How to make a pendant with your own hands, master class. DIY pendant: your own creativity on a chain How to make a pendant with your own hands: tools

The mosaic pendant is made using the wire technique. The main highlight of this pendant is its multi-colored pendants of all sizes and shapes. It is convenient to make this pendant from leftover materials, since its center can consist of beads of different colors. It will take about an hour to create such a pendant.

Required materials:

160 mm thick wire,
800 mm thin wire,
13 ceramic beads (4 mm in diameter),
5 beads with a diameter of 8 mm,
13 different medium sized shapes,
Tools: round nose pliers, pliers, wire cutters.

Step-by-step description of the work:

1. Using pliers, make a right angle at a distance of 3 cm from the end of the thick wire. Then use the pliers to bend the wire to make a loop and wrap the rest of the wire around the base.

2. Bend the remaining piece of wire from the loop by 45°, while moving about 2 mm away from it. This area will later be wrapped with thick wire.

3. Now let's move directly to the outlines. Bend the wire so that you get an oval, tapering at the top - something like a tear. Be sure to leave about 10mm of wire to secure it to the base of the loop. It is better to use pliers for this. Wrap the ponytail left in advance in step No. 2 around the 2-mm section. As a result, the end of this segment should meet the end of the wire twisted into a loop. Don't worry if the two wires don't meet perfectly as they will be hidden later.

4. Cut the thin wire to the required length. Wrap approximately 50mm of thick wire between the loop and the top of the pendant. Using pliers, thread the wire under the existing turns so that it does not unwind in the future. But don't overdo it - leave a little space to secure another tail of wire at the end of the work.

5. Insert the smallest bead at the top of the pendant. Wrap a thin wire two or three times around the frame and thread it through the bead so that it holds firmly inside the pendant. Make sure that the wire is well tensioned.

6. For the second row, string one large bead, one 4mm bead and one medium sized bead. Choose beads that differ in material (glass or ceramic), shape (round or diamond-shaped) and shades. At the end of the row, wrap the wire around the frame, as was done in step five. Don't worry if there are "holes" between the beads, you can always come back and fill in those spaces later.

7. String one small bead to fill the empty space in the corner of the pendant. Wrap the wire on the rod between the two beads in the second row, thereby holding them together.

8. Continue stringing beads inside the pendant in a similar pattern. At the same time, pull the wire tightly so that the middle of the pendant does not protrude. After you place the last bead in the middle of the pendant, wrap and secure the wire to the frame.

9. Wrap the remaining wire tail around the frame several times towards the top of the pendant. In this case, the turns should not be too close to each other.

10. Fasten the rest of the thin wire to the top of the pendant near the loop. Make sure this part is not too bulky. Secure the end of the wire tightly so that it does not unravel in the future.

Now the pendant is ready and you can attach it to any beaded necklace. It will also look great simply on a leather cord or an ordinary chain.

For real needlewomen, not even a piece of wire will go to waste in their household, especially if it is new. You can find many ways to apply it. In today's master class you will learn how to make a beautiful pendant with your own hands from any pebble you like and a few decimeters of thin wire. The thinner the wire, the more elegant the product will look.

Talisman medallion made of natural stone

Have you been on vacation at the seaside or in the mountains and found an attractive pebble from which you can make a pendant? Or you can buy a stone; very beautiful and very inexpensive natural stones are sold in jewelry stores and at stone exhibitions. Most often they do not have any fastening, they are simply polished. To secure such stones on a chain, you will need 10 minutes of time, pliers and thin metal wire.

We wrap the pebble with wire in any order, using round pliers to help. (In the photo this is an ordinary “tiger eye” from a souvenir store, which is worn “from the evil eye”). We make a loop on top and secure it. An exquisite neck pendant made of natural stone is ready.

You can complicate the product and make two hearts out of wire, as in this product from rose quartz, which is considered a love talisman. This pendant can be given as a gift for Valentine's Day.

Teenagers are very fond of the so-called “friendship pendants”, that is, paired medallions. It is believed that two paired things strive to unite, so their owners will be inseparable. The easiest way to make friendship pendants is from two identical stones.

Decorating at home like a mermaid from H2O

At home, you can make unique, very interesting jewelry if you make friends with beads, epoxy, wood, polymer clay, and leather. Having gained experience, you can independently make things at home that imitate well-known jewelry, such as the “Heart of the Ocean” pendant from the movie “Titanic.” This video will teach you how to make a pendant with your own hands, the same as the mermaid from the popular TV series H2O: Just add water.

Nowadays, it is becoming increasingly popular to do your own handicrafts. This is not surprising, since in stores it is often difficult to find the options that you want for yourself, but they can be made if you have imagination and accuracy. For example, you can make accessories in the form of pendants. Let's look at several ways.

