none, then a five or three liter bottle will do). In general, we take the bottle that you have, but remember - the larger the container, the larger the catch and the size of the crayfish themselves.

The algorithm for making such a rakolovka looks like this:

  1. Cut off the neck of the bottle at the point where it begins to taper. In order for larger individuals to get into the crayfish, it is also necessary to get rid of the plastic rim on the neck.
  2. Now you need to make 10 small holes across the entire surface of the bottle, so that the bottle will sink much faster to the bottom of the reservoir.
  3. Next, turn the neck over and insert it with a narrow hole inside the container. To keep it better, we fix it using fishing line.
  4. In the bottom of the bottle, it is necessary to make several more small holes through which you can wind the wire and fix the bait on it.
  5. We make another hole through which you need to stretch a strong rope, thanks to which it is possible to conveniently transport the trap from the bottom of the reservoir.

You can make rakolovka for several inlets by cutting off the bottom of the container and insert the neck from another bottle into it. And move the transport hole to the main part of the tank.

Cone-shaped rakolovka

To make such a trap, we need: a net with small cells, wire Ø0.5 cm, a skein of nylon threads, plastic clamps.

Algorithm for making a cone rakolovka:

  1. First, you need to make two rings of wire: one - Ø50 cm, the other - Ø20 cm.
  2. We attach the net to the large ring using clamps or a nylon thread for this (you need to fix the net every 50 mm).
  3. We make three spacers from the wire, 15 cm long.
  4. We install spacers at an equidistant distance from each other. To facilitate transportation of this crayfish trap, one spacer can be detachable.
  5. Now we wrap the sides with a net and fix it every 10 - 15 mm on a smaller ring.
  6. Using scissors, we get rid of the excess mesh.
  7. In order to avoid difficulties with transporting the catch from the bottom of the reservoir, it is necessary to tie a rope on a ring of smaller diameter.

What is the best thing to put in a crayfish trap?

As soon as they do not experiment with crayfish, to collect the maximum catch from the chosen place.

As shown by statistics, the most popular baits are:

  • pork and beef liver;
  • fish, both fresh and rotten;
  • various kinds of molluscs;
  • rancid meat;
  • white, red rotten cabbage;
  • chicken legs and wings;
  • melons and gourds;
  • dried bread wiped with garlic.

How to set up crayfish traps?

To collect the maximum catch, you need to learn how to place crayfish correctly. As a rule, in the areas of water bodies near the coast, a large number of reeds grow, where a lot of crayfish are found.

Therefore, you can get to this place with the help of a boat. If you do not have the opportunity to set a trap from a boat, then do not worry, with the help of a long branched stick you can set it even from the shore.

In order not to lose sight of your crayfish trap, it is recommended to tie a float to the end of the transport rope, which can be used as a piece of foam.

Where and when is it better to "hunt" for crayfish?

Before you go fishing for crayfish, you need to know that these creatures prefer to live in clean waters, where the water is not subject to strong pollution. Also, an important aspect of the existence of crayfish is the supply of oxygen. By virtue of this, we can conclude that crayfish live, most often, in rivers, and therefore it is necessary to catch them in such reservoirs.

Now let's talk about the place where these creatures live. Most crustaceans prefer a rocky bottom, as it is very easy to find shelter in it.

If the river assumes clay soil, then in it the crayfish dig out small but long passages under the banks. It follows from this that it is not worth looking for crayfish in shallow areas with a hard sandy bottom.

As for the time of catching these creatures, the most favorable time period is from 22-00 to 03-00. Some fishermen note the fact that from late August to mid-October, crayfish meat becomes more delicious.

We wish you a good catch!

Let's consider how to make a new model of rakolovka from a metal mesh with our own hands. Its construction is very simple, although it is not so easy to carry due to its natural volumetric shape. A way out of the situation may be such an option when you take a roll of mesh with you on a hike, and all the work on creating ready-to-cast traps takes place right on the spot, on the shore of the reservoir. By the way, crayfish love clean running water in reservoirs.

What is needed for rakolovka.

We need a metal mesh with a mesh of at least 25 mm. Pliers or pliers, wire cutters, metal wire, metal scissors, a marker, nylon thread to tie the trap and throw it away from the shore, and a tape measure.

Progress.

We have to measure 80 cm. It turns out that the width of the crayfish is 60 cm and the length is 80 cm. Now we need to cut it out with metal scissors, the rest of the roll is no longer needed, so we put it aside.

Next, we will roll the workpiece into a tube. Using a mesh structure and additional wire, connect the edges of the roll. The distance between the twists is approximately 5 cm. Use a soft wire, it is comfortable to work with, and the shape of the mesh will be held by its material.

Now we need to make one more element of our trap. This will be the end piece for the resulting cylinder, so we will measure its diameter from one side. As you can see, this figure is 25 cm. We measure this size on another sheet of the grid and put a mark at 25 cm. We should get a semicircular workpiece.

We put a semicircle on the floor, measure 5 cm from the middle of it and draw another, but small semicircle. This will be the channel for the crayfish to pass through the entrance of the trap. Cut off this small semicircle with metal scissors again. The size of this hole depends on the size of the crayfish that are found in the reservoir. It can be larger, respectively. By connecting, we get a kind of funnel or watering can.

