Many users encounter error 0x800B010A, which occurs when trying to register on government procurement sites, as well as when using digital signatures to sign documents. This failure should not be confused with a similar code in Windows 7. Today we will briefly tell you how to fix this certificate chain problem.

Causes of certificate conflicts

Most often, a similar error appears on the website zakupki.mos.ru, but its appearance does not depend on the resource being visited, the problem is associated only with the incorrect use of digital signature keys and certificates. Among the main reasons it is worth highlighting:

  • expiration of the certificate used;
  • Absence of all root certificates in the hierarchy chain (from GCA to CA) - users often forget to add them all;
  • the need to update all nodes and CryptoPro software to the latest version.

The full problematic notification is as follows: “The certificate chain for the trusted root authority cannot be built. (0x800B010A)". There are also other descriptions - “Error calculating signature”, for example.

Checking the deadlines

Rarely, but it still happens that the user overlooked the need for an update and did not request new keys. Check their expiration date, it may have expired. In this case, you should select a currently valid certificate.

Checking the presence of the main GTC

Check that the chain of provided root certificates contains the “Head Certification Authority” PAK key. It is the first link and the main one in the hierarchical chain of certificates.



CryptoPro check

  1. If all of the above does not help, try uninstalling and completely reinstalling the CRYPTO-PRO program.
  2. At the same time, update all linked certificates.
  3. If you are working in test mode, check that the TSP service address is correct.

Check all the points described above, their correct execution will solve the problem “An untrusted certificate was used (0x800B010A).” Most often, the error is solved by adding the keys of the “Head Certification Authority”. Error 0x80090017 occurred to me when I tried to install a certificate in continent ap.

The first thing that came to mind was a thought! Do I have crypto pro installed??? I went into the control panel and realized that it was not there))) I quickly resolved this issue. I installed Crypto Pro, after installation I was not notified by the “you need to restart the computer” window, well, I’m happily trying to install the certificate and connection again, but.... then the second error replaced the first one.


I quickly rebooted the computer to eliminate this moment from my mistakes.

It helped!!! The continent certificate was installed and I was able to connect.

Many procurement participants, regardless of experience, are faced with the problem of correct operation on the electronic trading platform. These errors can be discovered at any time, including during electronic trading.

The consequences can be very different, namely:

  • Application for participation in the competition not submitted on time
  • Lost e-auction
  • State contract not signed on time

The three most common problems when working with electronic signatures

  1. The procurement participant certificate is not displayed on the electronic platform
  2. Electronic signature does not sign documents

In fact, there may be many more errors, but we will analyze the main ones and their causes, and also outline possible ways to eliminate problems.

The most important thing is to remember that for the electronic signature to work correctly, you must use the Internet Explorer browser no lower than version 8 and, preferably, no higher than 11 (with version 11 there is no guarantee of stable operation of the signature).

The signing key certificate is not visible on the site when trying to log in to the system

In this case, the error is caused by several reasons, namely:

  • Incorrect configuration of the signing key certificate
  • Internet browser is not configured correctly
  • The root certificate of the Certification Authority is missing

How to solve the problem?

First of all, you need to make sure that you have correctly installed the public part of the certificate into personal ones via CIPF (Crypto Pro). In this case, the version of the installed program is suitable for the type of operating system you have.

Then, in the Internet Explorer browser settings, you need to add site addresses to trusted sites and enable all ActiveX controls.

Electronic signature gives an error when signing documents

Typically, this error occurs in a number of cases:

  • The CryptoPro program license has expired
  • Media with a different certificate is inserted

How to fix this?

To do this, you need to obtain a new license by contacting the Certification Center. After the license has been successfully received, you need to launch CryptoPro and enter the license serial number.

In the second case, you need to check all closed containers (media) inserted into the USB connector of the computer and check that the correct certificate is selected.

The system gives an error when logging into the electronic platform

This error may be caused by a combination of the reasons mentioned above. As practice shows, such an error primarily appears due to an incorrectly installed Capicom library. We recommend checking whether the library is installed on your computer and paying attention to the need to copy 2 system files with the .dll extension to one of the Windows folders when using a 64-bit system.