Original from the newspaper

The materials that will be required to make a simple and unusual pendant are as follows:

  • Newspaper.
  • Glue and scissor.
  • Wooden skewer.
  • A napkin or piece of paper with a picture that will be visible on the decoration.
  • , putty.
  • and a little cotton wool.
  • Coffee.
  • Pencil.

Once you have decided on the materials to use, you can proceed directly to making the accessory yourself:

  • Cut a lot of strips from newspaper (it needs to be laid out, then folded and cut on the fold; the resulting pieces are folded and cut again along the fold). Next, you need to roll the tubes and secure them to the edge using glue.
  • When about ten tubes are ready, you can begin with the first stage of making the medallion. Take one and squeeze it so that the surface is flat. Glue is applied to it and rolled into a spiral. When the part is completely rolled up, glue the second one and twist the spiral again. This element will be the basis for the product.
  • For the loop on which the chain is hung, another tube strip is glued. Place a pen or pencil under it, then glue the tube in a circle to the base. The main thing is to remove the pencil in time so that it does not remain glued.
  • To ensure an even and durable coating, it is recommended to coat it with putty in several layers (each of them must dry).
  • Print the picture on paper - it will be visible on the decoration. For a stylish and original design, it is aged using a coffee drink for this purpose. You need to make strong coffee and apply it with a brush. If the image is not in color, color it with watercolor pencils or add color in another way, since even a bright picture will become faded when it is aged with coffee.
  • Cut out the image slightly larger than the final product. Remember, it is easier to remove unnecessary details than to add what is missing. Apply glue to the paper and attach it to the pendant, removing any excess pieces around the edge. You can simply tear them off; a little carelessness often looks original.
  • Cover the back of the medallion with the remaining drink, and then spread varnish over the entire surface to fix it.

This master class allows you to make a combined pendant from leather or beads. For example, newspaper material can be replaced with pieces of leather. They are used to form a decoration, then embroidered with beads. The main condition is the presence of imagination and a creative approach, suitable raw materials, and different models can be made.

Accessory with stone

For production you will need:

  • Tight thread.
  • Small stone.
  • Chain.
  • Glue gun.

You may also need pliers to secure the parts.

The pendant execution process is as follows:

  1. First, wrap a thin wire around the stone.
  2. Make a loop on top.
  3. Wrap the pebble approximately in half.
  4. Attach the loop as firmly as possible.
  5. Secure it with pliers.

If it seems that making beautiful jewelry on your own is difficult, in reality everything is different. Wonderful pendants are made from ordinary objects and improvised means, which can become a surprise for friends. Such ideas help you make a lot of beautiful decorations without spending a lot of money on them.

Good afternoon, dear craftswomen! Recently, handmade jewelry has become increasingly popular in the fashion industry, as they are distinguished by their originality and charm. And it’s not surprising, because sometimes you may not find the thing you want, moreover, it can always be done with imagination and skillful hands. For example, you can make incredible pendants of all kinds with your own hands.

In this article, the “Master of Handicrafts” will publish a master class on creating a pendant with your own hands. Author of the master class Evgenia Kolyapina.

How to make a pendant with your own hands

Good afternoon Today we will start creating the “Autumn Leaf” pendant with our own hands!

The pendant is made using the classic needle embroidery technique, using wicker elements and gimp embroidery techniques.
It is also worth noting that to create this pendant you will need some embroidery and beadwork skills: the stitches used in the work are: “back needle”, “arched”, “Ndebele” weaving.

So, in order to make a decoration with your own hands, we will need the following materials:
- handmade shibori ribbon in beautiful autumn shades;
- large sew-on glass bead of golden color;
- round glass beads of golden and red color, several crystal beads of different sizes to match the shibori ribbon;
- Japanese beads Miyuki, Toho, Delica No. 11 and 15 in green and red-brown shades;
- several Drops beads in green and brown;
- gimp of gray color;
- interlining
- cardboard
- golden leatherette
- glue
- needle for bead embroidery
-monofilament
- scissors
- metal accessories (bail for the pendant and chain with lock).

So, initially we need to take the base for embroidery - folded in four and ironed non-woven fabric. Now you need to draw with a pencil the outline of a leaf - the future decoration (photo 1). Next, you need to cut off a piece of shibori of the required size (half the area of our leaf). After that, we will start sewing it along the contour (photo 2). To do this, you need to place the shibori face down to the bottom of the outline and, using small stitches, sew it to the interlining using monofilament (photo 3). Then we lift the shibori sewn from the bottom and, turning the edges 1-2 millimeters, continue sewing it along the contour of the leaf with the same small, invisible stitches, laying out beautiful folds (photo 4).

After this, we sew a glass bead into the center of the leaf so that it covers part of the shibori cut (photo 5). Next, with beads No. 15, you need to sew along the contour of the entire sheet with a “back needle” seam, two beads at a time (photo 6). After that, we take the gimp, and carefully, so as not to accidentally stretch and spoil it, we cut off the required lengths and, passing inside the gimp with a needle, we sew along the contour of the veins of the future leaf (photo 7, 8).