Assembling the structure of the rakolovka.

First, let's check if the sizes are the same? In our case, everything goes well. Therefore, you can tie the funnel and wire it to the cylindrical body. One side of the crayfish is ready, you just need to do the same procedure on the other side.

When both sides are equipped with funnels, you can proceed to the final part. We need to make a small window from which we get the crayfish, and put the groundbait. We draw a square and cut it out with pliers.

What lures can you use to catch crayfish? It can be any fish, rotten meat, and more. Cancers come by smell.

Now about the lock for the trap. Here you just need a piece of wire, with which we twist the window after laying the bait. The thread for the trap does not need to be too thick, as it is very light. A nylon string is attached to both ends. We tie another thread to the middle, which will lie on the shore.

Cancers enter through one of the ends, and are directed towards the smell of carrion. For them there is no way out of their trap, although some possibility exists, but it is very small.

We throw the rakolovka at a distance of 1.5-2 meters from the shore. It is better to throw a trap near rocks, as crayfish like rocky or clay banks, because in such places they make nests. We leave the trap for several hours, while taking into account that they are best caught in cloudy weather and at night.

So, the trap is ready. In the last part of the video, it is tested for effectiveness. Only one small fish was caught, but this does not mean that the device is not catchy, since it is not possible to catch crayfish in all bodies of water and at any time.

  • 3 mm fishing line and awl;
  • Stationery knife.

We make blanks for rakolovka out of plastic bottles:

  • We make a cylinder from a 1.0 liter bottle, for this we cut off its neck and bottom. Plastic will be easier to cut if the knife blade is heated over a fire;

  • With the help of an awl from above, along the circumference, we make holes in the liter cylinder with an interval of 1.5 cm.In the process, you can put a wooden lath under the plastic;
  • Perform the same actions with other cut edges of the containers;
  • Using a piece of fishing line, alternately thread it through the holes between the 1 liter and 5 liter bottle. As a result, you should get that the place of the neck of the 5-liter container was taken by a firmly sewn cylinder;
  • To the resulting structure, to the cut edges of the large bottle, we sew the second five-liter bottle with fishing line;
  • We rip the edges of the liter cylinder and bend them inward, as a result of which the arthropod can fall into the trap, and the fluffed strips of plastic will not release it back;
  • Further, through the entire structure, using a knife, we make holes 1x1 cm, due to which the rakolovka will collect water and sink more easily;

  • nylon fine mesh;
  • nylon thread;
  • nippers;
  • wire, with a thickness of 5 mm.

This design for crayfish is made in several stages, after which you can safely go to catch crayfish.

By the way, the bait is prepared for them in advance, but more on that later.

Step-by-step instructions for making rakolovka:

  • Make two wire rings. The first, the main one, should have a diameter of 35-60 cm; the second - for the upper part of the rakolovka structure, with a diameter of 15-20 cm;
  • Cover the main ring with a fine-mesh nylon mesh by winding it to the metal rim with a nylon thread. In this case, the thread must pass through the ring with an interval of at least 2 cm;
  • In the next step, prepare three pieces of wire that will be used as spacers. They will serve as a support for the main and small rings and at the same time maintain the shape of the structure. Without spacers, after being lowered into the water, the crayfish made by you will simply fold.
    The wire should have a length of 15-20 cm. At one end it is fixed to the main ring with the help of pliers, and by the other end to the small, upper one;

  • metal mesh, roll 1 m wide;
  • fastening wire;
  • scissors for metal;
  • nylon threads, ruler;
  • protective gloves.

We create a rakolovka based on a metal mesh:

  • We take a piece of mesh 80 cm long. As a result, the material with which we have to work will receive parameters 80x100 cm;
  • We fold the mesh into a cylindrical shape so that most of it becomes high. Between each other, the edges of the mesh are fixed with wire;
  • Determine the size of the cylinder. Its diameter, as a rule, should correspond to 25 cm;
  • Now we cut out a semicircle from the same material (radius 25 cm). Set aside with a ruler, from the point of the radius, a segment of 5 cm, form a circle with a radius of 5 cm, cut out with scissors. As a result, you should get a cone with a cut off top. We fix its edges to each other, using a wire;
  • We install the cone with the pointed part inside the cylinder. The edges of the cone and the edges of the cylinder are also wired. On the other side of the rakolovka, the same cone with a truncated top is installed;
  • Then we will make a hole through which it will be possible to put bait into the crayfish and, accordingly, get the prey. In the center of the metal cylinder, mark a rectangle 15 by 20 cm, bite the wire with wire cutters on three sides. It turns out a kind of door. After the bait is put into the rakolovka, the door is fixed in the incised places with wire;

For the meat of predatory fish - pike and perch - cancer, for some reason, is reluctant. The fish is cut in advance along the ridge, the meat is turned inside out to enhance the smell.

According to experts in crayfish breeding, crayfish found in certain water bodies have their own diet. Therefore, their preference for different baits is determined by the method of tests.

For this, crayfish, in which baits of different types are placed, are placed with an interval of 15-20 m from each other. After that, it becomes clear what food is best for catching arthropods.

Using the same test method, it was found out which food attracts crayfish at different times of the year.