Where we have an open, unstitched shibori section, we also sew on the gimp, having first turned the shibori a couple of millimeters inward. To ensure that the long vein does not lose its contour, we carefully fix it on top with monofilament in several places (photo 8).
Next, we proceed to fill the unoccupied space of the sheet with beads and seed beads. First we sew on the largest round beads, then we sew on the smaller beads (photo 9-11). And we fill all the remaining empty space with beads No. 15 and 11 in a chaotic order, trying to create a gradient effect (i.e. at the ends of the sheet you need to sew light green beads, which gradually turns into darker and larger beads to the center of the leaf ( photo 12-13).

Then, on the half of the leaf where the shibori is sewn, we also sew beads in several folds using a “back needle” stitch (photo 14). And this is where the main part of the work is completed.
Now let's turn our embroidery into a pendant. Closer to the outline, we cut out the blank with scissors (photo 15), prepare a cardboard backing (cut it 1-2 millimeters smaller than the leaf itself) (photo 16).

Then we glue the cardboard to the back of our future pendant (I used Momentclassic glue). After this, we glue the blank with cardboard to the leatherette and again cut out our leaf along the contour (photo 17). Next, we process the outline of the pendant with beads No. 15 using an arched stitch (photo 18-19). Now all that remains is to sew bead pendants, drop-shaped Drops beads and several beads No. 15 between them along this contour (photo 20).

The last thing left is to make and sew on the stem of the leaf. Using monofilament beads No. 15 using the “Ndebele for 4 beads” technique, we weave a piece 4 cm long (Diagram 1, photo 21) and sew it to the leaf.

Our pendant is ready! Just attach a bail to it and hang it on a chain of the length you need. Let's run to the mirror and admire!

I will be very glad if my master class helps someone when creating jewelry. Happy and fruitful creativity to everyone!

Also in our next lesson you will be able to make a beaded bracelet with your own hands.

Beautiful handmade pendants are a task that anyone can handle. We will talk about unique jewelry that you can make yourself from practically available materials. They can easily be found at home or in the nearest store.

Pendant made of beads and beads

For beginners, it is better to practice on plastic or wooden beads. The latter, if desired, can be painted in any suitable color, if they have not yet been varnished. In the future - artificial or ornamental stones (for example, pearls, agate), solid wood.

It depends on the manufacturer how even each bead in the bag will be. Cheap Chinese ones often come across beads that are crooked, beveled or too narrow for a needle.

It is suitable for training and single-color “filling”, creating a “casual” effect in the boho style, etc., but a multi-colored pattern may go astray. Therefore, patterns of two or more shades are best made from high-quality Czech, Japanese or similar beads.

Wire pendant

The most common in three variations: steel, golden and aged bronze. More expensive and more difficult to process are copper and semi- and precious metals. It is found in different thicknesses, ranging from approximately 0.02-0.04 mm.

For a multi-layer decoration with a large number of elements, it is better to have several wires of the same color of different thicknesses.

To work with the material, you will need tools that can be borrowed from men: pliers and round nose pliers, wire cutters. And also a ruler along with a sketch of the pendant.

Polymer clay pendant

It will appeal to everyone who once loved to sculpt and has not lost their skills. Those who have already forgotten or want to improve their skills will be saved and delighted by the huge number of instructions on how to make a pendant with your own hands on the Internet - on video or with photos. You can achieve very beautiful multi-layered or gradient transitions by correctly folding or crushing pieces of clay.

The uniqueness of the material lies in the fact that it can be used to mold incredibly realistic fruits, berries, desserts, flowers, any figures and even landmark buildings that will look great as beads for earrings, pendants, bracelets and brooches. To do this, a fastener is carefully stuck into the finished products, and then everything is baked in the oven according to the instructions.

You should carefully monitor the expiration date and observe the storage conditions; if the polymer clay is overused, it will become difficult to wrinkle and will crumble after heating.

Cold porcelain pendant

It is easy to prepare at home, so it is one of the cheapest materials for creativity. Unlike polymer clay, it is more plastic and homogeneous, hardens at room temperature within several days.

Cold porcelain is easily painted when cooked with food coloring or after hardening with acrylic paints. It produces very delicate and realistic flowers, especially if you use molds taken from real plants.

Epoxy resin pendant

It is often sold as two components: a resin and a hardener. They are mixed in strict proportions and poured into silicone and plastic molds or bases for pendants. After about 1-2 days, the coating finally hardens and becomes transparent.

Pin pendant

Ideal for brutal military-style accessories, but can look bright and unusual if decorated (with beads, bright yarn, etc.).

Pendant made of chains, braid, lace

They are useful for hanging a pendant around your neck by adjusting the desired length, and for decorating the pendant itself.

In addition to the materials listed, options and ideas for making a pendant can be very different; even old forks, shells, keys or pieces of glass ground by waves will do, if you put in the effort and imagination.
